Open World

  • Fixed an issue where summoned vehicles could be spawned far away from the player.
  • Suicidal Corpos in Corpo Plaza will no longer stand up after the fall.

  • Gig: Goodbye, Night City - Fixed an issue where the quest didn't trigger after approaching the area.
  • Gig: No Fixers - Fixed an issue where the "Park Iris' car in the garage" optional objective didn't complete if player stopped in front of the garage.

lol, this game is so bizarre.

I actually deleted my PS4 save and started fresh as a Nomad for the PS5 version this past weekend. The game does have its moments and it feels great at 60fps but outside the visuals, nothing about this game screams nex-gen. The AI is so insanely dumb at times. Escaping the hotel with Jackie. He's just standing out in the open getting absolutely wrecked by a guy in a mech suit, lol. The scripted car chase scenes, such a nightmare to aim on consoles during those sections and it's all theatrics. Every single one has been scripted so far. Every person I try to interact with in the city just says something scripted. No dialog options or anything. I occasionally see a blue marker on the map, get out and kill people for whatever reason. It's the whole dead or alive thing but honestly no clue on how you could go about it without killing them all. They just immediately start firing at you.

I'll stick with it but I don't think this game will ever get to a point where it's something truly special. Just seems like an inherently broken game and was stitched together.

I still think they could have avoided a lot of backlash if they released the game with an early access, or beta logo. It would have been honest and set expectations back in 2020 accordingly
Perhaps, but absolutely not feasible given the scope and budget for this title. Here you go big or you go bust.

Or just released it late summer 2022. Plus by then a lot more would be on the next gen version's.
That would have been ideal. The next gen version definitely feels like the game i was expecting at launch. It clearly was not ready and they needed another 1 and 1/2 to 2 years to finish the game. I wish they would have taken the time. The momentary shit they would have gotten for another big delay would have saved them a lot of headaches in the long run

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
It's been over a year and this game is still getting this exhaustive bug/fixes patches instead of content patches.

No wonder CDPR are moving to Unreal 5 for the next Witcher game. This tech/engine seemed to have just fucking wrecked them over.

Good thing that CDPR is still trying to salvage this game.
Other companies would have already abandoned their game.
They have to, im glad they are because i absolutley love it now, but realistically witcher 4 wont be ready for 5-7 years. So they need a game in the meanwhile that will continue to sell and rake in revenue, like witcher 3 did for them while they worked on cyberpunk.

My thoughts exactly. Im tired of waiting. It's been a year and a half and conten wise it was...just...below average. If it took this long I imagine the expansion is either end of the year or next year and thats it, emphasis on "expansion" not multiple. Even the wording of quest design Pawel, was singular "expansion". This shit is dead, they fucked the game at the core. Oh well.

I would love to see the userbase breakdown of this game.
I bet it's still 5-to-1 in favor of the 8th gen machines over 9th gen.
Yet CDPR abandoned all optimizations on 8th gen machines when they took their long vacation last year.
At least they're still fixing bugs.

There's only so much they can do. This game was made with PS6 in mind. Top end PCs can barely run it. Without DLSS the game wouldn't run at all with all RT effects on.

CDPR themselves said they considered the 8th gen versions final.
Meaning they stopped trying.
I refuse to believe that they couldn't squeeze a little more performance out of the old machines. Especially on the Xbox side, where the game can drop into the low teens during action scenes and low twenties on One X. They did manage to get both Playstation versions sticking close to 30fps most of the time, even if the city is empty.

They can't

It's a miracle that the game can stick to 30 fps sometimes on last gen machines.

The verticality and density of this game is unmatched. Compare it to other open world games released for the PS4/ONE and it's not even close.

They should have droped those versions? Yes. But that would mean that they would also be droping more than 10M in sales.

Releasing it on 2022 for a more bug-free experience? That would mean almost 2 years of full development costs with no revenue from sales.

Exclusive to next gen? Wouldnt sell enough to pay for development costs

Tough situation, but they have only themlseves to blame for it.

Make the game within the scope for current gen machines or wait for next gen

But it doesn't. Not on the Xbox side. Only on Playstation.
Which suggests that they prioritized one platform over the other. If PS4Pro can hold 30 nearly all the time, then Xbox One X could do the same. They could drop the resolution down to the same settings as PS4Pro and fix the poor framerate. There are always ways to fix bad performance. But they just stopped trying.

They pushed graphics way higher on the One X version. Better resolution than the Pro + better textures + better crowd.

It's not that they didnt optmize for the hardware, they were just a little too ambitious

If they droped textures, resolution and crowds to keep at 30 fps, A LOT of One X owners would be mad about the downgrade

Even if it was just resolution, you know that people would get mad at CDPR.

Until the Next Gen versions, the One X version was the best one on consoles.

Personally, I would take improved graphics over performance on a game like this

I finished the game on a beefy PC with a 3080, and did the 5 hour trial on my Xbox One X. Honestly, I wouldn't hesitate to do a full replay of the game on the One X if that was the only option available to me. It looks very nice, and framerate isn't bad on the One X, either.

Games should be released when they're finished, yes. I know most games get day 1 patches etc, but this game was clearly released over a YEAR before it was really "done". It was released in alpha state.

Glad to see some fixes come but I'm still waiting on new content to come out.

Only really experienced one bug during my playthrough which was a side quest not activating when I arrived at the area. Main quest was smooth.

But yes I would like DLC, hopefully free.

Finally played this when the PS5 version was released recently and it really just didn't grab me at all. I think I've played about 6 hours but I'm done, I just can't be arsed to continue. Too many games out there too little time.

It wasn't terrible by any means and performance was pretty decent but nothing about the world/characters/gameplay managed to leave much of an impression on me. Jackie was cool and the.... nevermind.

I think supporting last gen was/is more of a factor with CP's development issues.

After all these patches the game seems to be finding a good state in next generation consoles, I did pull the trigger yesterday (I know it is not on a special sale but it is also not £69, but something like £35). Hopefully patching does not stop, but as much as I was unhappy about the state of it at launch I do want to recognise when issues get addressed.

Some of these bugs sound so trivial, it makes one wonder, why does it take so long to fix them or why they couldn't fix them before the game's launch.

Indeed, we can't live in the past.

I bought it cheaper after 1.5 and have not been disappointed. Great game, enjoy!

Picked this up for 25 bucks on Series X and gave it another shot.

By Christ it’s still a janky piece of crap, with brain dead AI. Feels like such a last gen game. And the dialogue is fucking dreadful. Everything is so damn try hard.

Massive example of hype skewing reality.

I’ll plug away at it a bit longer to give it a really fair go, but bloody hell, it starts so poorly.

I've done the "intro" twice now and I forgot about it the 2nd time but had the same reaction.

Basically how 2-3 hours in, it gives you the Cyberpunk 2077 splash screen.

It is 100% try hard and feels super disconnected, like they had to change the plot at the last stage of development but maybe I'm just not far enough in for things to really take off.

Game is getting better but AI is still jacked up. I'm seeing so many NPCs sitting on top of each other and/or doing the same exact animations.

All the other issues I could deal with but the horrid(un-skippable) dialogue made me quit
