MS spent a ton to get exclusive advertising rights and console features. Not to mention a stupid looking One X custom console. Xbox fanboys suffered great humiliation when the game became a joke and an embarrassment.
Yea, Microsoft gambled big on CP2077 and lost. This entire debacle has exposed the incompetency and mendacity of CPDR’s management and the shortsighted desperation of Phil Spencer.

I've been enjoying this game so much lately. Not only is it a technical masterpiece, but a great game all together. CDPR has always been pc first and foremost. This shouldn't be a surprise that they used the best platform to showcase their new game. Either deal with running on old hardware, with no patch for next gen hardware. Or get the best bang for your buck on PC. It should be a no brainier at this point.

Make your game properly and you don’t have to worry about it getting removed from anywhere.

Game was way overhyped.
By bu but teh Sony. Shitty refund policy. Sony teh evil.

Oh how I wonder what may have caused Sony to remove the game from their store.

They should spend more time fixing their game and less time on Twitter.

It's a shame that this needs to be spelled out to them, but there you go.

If you want to point fingers at Sony and their policies for this fiasco, I'd start with how they certify titles. The game should have never been offered in the first place and I do think all the platform holders share some culpability in that.

Agreed, and not just Sony, but even Nintendo seems to give the greenlight to ports that should never be sold, and getting a refund from Nintendo is a pain in the ass.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Another bootlicker response.

Sod off.

Neither your memes nor your insults can disguise the fact you don't have any arguments. All your posts attest to is your mountainous ignorance.

You completely miss the mark on everything. The bottom line is, what the company did was 1) unethical 2) hurt the company 3) hurt their employees 4) hurt the shareholders 5) hurt their trust with industry partners 6) likely significantly and perhaps irreparably tarnished their reputation with consumers

I have already addressed all of these so-called points.

If this isn't a scenario where heads should roll, I don't know what is.

Exactly. Your ignorance is noted.

It's possible heads will roll. It's just the heads you want to see decapitated are probably involved in the process of picking which will! Can you not see the conundrum? Of course you cannot. Your childish sulk must go on.

Additionally, you simply lack the info required to make the call. You don't even know who the CEOs are, let alone the critical and at this point confidential info required to determine the who, why, when and how of the screwup.

Your childish sulk must go on.

What went down was pretty unheard of for a game of this profile. You'd be foolish to think the person that greenlit the release (or allowed it to get to the point of no return where there wasn't a better option given how firm they had held on a holiday release), should ABSOLUTELY be shit canned.

You want the board to sack themselves?

As previously explained, be careful what you wish for.

I have no doubt shareholders will be reading your posts for guidance. How could they not? They're filled with factual info, jampacked with insights. It's one rational argument after the other.

And yeah, there are plenty of people in senior management that likely DIDN'T AGREE with the decision that should probably step up for the good of the studio.

"Plenty of people in senior management"?
How could you possibly know this?
Quote and source, please.

But you're right - we don't know the EXACT specifics. That's kind of irrelevant.

How would you know the specifics are irrelevant before knowing what the specifics are?

Please.

You have already decided how you want this to play out. It's emotionalism. Pure and simple. No facts will ever change your mind, because this isn't about facts and reality.

Your childish sulk must go on.

What happened, happened, and the decision to greenlight a release comes from the very top. It's not that complicated.

Manage your bistro.
This is not your company for you to manage.

Your childish sulk shall go on.

There is no defending Sony. They suck dog balls with their lack of consumer protection. I requested a refund once as my boy used his gift card on my account but couldn’t play the content on his. It was a process not worth the money, finally got it but was told it’s a one time thing and not to bother again, how pleasant.

Oh, but there is. Reminds always of the people here who defended Microsoft's dumb-as-bricks push for an "always-on" XB1 or those who think Nintendo's scrapping their consumers' 10 year old VC library is somehow reasonable. Which is a pity, really, as the company used to have pretty decent customer support - unlike Nintendo, always a shitty platform-holder to deal with. SOA fixed and mailed me back my PS2 SCHP-2XXXX basically free of charge when I had a DVD drive issue in the mid-2000s.

Nowadays I almost only buy physical copies for my PS4/5 as I've been burned too many times by their dipshit approach to ensuring their customer's satisfaction.

Well... I'm still waiting on my GOG refund - submitted on Thursday... they responded back later that day if refunding to GOG Wallet was OK, or to my payment card. I responded saying to my card.... then nothing. Chased Saturday and chased today - nothing. Might just have to PayPal escalate this after Xmas.

It's pretty amazing how you guys CONSTANTLY seek to shift blame.

Sony isn't a villain in this. Sony is not responsible for the game releasing in this state.

Sony is just a big villain as cd projekt red. Aren't you aware of Sony not having a refund policy at all, and only did it because of the massive backlash?

Sony did not tell Microsoft to not approve refunds that didn't align with their own policies for Xbox. MS did not slap-up refunds for that game out of the goodness of their hearts

No one tells Microsoft to not approve refunds, because they do actually refund, depending on how long you played the game.

I've bought games before on Xbox before I skipped platform, and every time I needed it I got a refund. Its a standard service Microsoft has that Sony lacks.

And no, they aren't doing it because of the goodness of their hearts, but because there's something called consumer friendliness.

But its clear to hear in 2020 that people don't care about consumer friendly practises anymore.

No action Sony took in their blanket refund, nor in delisting the game, is anti-consumer. Their alleged motive is irrelevant to that fact. If you want to discuss those crappier policies, make a thread on it, absolutely, but those are irrelevant to the state of this game. Stop wanking CDPR and hold them accountable ffs.

A company, that never refunds games, only if there's a huge backlash, is anti consumer as hell. If cyberpunk didn't have this backlash and angry buyers, sony wouldn't give two fuck about you all since they already had the money, which is their business as usual.

It's insane you can compare Sony, which under normal conditions never refunds, with Microsoft, that has a 2 hour window, and as a PlayStation player not seeing any difference regarding these two policies.

2 hours may be short, but it's the same on steam. You aren't supposed to complete the game within two hours, but to get a feel of if the game is worth it.

I also never said CDPR wasn't a problem in all this, all I said is Sony is just a big of a problem in all this.

Stop wanking Sony off and hold them accountable ffs.

I just don't understand the lack of basic logic in this thread. Should Sony have a better refund policy? Yes. Does that have anything to do with CDPR fucking up the console versions and more recent things coming to light with game save corruption on PC? No.

There seems to be this clear narrative of making this situation Sony's fault instead of holding CDPR accountable for their clear mishandling, as well as misrepresentation, of this game.

People realise CDPR shipping a busted game they tried to hide and Sony having a shitty non existent refund policy are two separate things right? As in criticizing Sony's refund policy isn't defending the state of Cyberpunk.

Sony did the best they could within their current policies (and the fact that they had virtually no time to prepare since CDPR basically threw them under the bus), Creating a separate refund site for the game. They did it to avoid a PR nightmare while keeping their existing shitty policy of not giving refunds at all.

CDPR shipped a busted game.
Sony have a shitty refund policy.

It's interesting to see how the biggest Sony warriors also have the biggest hate boner for CDPR. I can only speculate why that is, maybe it's about some kind of weird inferiority complex since CDPR is a "PC first" developer.

Also add to it that CDPR made it clearly visible that Sony uses anti consumer practises. People who shows these flaws aren't looked upon in a positive light.

In my eyes they both are at fault, CDPR and Sony noone should be caping for either. The thing is CDPR knew better then to ship that mess out and already knew Sony is all about fucking people when it comes to refunds.

But what I see if people giving CDPR a pass because "they are pc developers" and the pc version is okay so all is well. FoH you can't mislead people and cheat them out of 60+ dollars and try to play like shit happens.

I am 100 percent with you. Being a PC Gamer myself, I still call out CDPR for their shit. A game should be released in a playable state.

It's funny though, because the only difference between your post and mine is i see plenty of people not even mentioning Sony being a part of the problem at all and only blame CDPR.

Yes, CDPR released an abomination disguised as a game, but Sony is the middleman who doesn't like to pay back their customers unless there's a major backlash.

On Xbox One: Everything. Sub 720p resolution. Framerate going down as low as 10FPS and the game even seizing/freezing up in places and taking more than a minute to recover.
On PS4: Everything but doing slightly better than Xbox One. Still framerates are in the low teens. Sub 720p. On top of this all the open world bugs/glitches (check YouTube, there are heaps of different bugs/glitches. Some even affect missions).

On PC and next gen consoles: Runs great but with some bigs/glitches.

Also game saving bug and CDPR advised not to loot or craft too many items as it will break your save. Some shit like that.

Makes me wonder when i wake up tomorrow what other shit will be made public about this game or developer.

On Xbox One the lowest was or is 5FPS and on PS4 is 10-15FPS. Don´t know now with the latest update but from what i saw it runs the same.

Ho-lee Hell, way to miss the entire crux of the issue.

Microsoft DID deny people refunds, my guy. There are posts online about it, all over the place. There are indeed cases of people who tried the game, didn't have too many issues in the first two hours, and then bam, bug city, corrupted saves, etc. Those people wanted refunds too. MS was refusing them. Why? Because, shock and awe, it was OUTSIDE THEIR EXISTING POLICY. The same reason Sony was saying no. Once Sony made this exception, no questions asked, no qualifiers, MS followed suit and did the same, followed by retailers. Have a friend who just returned two physical copies to Best Buy due to their policy.

And no kidding this is about backlash. Most every decision a company makes will be in response to backlash. That's called listening to consumer complaints! This isn't just because Sony is "REEEEEEEEEEEE"-ing over having to give refunds, but even if it was? It's still the pro-consumer thing to do here. It's STILL the responsible thing to do.

But again, you are COMPLETELY ignoring the fact that CDPR intentionally and deliberately lied to EVERYONE around them, investors included, in order to secure their pre-order money, and are now pretending to be the VICTIMS in all of this. And YOU are doing your best to help the company that DID knowingly screw people in an attempt to grasp at a PR smear in console war nonsense that literally has no place in this discussion.

You got a lot of nerve trying to harp on about anti-consumerism and consumer-friendliness in this light, friend.

Except they did not. Poor performance? Yes. Game crushes? Yes. Can you play through the game? Yes.

Sony removed the game only because of its effect on their refund policy. CP2077 quality has nothing to do with it.
Your saves literally corrupt and become unusable if they exceed a certain file size. People have gone into what they assume to be a dry river bed only for water to suddenly load in on them a whopping 15 seconds late. Cars will teleport in and slam around wildly.

It's broken. That's not up for debate.

Again, a refund system within two hours is better than none at all. It is actually common practice.

Do I help CDPR by calling both them and Sony out?

So all of that is acceptable now? So you still recommend people with last gen to get the game? Because you can play through the game? A game can be broken but if you can play through is fine? Is that what are you trying to say?

Guys, those refund policies are shit.
I remember many problematic games in the past, do you remember the collapse of Driveclub? Why didn't Sony pay people back in that case and take the game out from the store? Because Driveclub was a Sony game.

Cd Projekt made a lot of incredible mistakes, but those refund policies still suck

TBH at this stage, waiting 5 days for GOG to refund me, is them talking shit. Why should it take so long when their initial human reply came within an hour of the ticket being raised.

Steam refunds take less than 12hrs.

Well, the game perform the worst on their console compared to XBox and PC. That's why they are trying hard to bury the game across all platforms.

To be fair Cyberpunk 2077 on console is another level. I haven't seen any PC game perform as bad as Cyberpunk 2077 on console. Not even Horizon: Zero Dawn. Closest is Arkham Knights.

Yes, that's what I am trying to say. Mind you - I absolutely think the onus here is on CDPR, not the customer. I think that CDPR is being rightfully punished for trying to hide the console performance, esp. the base Playstation 4 and Xbox.

However this is only half of the story, the other half is what this is about - Sony's terrible and anti-consumer refund system. I do not see any media outlet writing about it with even half the coverage they give to all the troubles with the game.

I agree mate it is a disgrace , my bad for not explaining myself properly. We have had this launches in the past and because no big deal as been made of it (primary on PC) , Gaming companies have got to the point where massive day one patches are the norm and buggy releases are just accepted. Hopefully this will give everyone in the industry a kick up the back side and make sure games isn't released in this state again that's everyone in the industry shouldn't accept it period.

Sorry that's how I meant it by busted, I'm playing through and having a great time (On Series X). I don't think it's "broken" or that it should be delisted.

Both things can be true: Sony has a shit refund policy and Cyberpunk 2077 was rushed and runs like shit necessitating its removal from the PS store to minimize damage to the PlayStation brand.

Game of the Generation.

Cyberpunk is not "broken" on PC. It's got occasional bugs, more amusing than frustrating, but let's not act like this is Ride to Hell or something, the game plays great. People making montages of the goofiest glitches on youtube do not mean the game is a constant barrage of distracting bugs, in reality the game is just fine.

CDPR: Poor innocent the little things. Sony bad, bad. Right?
Sounds like it should have just been a next gen game..
But that is totally unsatisfactory answer to the problem, every poorly performing game will run better in next-gen. It will even run better in the generation that will succeed the XSX/PS5. And by 2077 running in Quantum Stadia 2 it will be almost perfect. This game has been developed targeting the current hardware. That was what CDPR inversors expected: to target 170 million user base, not 250K 3090 owners.

Thing is..

Wouldnt you either?

This whole Thing is blown up, at least in my conception.

A Pull from Sony only means.... buy it MS!.

Are there any Regulations in place? If there is a BuyOut in Future, this whole Situation will be very interresting.
