While it is still at 10k, its sad to see that that spike in sales was only temporary. Considering how the PS5 have been selling so far, its very likely that it will return to its pathetic low 5k sales that it has been having so far.

But other than that, (Switch) Software did as expected, and the Switch had a great week.

We have to assume that PlayStation doesn't exist in japan at this point.

With ps4+ps5, and none of their games are in the top 10. The fuck do these Japanese people do with their console?
Could be buying digital, ps plus collection? Etc. remember that a good nearly half of all software sold world wide is digital on PS.

PS software couldn't even make the top 30 over Christmas and New Years and it happened similarly like what, five times last year? Whereas before it only happened once or twice in the three decades before.

PlayStation is hemorrhaging in it's self-dug grave in Japan.

True, but digital adoption for switch is way lower than PS.
Maybe. Japan, have been buying discs, and continue to do so. it would be weird if they all went all in digital.

I know the west is moving all digital, due to dlcs, and digital sales.

at this point Sony has 1 option. Buy square, sega, or capcom. If they dont, switch will control japan.
Nintendo probably wouldn't stand still while Sony robbed them of one of their biggest collaborators.

But more than that, Capcom and Square are in a really good place right now, partially because of Nintendo. And Sega seems to be finding their footing.

And even then, even if Sony bought one of the three, it wouldn't change much. That just goes to show the strenght of Nintendo.

Square and Capcom are big, but Sega doesn't really have that much for Japan. Konami or Bandai Namco would be better.
Seeing Animal Crossing at over 7m is kind of crazy. What's this game about anyways? Bought it for my kid but have no idea what's about.
The best way I can describe it is that it's like The Sims, but you play as one of the Sims rather than an invisible creator.

Approximately 80,000 Switch OLED happy campers! That system is what the original concept of the Switch was supposed to be from the get-go. However, I've been playing the Xbox Series S a lot more lately. It's a great 1-2 combo.

For me the Swtich OLED and Series X, but great combo no matter what Xbox you opt for. :)

its relaxing game. You play it, after hardworking day.
Just can't stop playing it, feel guilty if I do not visit my island for at least 15 mins every day, even more to do since the update, and I have not even touched the paradise DLC yet.

It’s kind of like a virtual job. Sort of like a JRPG if you took away all the fun stuff and just walk around a town talking to NPCs, doing fetch quests, and decorating your house.

I can’t stand it but my wife and kids love it.

What Sega IP do you believe would help Sony in Japan? The biggest one is Persona and they already get that.
Sonic, bayonetta, yakuza, virtua fighter. These are the big Sega IPs.

None of those are major in Japan. Yakuza does good, but Sonic does basical nothing and Bayonetta is small too. I guess there is potential for Sony to handle the IPs better and achieve growth in Japan.

its something, compared to what they have now. Most of their Ip are geared toward west. Aside of GOT.

Yeah, it keeps me updated on using PowerBI. It's sadly better when it's interactive.

Need to fix the dashboard for running totals over years and include the 8th gen.
Is PowerBI free? is it part of 360? I gotta find some graph designers, have no idea what's the best to start with.

From OP's Pie Chart.

"Cumulative home console sales by week and family:

I don't know how OP got his numbers, but last weeks number

Its cumulative. Last weeks number inclueded 2 weeks: One from last year, and one from this year. So the cumullative of this year is about half of last weeks number plus this weeks number.
