AMD-Xilinx is a merge deal and Nvidia did not (and will not) acquire Arm. Microsoft OTOH completely buys huge companies using cash.

If Discord goes public, you can bet that Microsoft WILL acquire a majority participation in stocks. Once they want a technology, they simply don't let it go that easily. Remember Mosaic, Windows 1.0, Microsoft Edge, etc. etc. etc.
