The new version of the game includes several new scenes and features, including a jarring callback to P.T. that fans have discovered!

In the new scene, Sam discovers that someone, or something, is in his shower. Sam can elect to leave the room, but if he goes to take a shower, he has a frightening encounter with a twitching creature that suddenly attacks him! However, Sam wakes up to discover that the entire thing was a dream. Pretty creepy, and a great reference that should make P.T. fans very happy!

MGSV had one too, the radio near the Devil's House. Wonder if Kojima would be willing to make the game unrelated to Silent Hills....

Ive seen it described as a Twin Peaks the Return easter egg as well. I think people are jumping the gun here by definitively describing it as a PT easter egg. It could possibly be wishful thinking.
Both Twin Peaks The Return and PT pale in comparison to their respective predecessors, so that's very fitting.

If you have watched TP: TR it's probably more obvious that it's a reference to that, especially so because Kojima has made it known he is a big fan of the show and Lynch through various tweets.
