as a fellow UKanian living in the USA, this thread is bringing up all sorts of old memories of when channel 5 was new and couldnt afford half-decent programming.

after 9pm it'd be softcore porn and during the day it was all "was hitler gay?" documentaries.

(Ive been in USA since 06)

edit - oh crap its not the UK channel 5. ignore me everyone

I enjoyed Strongman competitions back in the 1980s and 1990s. To many competitors to mention that were beasts.

The one's with Eddie Hall, Brian Shaw and that Thor guy were the best. The Stoltman brothers seems to be pretty good.
Not to derail but Ive always wondered how one of these guys would fair in an mma fight
Mariusz Pudzianowski did a few MMA fights but he had to slim down considerably.

Eddie, Thor, Shaw and Martins Licis are not only strong, they are also engaging characters. The Stoltman brothers are as entertaining as watching a brick wall.

If you guys want a full doc on the bodybuilding scene, while a bit dated, I do recommend Louis Theroux's coverage:

I'm guessing you weren't alive around the 1980s - 1990s Strongman events, as there were plenty of great characters back then, especially in the 80s with people like Bill Kazmaier, Jón Páll Sigmarsson and Geoff Capes to name a few.
