I would 100% blame on Ubisoft for not implementing native 4k resolution and on ghost recon breakpoint
It’s nothing but a 5 minute update to unlock framerate and leave everything else as was on prior gen. Lazy indeed, but no different to Sony BC efforts. If they don’t set an example, can’t expect 3rd party to do better.

The upside is with PS5 having more than a 2x GPU delta , things run impeccably and that’s a priority.

However on the PlayStation 5 hardware itself the system could actually handle native 4k at 60fps just like how it performs on XBSX. So Sony console is not to blame. Just wanna finally make sure of it.

XsX GPU is less than 2x compared to One X, and bc games run the risk of 30 to 60 suffering frame drops if One x was pushed to start with. .

The PS5 scenario for me personally is far more desirable with locked 60.

Ideally the BC updated would undergo some optimisation to fine tune rez vs performance as you say. That goes for both systems.

Because it's runs better? You just said you prefer performance. Sure the resolution drops a bit lower but it stays locked to 60fps more then the PS5 does.
The resolution framerate variable is a hard equation.

Better res/ drops a frame = PS win.
Lower res/ better frame = ps wins
Same res/ same frame = PS win

No matter what PS win.

Hopefully that’s the end of math for tonight.

Well, because Ubi screwed PS5 version of AC with 1.04 patch. Btw. for comparison, XSX with that 1.04 patch doesn't run that good like the PS5 version before the patch. Back then, PS5 version was almost flawless. But anyway, there is now patch 1.12. What is fixed and how it runs, i dunno

As it's already been predicted looong time ago:

Not according to VG Techs data, after the path it was a tiny bit better. Xbox took the lead however.

So funny that before we knew about what the consoles were packing people on this board were saying PS would have a massive advantage and Xbox was doomed. Now a tie is a big win for those guys!

How the XSX was market as sort of magical 12TF console that would destroy everything in his path. As long the XSX can't outperform the PS5 on all sides like graphics, performance and resolution, the PS5 will always "win" (do not take it serious but you understand) compared to the XSX.

Don't forget loading times.

Xbox Series S or X = faster loading times most of the time = PS w......... (Oh crap. I'll ignore bringing up SSD and loading time if you agree not to bring it up)

According to VG tech data, with that patch PS5 get 2x more tearing than previous patch, tearing = drop frames, you only need go to the both video, download the statistics and count the percentage frames with tearing on both videos.

Do you want more proof? The game is running better after the next patch released 2 weeks from the infamous patch, the game is near of 0 tearing now. On the infamous patch getting on the water = tearing, night with torch = tearing, now is not happening, they fucked and admitted on their official forums.

How would I have a date of Sony using VRR?
You can't be this dense.

So what exactly are you bookmarking this for? the point is that we don't know if and when, not if its technically capable. Once we find out, we find out, but as of today, we simply don't know if there's some sort of technicality preventing them from using it, or simply laziness, more info needed. One has titles supporting it, the other doesn't, it's a simple fact.

At the end of the day it's a silly argument, like claiming DVD playback will eventually come to the Wii/Wii U simply because the hardware supports it, in reality, it was always up to Nintendo, again I'm not saying it won't, but using hardware support as a guarantee is flawed.
