Death Stranding criticized for calling asexuality a ‘sexless lifestyle’

I can show you a dick pic if you want?
Ok...at least you're getting closer to the theme of the topic.

Seriously though, what is the point of you even typing right now? You get excited when you know somebodies gonna see something you wrote online? Not anything of any worth, just words with your name attached? Do you think being all "cunts...outrage...too tired" is amusing to anyone other than yourself? Sounds...sad.

The author should explain who or in what numbers people are making these "criticisms". Otherwise this article just comes across as them wanting to drum up responses from all sides to get dem clicks.

Yeah, this. In most cases like this it can be traced back to some random Twitter user with zero followers.

Bullshit. That's the equivalent of claiming that many people enjoy food without experiencing smell/taste. You can't 'enjoy' sex and masturbation without those acts being linked psychologically to some kind of arousing focal point.

I think 'asexual' is often used to describe people who don't feel physical/sexual attraction to people IRL.

It's a blurry term and I think in those cases 'demisexual' is a more appropriate term (but less commonly known so not used as much).

You have to be very delusional to argue against that text. It clearly reads as people that stopped having sex started to justify it as them being asexual by the use of the word claiming. Meaning, that people that stopped having sex justified it with the lack of sexual attraction.
In not part of that it says that deciding to be celibate means being asexual.

English is not even my main language and i have better reading skills than those ass-hats tweeting.

I think people are confusing the use of the word “Asexuality” as a descriptor with the use of “Asexuality” as an identity.

The word means exactly what it implies, lack of sex. That’s what it meant before tumblr snowflakes tried to co-opt it, and that’s what it’ll mean long after. This definition includes animals that don’t sexually reproduce, and lack of sexual behaviors in animals that can. (i.e. humans)

This is what Kojima is talking about. Not psychological outliers who lack a sex drive, but people with normal sex drives and sexual attractions who just choose to not seek partners.

The idea that people refusing to form intimate relationships with others having downsides for society is absolutely true and certainly isn’t unfounded. In case you’ve forgotten, that exact scenario is playing out in Japan right now. And I’m fairly certain those downsides would grow exponentially in an apocalypse where humanity is struggling to survive. A lack of both communication and baby-making would be absolute negatives in such an environment.

This is neither ignorance nor malice, he is using the term in the way it’s always been used and that doesn’t compute with the people whose only source of information is cat-lady blogs and feminist slam-poets.

Moreover, this isn’t even Kojima saying this. This is a random in-game character saying outright “this is just a hypothesis, I don’t have data on this”. This point of view is treated neither as fact nor as falsehood, it’s just some guy writing down his thoughts about society during an apocalypse.

Kojima did nothing wrong.

I loved it when people could look at a form of entertainment and realize that it's a form of entertainment. A fictional world for your personal enjoyment. Not real.

Can it contain real words, topics, and then some? Oh of course, but that still doesn't change the fact that it's a fictional world. It's not pushing some kind of agenda or anything of that nature.

I hate what this has all become, and it disgusts me that it's so frequent that it's almost expected at this point.

The internet, it's a wonderful thing. But good god, am I well over the fact that it gives the most desperate, attention craving, overly sensitive, idiotic mindsets a voice. Even worse is when others give them attention, and exactly that they want. That sucks. It really sucks.

Damn, one Tweet by a nobody? Totally newsworthy :pie_eyeroll:

Whatever gets reactionaries fired-up to get those clicks, I suppose.
About the same worth as about 90% of the other 10,000 Death Stranding threads on this board though to be fair.

Considering its a sci-fi game, and looking at how the world is today, its a possible outcome.

I believe children of men had a similar depiction of the future, although not as explicit, it was intrinsic in its story.

Japanese males basically have testosterone levels of 100 right now.
Its clearly a comment based on observations of his own Japanese culture.

The concept of young men preferring ANYTHING over sex is mind blowing to me. And it probably is to Kojima too.
Yamate is a boner killer when life isn't like them little sister mangas.

Sorry to bother you, but is themselves the right word in this occasion? Isn't "myself" better?

(I'm learning english that's why i ask, not a grammar nazi or anything)

Might be wrong, but using "Myself" in that sentence doesn't sound right to me. Might be because I referred to myself as "someone" in the first part.

As somebody who doesn't tend to think that way, I find it a very curious thing.

Sure my day is punctuated by being attracted to women but it so rarely manifests into an outright sexual urge to fuck them.

I think you misunderstand the point.
The point is that when your girlfriend/whatever gives you that look; and you turn her down and keep playing Fortnite.

Or you just choose to play non stop Fortnite and not even bother getting a girlfriend in the first place.

That's the problem which seems very common amount young men today. Kojima seems to be pointing that out; at least that's how I interpret it.

Ohhh... yeah I did misunderstand it.

I guess it's a lack of drive then rather than a biological thing.

Is this an in-game text?

Yes

ITS A GAME!!!

Why would anyone think that any characters or opinions in fiction represent the intent of the creator!?!

People write stories or screenplays or movies or TV shows about murder and killing, that doesn’t mean its creator is into killing and murdering

That's fine, but saying you don't feel sexual attraction towards people in real life is not the same as claiming that you don't experience sexual attraction at all. Masturbating while watching pornography or imagining a sexual act with some other individual/animal/cartoon/whatever means that you're experiencing sexual attraction towards that individual/act/etc. Without sexual attraction there would be no voluntary impulse to perform sexual acts. The problem here is the same as always occurs when people try to justify or describe their (vaguely understood) emotions using scientific words that have well defined meanings.

Well I know an asexual guy and he is sexless. Feels nothing for anyone.

No, you don't understand. It's a constantly changing spectrum to whether or not I get laid one week or another.

Why would I ask a soyboy about testosterone?

Everything makes sense now. This is perfection, and brap brap will forever be reminded of it. Thank you.
