Can confirm having played it, Division 2 is a bc game. It also reconstructs to 4k and is crisp and sharp on PS5 as if it were native.
Look it up.
I saw the comparisons, it's a quarter of the Res of Series X at times and looks it.

You have been punked I’m afraid.I saw the comparisons, it's a quarter of the Res of Series X at times and looks it.
A 12TF GCN system should be able to maintain a much higher resolution at 60FPs. I think the developers messed up in some way.

Yes, really strange how this game tears the Series X apart. Hope they'll fix this soon and bring it on par with the PS5 version.

Yeah the game on my PC averaged in the 40-60% gpu range at 1080p on my 980ti, meaning i could of easily pushed the game to 1440p. XSX gpu is like twice as powerful as my 980ti so it should of been pretty much 4k, or close to it on XSX.A 12TF GCN system should be able to maintain a much higher resolution at 60FPs. Have you drunk or what? This game is not patched at all, it unlocks FPS and no more. The ps5 version also it's still tied to the PS4 base configuration because they never realesed the pro version.Yes, really strange how this game tears the Series X apart. Well the Division 2 is shit patch, because it apparently is running at lower details/effect than PS4 Pro version. What it's hard to explain? This patch did nothing, just unlock the FPS. Or do you think it's normal for series X to drop at 1260p to hold 60 fps in this game?

Its probably just an overly aggressive dynamic res solution. Its happened on PC a few times, like with HZD where dynamic rez would drop down to what looked like 720p to keep 60fps. Thankfully they fixed it though.
Let’s clear something here there is no PS5 upgrade/patch in this game.Well from the looks of it the rumored weakstation 5 should be able to run this game at much higher settings. I think it's a pretty basic upgrade on both.
Eh low API access did weird stuff in hardware BC game. It happened something similar in AC Syndicate when was patched for the pro. The first wave of pro games had similar issue the first yearWell the Division 2 is shit patch, because it apparently is running at lower details/effect than PS4 Pro version.
I agree, but they still can do better, I think. There are many BC games which runs just fine and better on PS5.Eh low API access did weird stuff in hardware BC game. It is the PS4 version of the game (there is not PS4 Pro upgrade/patch too)... the PS4 version has a option to unlock the framerate up to 60fps and that is what the video is using to compare.
He used a terrible example there since even Series S plays that game at twice the framerate as PS5
At the end of the day 99% of players won't care why it's better on Xbox, the fact is this is another game that just is, Microsoft just did a far better job.
You’re trying really hard to bait over a shitty patch that does nothing but unlock the PS4 versions frame rate. Is it worth wearing out your schtick over this? Can't wait to see how Thelastword spins this one, they will be in pretzel shape to make this one a win.
Really hard to explain. Guess we'll have to wait for a proper analysis from some Gaf expert like Bo Hazem. Maybe he'll be back soon, he probably took a little nap after this video was uploaded.
And the Senior “I’m the expert” avoided the question... BTW he come talk with me not the opposite... and keep repeating the PR.Aren't you the guy that recently explained the secrets of Series X' hardware to a senior xbox programmer on twitter?
Anyway, thanks for clearing things up in this thread. A little expertise from hard boiled tech guys like you always helps the discussion.
You've spent 70% of your total 15 posts talking to me or about me.

Another game PS5 res is the same as Series S. X pushing up to 4x the res as PS5.
Isn’t it more that xbseries s is trading blows with ps5 in this bc comparison?Another PS4 game without patch for PS5.
Another PS4 game trading blows with Series S.
It is a PS4 game without any change for PS5 or PS4 Pro... it runs like a PS4 game.Isn’t it more that xbseries s is trading blows with ps5 in this bc comparison?
But not dumb Sony fans eh. Nobody got that kind of time am I right. But I actually like the tag, it's true I enjoy making fun of Xbox fans (only when they say dumb things though). Nothing personal, I enjoy making fun of stupidity in general.

The fact a PS4 game can trade blows with Series S is shocking indeed because PS4 Pro is expected to reach near Series S not PS4.

The game has a fixed 1080p resolution.
i laugh my ass off, most of you never coded in life and act like you understand shit about code whatsoever lmao
If the game has a lock 1080p no matter what you do, it won´t go higher, i could put a game at 480p 30fps on Ps5 looking like San Andreas and you could complain all you want.
The fact is, this game will never go higher than 1080p on Ps5 unless the dev does a Ps5 patch or Pro enhancement of some sort which i doubt, they just unlock the frame rate and call it a day.
Xbox Series X uses a dynamic resolution with the highest native resolution found being 3840x2160 and the lowest native resolution found being 1920x1080. Native resolution pixel counts during gameplay seem to often be in the range of 2688x1512 and approximately 2240x1260 on Xbox Series X. Xbox Series X uses a form of temporal reconstruction to increase the resolution up to 3840x2160 when rendering natively below that resolution.
Actually it's the XSX that has a higher resolution than 1080P. I was talking about that version of the game in that comment.

Thanks, well written und you sound very convincing. I especially like the part where you say that most of the people here don't understand anything about coding. Puts you in a position of authority, because YOU obviously have this experience.
Still I like the idea that PS5 is just to weak to deliver a higher resolution. Hard to decide.
Probably using DRS with GCN, not tapping into all the new GPU features so game will be limited by the clock speed and DRS will adjust.
Would be native 4K most likely with a proper patch.
Well, the framerate has been doubled. I'd call that a proper gamechanger. Sadly, the resolution is still stuck in early last gen. So it looks like a woman with one huge and one tiny breast on PS5. I'm just glad the Series X gives these games a real next gen treatment.
Still I like the idea that PS5 is just to weak to deliver a higher resolution. Hard to decide.
I mean it's running the game at a locked 60FPs at 1080P. It's not that strange to think it can hit a higher resolution.
Sure. If fluctuant 60 FPS is the best quality possible, you are right.Of course you can THINK that, but in the end, it's just a blurry mess on your 4K screen. I prefer playing all these games in the best quality possible, so I really don't envy you guys.
Who wants to play a game on his PS5 thinking it COULD look a lot better? If you wish for a better looking version of the game, just buy an Xbox.

Likes his tag.Terrified by the stupidity of those threads, yes. The only people in the world actually terrified of Xbox are probably Microsoft management and shareholders.
But I actually like the tag, it's true I enjoy making fun of Xbox fans (only when they say dumb things though). Nothing personal, I enjoy making fun of stupidity in general.
And nobody in their right mind could believe someone is terrified of a brand, so it's clear it's a joke. If anything, only thing fanboys of both sides could exhibit is FOMO (fear of missing out), not terror, and sometimes they clearly do, especially Xbox fans (which makes sense considering the situation they have been for years). But I have a good PC and I was a Game Pass subscriber and could be again if needed, so this doesn't even fit me either.
Likes his tag.
Admits to winding up fans of the other side.
Quotes and comments on his own posts.
Triggers everything xbox.
Claims threads on console warring are pathetic.
Claims there should be instant bans for this.
Blind to hypocrisy.
Your ban gets my vote, matey. Let’s clean up this forum.
Too bad you have zero power here and nobody cares about what you think.
Why is this game so heavy? I’d expect the XSX to max that res out at 60
I do.
In all honesty what Bo said to the magical Xbox engineer wasn't totally incorrect. "Officially" RDNA2 architecture has nothing different of RDNA1 in the hardware, it's just updating some features and improve the efficiency but outside that, they are the same thing practically. The engineer has been quite smart to avoid straightly the argument accuse him to say bullshit, quite convenient if I can say for his narrative but if he was a bit more honest, could go more in deep and say where he was wrong and where he was right, but, you know, MS is all about the spin word "full RDNA2 monster"and no way they will abandon their marketing caravan.Seems like we won't come to a final conclusion...Let's convene the council of the elderly and let them decide. Usually, at the end of the ceremony, the council banishes the most annoying member of the community and sends him to a perilous quest to the lands of the wretched butchers of the north. Therefore, I suggest Bo Hamez collects his belongings and we start the ceremony.
Of course you can THINK that, but in the end, it's just a blurry mess on your 4K screen. I prefer playing all these games in the best quality possible, so I really don't envy you guys.

So are you saying the PS5 isn't capable of running this game in a higher resolution?
