The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals Project GAMM, a new fantasy action game for console from Cygames, directed and produced by Senran Kagura creator Kenichiro Takaki with cooperation from illustrator Mogmo, composer Shirou Sagisu, and designer Kiyoshi Arai.

The magazine offers the following tidbits of information:
  • You can fight in flashy and exciting player-versus-player action battles.
  • The game is set in a world of magic and machines—and the machines are powered by magic.
  • The protagonist may possibly be a young mage.
  • There is also a maid, a robot, and a knight. Almost everyone is playable and plays a central role.
  • Multiplayer is at the game’s core.
According to the source of the magazine leak, while the screenshots featured in Weekly Famitsu give the impression of a one-versus-many-style action game, it is mainly a player-versus-player game.

I'm looking at the actual magazine now (I don't usually get excited or report from magazine leaks from a blog. They caused plenty of mistakes in the past. Remember Tifa's boobs?) and it looks good. Will follow up when I've actually read it.

As expected, this morning's leak was very. very partial and potentially misleading (I really don't understand why people keep parroting Ryokutya's leaks. We know they're not very reliable by now). While the game does focus on multiplayer, it'll be enriched by parts that can be played solo because Takaki-san knows that conveying the appeal of the characters and world is important. Incidentally, he also teased more unannounced console/pc games by Cygames.

I translated the whole thing from the actual magazine and it's indeed interesting. The images look great (but don't expect giant boobs so far, the art style is very different from Senran Kagura, albeit I love it). Won't link it because self-promotion, but you likely know where to find it.

I was thinking something like an online Dynasty Warriors?

From what I can read, if seems more like Overwatch (but with additionalal solo elements), but with magic and melee fighting. While there are multiple enemies shown in a couple of screenshots, there is zero mention anywhere of any Musou elements.
