COMICS! |OT| April 2014. Truly, there is no shame in continuing to read awful comics.

I think I posted in the CBR forums back in the day. Like seven years ago. I remember their fan fiction section was pretty strong.

Crazy to see what it turned into.

Question: How long before new releases show up in Marvel Unlimited?

Book of the month picks are in to Spike. I had a list of 10 candidates and still had the easiest time picking 3. The only one that maybe think for a second was Batman. Yes, my favorite book didn't even make my top 3.

CBR needed the reboot. Probably the biggest cesspool of trolls and racists and idiots. CBR has a really bad association with it. Now let new mods be picked who don't mind banning when the stupidity hits/trolling/bashing.

Bad enough where people rank /co as a better place to talk about comics.

Curious. I'd love to see some higher level data on the voting. Like what crap GrandHarrier considers book of the month material.

:p

Finished every issue of Annihilation, including the side stories. The artwork was consistently abysmal, but the story was enjoyable enough. Drax and Nova were sold characters.

There negativety killed the whole site for me every issue was being critiqued at every little nitpicking and complaints about continuity came in every thread.

I loved the scene with
present day Scott and Jean
in this week's issue of ANXM. It seems like
Jean
is destined to get a raw deal no matter what. Great last page reveal as well.

Last page reveal doesn't really make sense, though? It's going to be some nonsense next issue, just watch.

Also: Uncanny Avengers Annual: what in the sam bloody fucking hell did i just read

Reading Ultimate Spider Man.

I had no idea there was some "Team Up" series. My buddy doesn't have those so I can't borrow them like the rest of the series.

Completely missed Parker's battles with Connor/Lizard.

I'm pretty disappointed right now.

From the CBR article.

"Unfortunately, what happened next was unacceptable -- so-called "fans" around the Internet, on various message boards and social media, including the CBR Forums, attacked Janelle personally, threatening her with rape and assault. These same "fans" found her e-mail, home address and other personal information, and used it to harass and terrorize her, including an attempted hacking of her bank account.

All over a comic book cover critique. Just think about that for a second."

WHAT.THE.FUCK.

Some people can't be serious. How you not look at yourself while doing any of those things and think "wow. I am a piece of shit"

She was even talking about how someone was trying to hack her bank account. This shit got so batshit insane.

A glorious meta funny book written by Remender.

It's an annual, so I was expecting something a little off the regular path, but ye gods that might have been the most off the wall thing I've seen marvel do...uh..ever.

I get what it was going for, but...uh...

edit: on the positive side, there's definitely a lot of amusing out-of-context scans I can grab from that to confuse the OT. Also, Ghost Rider Pregnancy Scare might be the best use of that character I've ever seen.

Were bashing Wonder Girl's titties worth it, Janelle? Were they?

We gotta save Wonder Girl's titties, brehs. Nothing creepy about getting shook over a 16 year old cartoon character's boobs.

People gotta learn to stop catching feelings over critiques of things they enjoy.

New Avengers #16 was as bad as the Mavs losing tonight. The book just isn't for me anymore, it feels like its gotten lost in the bridge thingy viewing alternate universes at the expense of the story.

I literally just read
Battle of the Atom
last week and don't remember what happened to the
Brotherhood
. Guess that story was super forgettable.

I didn't get that at all.

We see the conclusion of another world dealing with the incursions, and the fact that they're copies of the JLA aside we see the inevitable result of their approach so far. No matter how good they are, it's death by attrition.

I could deal without the namor/tchalla interstitial bits, but I did enjoy this one- and viewing that world's history in advance prior to the incursion happening is very likely to influence the outcome.

So the lost FedEx package from last week showed up today, no thanks to them. Apparently it got delivered to the Applebees that's located in the same shopping center, and they called FedEx 30 minutes after it was delivered to let them know it was there. FedEx never made the effort to go back, or relay that message to me. Finally Applebees tracked me down themselves to let me know it was still there. Needless to say, FedEx did not get a very nice call from me this morning.

Luckily IST had sent my order in two packages, so one was delivered via USPS without issues.

Hurray for finally getting this! Can't wait to dig in, especially Blacksad.

Glad you finally got your books sorted. I am completely unsurprised by the ineptness of FedEx. Every time I've been forced to use them I have had issues.

Awesome that you finally got your package! I want to check out Blacksad when I get a chance since I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Started working through my Image books tonight, started with Revival and Morning Glories. Both of them are really interesting so far, I probably would have never looked at them if it weren't for the bundle lol.

most of them just "vanished" and they're still somewhere in the timeline. But Xorn-Jean blew up in the last battle, and Deadpool and Molly Hayes never made it there- Deadpool was killed and hayes either killed or seriously injured by Magik an issue or two before.

but all three are fine? oooooooooooookaaaay

Why Kittie had to hang by the door and make sure he got the message.

Because being negative, irrational, and bitchy is her new M.O.?
