Cyberpunk 2077 & Witcher Next-Gen still on Track for 2022

I don't understand the allure of doing a next gen version of the Witcher since it's pretty old. Why not use the resources on something else? And I hope the next gen patch for Cyberpunk 2077 isn't bug ridden.

I still hope they'll eventually give us the Deus Ex GTA we'd been promised.

lol yesssss that meme gets me every time! lol

I'd rather wait for Ubisoft, Rockstar or Square to just give us that. They likely see all the money that can be made with the sci fi concept and can just avoid all the shit this team did.

Just the little problem of not being the game they promised.

To be fair that problem is with all versions, including PC, not just consoles.

The console versions are just shockingly poor releases with barely any QA done on them pre-release.

And I don't have a lot of faith of the 'next-gen' patch fixing most of the bugs/glitches etc either.

As far as Cyberpunk goes, PS5 owners should get a reasonable upgrade. Xbox owners should expect nothing.

Here is Cyberpunk with the latest patch on the Xbox platform with the most users (X1/X1S):

Standing on a corner:

Walking through the city:

Driving:

Shooting:

Driving while shooting:

After this, CDPR said they were satisfied with the performance of the game on these machines and quit patching them.

The following is all speculation:
CDPR spent a year getting the Playstation versions working with reasonable performance. Almost certainly because Sony yanked the game from their store. Microsoft allowed the game to continue being sold, so CDPR didn't bother with any optimizations. They know they have to deliver a good experience on Playstation, but Microsoft doesn't really care.

note: Ignore the version numbers listed in the screenshots. Both Techfuse and EADB indicated in their video notes that they forgot to update their overlay text. These performance tests were all from the latest patch.

I understand, but I also want to be a little sympathetic towards that developers, they already have a massive trash fire in the form of cyberpunk to take care of as well, adding another big project on top of that couldn't have been easy for them.

Aren’t both of the next gen update being done by a third party and not CD Project directly?

CDP should be doing two things!
Doing No Man's Sky with cp2077 and making their next game.
Next gen W3 reeks to me of creative bankruptcy unless it's a free update.

Ubisoft already tried. It was called Watch Dogs 3 and it was honestly great with dealing any sleep problems you might have, just play that game and you'll be fast asleep before you know it.

After what Rockstar did with the GTA remasters I wouldn't count on them for anything. RDR2 will be the last great thing they produce. Honestly I almost want to cry when I think about what could have been with Cyberpunk. I really do hope they pull a miracle out of their ass because there is a lot of potential there.

This is why its easy for me to skip consoles (at least for now) and stick to PC. I have been playing next gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 since 2020

The vast majority of the time developers deliver good or great next gen versions of their games. I really wonder what they have been doing all this time. No gameplay footage either, so low expectations at the moment: they probably spent all their time on patches.

This is not the norm. I don't even remember the last time a console version of any game was as trash as CP2077. Skyrim on PS3 I guess. CP never should have been released on last-gen consoles. I was convinced long before release that those versions would be shit, so I'm still waiting for the PS5 version. Not sure what's taking CDPR so long honestly. These versions should have been ready at launch, like all other games from more competent developers.

PS5/XSX have been getting great versions of pretty much all games since they were released. Not as good as running them maxed out on a PC where the GPU alone costs 3-4x as much as these consoles, sure, but that's not reasonable to expect.

Cyberpunk designer responds to lack of police chases: ‘Elden Ring won’t have them either’

“I don’t think that the Sonic or the Elden Ring open-world game will have it”

I think CD Projekt should stop talking. They just make things worse every time they talk.

Do we know a lost of the enhancement of the next gen version of the Witcher 3?

Normally unbelievable CDPR took 1 Year to patched the Game for PS4/Xbox S to make halfway playable without content!
But from content and performance side similar like a Day One Patch to other Games from big Studios to release Day.
Its a Big Shame for a Studio they make really good Games with her Witcher Series.
The Game is so unfinished in all corners, expect to last year release need minimum 1 1/2- 2 Year extra development time had needet.
But no, the only really important thing for the CDPR Managers were Dollars and Euros.

That's a weird take because Cyberpunk sucks on PC all the same (same meaningless open world, same bad sidequests, same dumb ai, same lack of impactful choices, same useless life paths...) and it's basically the only AAA game that focused on PC first anyway.

I might give the Witcher another chance if the upgrade is impressive.

Cyberpunk will probably remain the disappointment that it is.

how funny would it be if they spend the entire gen fixing their games instead of making new ones? what the hell is happening to this industry?

Hiring people not good enough for the roles they are employed in

Shills defending mediocrity for their own benefit

A “haters gonna hate” mentality that’s a detriment to the quality of a product

The consumer handing over their money is taken for granted and in many cases they are sadly correct in their assumption

A growing trend of streamers farting on lit cigarettes whilst humming the theme to Dallas is having a negative impact on a developers thought process

On-topic.

The Witcher actually already has a pretty solid 1200p~60 FPS mode on the Xbox version if anyone wants to try it that way.

I just hope they don't axe the high frame rate mode whenever they launch the RT update. Keep the RT stuff and let there still be a performance mode separate for those who want it.

Well, I'm pretty sure that at least they will allow us to choose a 60 fps mode. There will probably be a performance and a fidelity mode. They already did that on Xbox One X.

not really. Lets not drag the PC version down to the console trash level.

That's a fact, the PC has exactly the same systems as the other versions, whether you like it or not.

The AI is the same, the RPG systems are the same, the side quests are the same... Sure, the turd looks better on PC, and it performs a lot better than old gen console versions but... as a RPG, it's still a turd. There's no depth or real consequences to what you do until the very end.

As a linear action adventure game though, I'd say it's okay (both on next gen consoles and PC) because characters and story were okay.

I mean based on features, concept etc. Not speaking about anything regarding Watchdogs 3 story or anything.

They can make a better story, larger more darker world, swap from first to 3rd person and they can get that Deus Ex, CP2077 community easily.

That’s certainly not the fact. The PC is certainly not down to the same level as console, no matter how much you choose to not believe. The PC is certainly on a much superior state than the consoles, with better graphics, better performance, less technical issues, better support and more.

You didn't read his comment. He said it's "systems" are the same as console. The systems such as stats, crafting, gameplay, police, etc. The post even acknowledged that graphics and performance are better on PC. The only "system" I can think of that's better on PC is the NPC density and the Series X has the higher density setting so I'm not sure that counts.

Predicts the worst decade for Sony starting 2022
I purchased the ps4 version of cyberpunk back in september to play on my ps5. Still collecting dust until the next gen patch comes out. I will play it then.

I recently got my 3080Ti and I finally realized once and for all that not even great performances and all the optional eye candy in the world can save this game from its own shallowness and intrinsic mediocrity.

CP2077 is a lost cause and the oh-so-waited "next gen patch" won't change a thing, since the studio already made it clear that they aren't really looking to "fix" anything of its messy, lousy core design, aside from performances and bugs.
I'm already looking past it to see if CDPR will ever fully recover from this fall with their next games.

Streamers relationship with devs/pubs and the amount of shilling being done by them is a big problem right now.

I agree with all the those things these companies have never had more power and money then they do now yet their greed and laziness has never been greater than now.

I can't stand seeing gamers get so defensive over these companies every time another unfinished broken game comes out. These delays over the next gen patch are unacceptable considering the promises made by CD Project. In general not enough games are being patched for 60 fps for the new consoles either. These patches don't require as much effort and expenses as some think.

Games should run consistent with the capabilities of the current gen hardware which is Series X/S/Ps5. Third parties especially have little excuse since they only have 1 or 2 games to worry about at a given time. Devs more than anyone should understand how important 60 fps is to the playability of their games yet look at how few patched games there are. The entire ethos of the industry is fucked if you ask me. They even have incentive to patch their game, bringing more sales and goodwill to the company but it's accepted somehow that once a game has been released that nobody should expect devs to put in the extra effort. Gamers defend their laziness towards their own fans and games all the time.

CDProject, despite being a huge, wealthy company who made billions off the sale of a falsely advertised CP2077, still acts like they're doing us a favor with the next gen patch. It's "still on track for 2022" are you fucking kidding me? Nothing about this insulting statement is "on track". There's even a latent back pedal in the idea that it's on track for "2022". Wasn't the patch expected in "Q1 2022"? Now it's just "2022". Could he holiday 2022 for all we know. This is just rediculous how they continue to conduct themselves.

I notice the AI, gameplay etc are also much superior than the console versions. The console players can't enjoy the system when their copies are unplayable in the first place.

Right, the game is broken or substandard in so many areas.

Because even thought it came out in 2015 Witcher 3 is still one of the best open-world RPGs on the market today. Many people would love to replay it with minimal load times and 60FPS.
