Cyberpunk Patch 1.1 out

Oh wow, they've managed to create a new and somewhat consistent bug, the HUD overlay for an item you're about to pick up remains in place (hiding quest marker), until you look at a new item. It doesn't happen all the time, but based on less than an hour of play, it's not uncommon.
I see this bug sometimes as well but it's not a new bug, been happening since launch version (PC).

I've already said in various threads that I loved the game on PC and it might be my favorite game this generation, even with certain issues which I realize.
Here would be my list of things they would need to improve or have in the game for me to consider it close to perfect, at least for this style of game, without being exaggerated:

1.Better AI and Police, without spawning from nowhere, better reactions etc
2.Better collision for everything: npcs, cars etc
3.Minimap to zoomout when driving fast
4.Car paints, at least have the skins that are already out in the world
5.More escorts to f**k
6.Space story mission maybe crystal palace or moon colony
7.Another corporate mission in a large building, like the Konpeki plaza one from prologue. Theres alot of missed potential here, for example the big Medcenter in Watson is there just for show, I could see a really cool mission in there, fighting trauma teams trying to hunt you or something.
8.Flying cars, mod at least ?

If this list is implemented, I would consider this game close to perfect. I think CDPR have it in them to do it.

I find your optimism... somewhat endearing, actually, but I doubt we'll see much improvements WRT AI and such, these are fundamental systems that should have been in place way before pre-aplha.

For me, there'd be a single update that would be easy to implement and would improve the game tremendously. While the combat music could use more variation, the soundtrack on the whole is just sublime. It fits the game perfectly. So - why not have a radio you can tune into when walking instead of just driving? A simple, probably quite trivial, change to the game.

Beat it and uninstalled it already. Is it worth going through a second time on a different character?

There's fun to be had if you change up your approach. I'm near 390 hours on various playthroughs trying out different things and just exploring the systems/missions and options within. That's a good 100 hours more than I spent with TW3 and I noodled on that something fierce, and I'm not done with Night City yet. I think the big mistake a lot of people make is to plough the main story right from the off versus not rush it. It's worth tackling the NCPD (blue) missions in Watson before pushing through to the heist for instance. I'd also say it's well worth taking the time to read the various shards you pick up. There's a surprisingly large amount of back story going on there, and interconnectedness to the world around that a lot of people simply are not picking upon. I'd save the Yellow side missions (save T-Bugs) until Johnny is on the scene, as he has a tendency to add some flavour commentary to those.

With that said, if someone was asking me whether I'd wholeheartedly recommend picking it up now. I'd say wait until at least the 1.2 patch arrives in February. 1.1 was focussed on stability and performance fixes for the consoles as well as a few of the more egregious bugs, but 1.2 should address a substantial number of issues. It's a rough diamond that just requires a bit of more polish to truly shine.

To build on what Kadayi says, assuming you didn‘t rush through it the first time and did most sidequests, read shards etc. I think it just comes down to whether you like “noodling” with games like this as they put it.

I personally don’t and I‘m playing to just take in the story (including the side quests, lore around the world—shards in this game etc.). From what I’ve seen, the story doesn’t vary enough with different origin, different gender etc. for it to be worth a full replay. I had initially considered doing one when the next gen upgrade patch hit, but I don’t think I will and will just hold off on any free DLC and have that and the paid expansions to enjoy the world after the graphics upgrade.

That’s just me though and I’m not a make my own fun, mess with systems redo quests to see minor different outcomes/options type gamer. I mostly want to get through all/most of the story content in a game like this and move on to other games. I’m more a variety is the spice of life gamer, than one who wants to replay games in general though, so it’s not exclusive to these types of games. The vast majority of games I see the credits (or drop without finishing if I’m not feeling it) and will never touch again.

TLDR: There’s a lot to mess around with it you’re one that likes tinkinering around with builds and messing around with doing quests differently, probably not worth replaying if you were there for the story and characters and took your time and did all or most story sidequests.

Let's take one of the more major side quests (major in that there are several parts), the Delamain one. In the end you're presented with three options how to conclude it - the default one, the Silverhand option and possibly a skill check for a different outcome.

...but, all they do is change the resulting cutscene a bit. You're given the same reward. Which is kinda disappointing.

TBF, sometimes with a game it's about what feels right to you and less about the material outcomes, case in point in Judy's questline I replayed the whole taking over clouds mission and changed up from doing exactly what Judy wanted, to back up Miako (though I didn't accept her money) simply because if you back Judy up the Tyger Claws eventually come back and Tom get killed (as you learn about during Pyramid song). Whereas if you back Miako, it's just business as usual but with her running things instead. There wasn't any material reward for doing so, but I felt bad that Tom (goofy Mofo that he was) put his trust in us to do things right and ended up getting killed. Much love for Judy, but let's be honest...she didn't really have a sound strategy going on there, and it makes sense that things would go to shit.

Oh sure, and there's nothing wrong with that. Most of the time in games it's the "illusion of choice". Take something like HZD - while there are a few binary choices you can make (which really don't affect much in the grand scheme of things), most of the time you're just choosing how you react to a particular situation. Which is fine, it makes you feel more connected to the character you're controlling. But we were promised that each and every action we take could alter the world significantly. Which very much apparently is not the case here.

The Police AI one is huggggge for me - needs fixing.

By version 1.5 I think I'll be able to genuinely recommend the game and whilst it doesn't excuse the launch at all, I believe CDPR will get there in terms of what they wanted to do and are dedicated enough to put the work in

Wish the PS5 Witcher update had a date in the meantime but whatever

I don't see Getting Warmer gig getting fixed (on older saves) in the patch description, not even gonna bother installing it.

This patch didnt solve any of my problems.

The sidequest with the cops at my building is still bugged, crashes are still frequent ...

Framerate is pretty much the same. Visuals are the same.

They said that they've increased crowds on PS4 Pro/ PS5, but nope. I mean, if they did, it was like 1 more NPC than before.

As expected: you dont put release dates for patches. 'cause you dont know what you'll be able to fix until it launches.

Devs have to research a lot to find whats causing these problems. In most cases, they have no fucking clue about what's causing them. So how can you put the solution into a timeframe? Madness.

I just hope that they are able to fix crashes with the next patch. Please, that's fundamental.

We had 4 hotfixes and 1 "big" patch, and it still crashes? Unacceptable

1.Better AI and Police, without spawning from nowhere, better reactions etc

This is totally because the driving AI is basically held together with spit. Even in the racing missions, if you look at your radar, cars are teleporting all over the fucking place because the AI can't actually drive. All the scenes where you ride shotgun, the AI is more or less on rails and will plow right through other cars or pedestrians without even slowing down.

Cyberpunk is not a driving game, and its missions aren't designed around driving like GTA's are, so they kind of get away with this, but the cracks show when there are those dependencies.

There is further communication after that is different depending on your outcome.

Here's the problem with "rushing through" .....if you're going in blind you have NO IDEA you're actually rushing through the game. The ratio to side quests versus main story is so ridiculous that's why it's comical to see the "Please go visit Hanako" because you can reach that point so fast just playing the game as it is presented to you

All of the optional quests being routed through your phone where you can answer it every 10 seconds and get a new mission doesn't create any sense of importance which is why it's virtually impossible to reach an end to the game where you don't got tons of missions left and you're staring at that "Go meet Hanako"

I made this mistake though putting plenty of time into side quests, I did a check for myself to see how far along I was in the story, to my shock I was literally already to the final quest with SO MUCH the game just left sitting there unnoticed and treated without any importance yet clearly IS IMPORTANT to the games ending which makes it all the more stupid it's optional and not mandatory

Cyberpunk would've been a game of the decade if they had put it on rails versus letting you do whatever you want. There's not enough guiding in the game for you to experience everything they intended you to do and that is the ultimate failure of CDPR that will always permeate in the game

Nice. I put in about 40 hours on XSX within the first week it was released but haven’t played since. Still might just wait for next gen patch.
That’s kind of where I am too. I enjoyed the intro but I’m really hoping they flesh out the world more by the time the next Gen patch hits. For now I’m having way more fun with Destiny 2 just wandering and messing around and that’s what I come to games like this for more than mainlining the quest.

Installation on GoG always stuck at 92%, then unknown server error, installation failed E9.

Guess I won't play with this patch then.

How incompetent can a company be, that their own fucking launcher isn't able to install a patch for their game?

Had this with the last patch as well, took me a complete re-install for it to work. But with many, many hours of slow ass download speeds on their side, countless server errors and failed attempts.

Not going to do this again. This is embarrassing. Even Bethesda doesn't fuck up it's patch installation on their launcher. Bethesda.

And every time there's an error, it doesn't try it again automatically. I always have to start it again manually.

Edit: oh well, can't play the game until the patch installation is completed. But it fails all the time. Fuck this shit!

My installation got so messed up that GoG wasn't even able to uninstall the game, after all the installing didn't work.
Even after manually deleting the Cyberpunk folder from my drive, it still tried to automatically install the patch. Which of course never worked.

Got mad and deleted GoG all together. Had GoG and the games on different drives, maybe this caused some issues for that shitty client.

Well, off to a new start, downloading the whole game again. Already three hours of my very limited gaming time are gone. Sounds like great fun amirite guys.

Ok, I'll rephrase - did it change the world in any meaningful fashion as we were promised?
No, generally the side quests only affect things in the main story in a binary way, i.e. did you complete the quest line, rather than what choices you made during that quest.

Not really. Witcher 3's main quest line was pretty thin and didn't connect much to the various subplots.
Well the two main factors determining what happens to Temeria and what happens to Geralt respectively, are your choices in the Radovid questline and the Triss/Yennefer questlines, which are optional. And there is also some reactivity within the game itself, like Yennefer getting angry at you for trying to romance Triss.

Only another 30 patches to go before i buy it. "lollipop_disappointed:
Do you think they'll ever be able to get at least halfway to the deep RPG a lot of people were imagining back when the game was announced? Witcher 3 got a ton of support after release, so I'm hoping they really try and meet expectations with this game eventually.

At this point they should just forget about this and move on, what they need is to scale down their studio to larian's size and just do what they did best, focus on non linear story telling and make their cyberpunk series hub based like deus ex. THese updates will keep spawning new bugs so it's simply pointless to waste time on this lol. Stop dreaming to be another rockstar.
