Best order to play Monster Hunter series?

For someone who wants to start with the Monster Hunter series (I played MH: World, but just some hours), what would be the best order (if any)? I would probably be limiting it too much but I would prefer current consoles only, please. Is there only World, Stories 2 and Rise?

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Either World or Rise will make for excellent starting points. They'll teach you the basics and it won't feel as hardcore as the old games. I started with World myself, and been having a lot of fun with both old and new MonHun games, generations being one of my favs because of the absurd amount of content.
Best way to start would be having a pal that knows his MH stuff and playing with him.

Depends on how many you want to play. My favourite is Generations Ultimate, but the multiplayer dried up a bit when Rise was released. If you're serious, start with 3U & then do 4U, Generations Ultimate, World and Rise. I would just do World and Rise though

Gay porn is where it's at.
don't listen to anyone else, MH World is literally the prefect way to introduce someone to the series, it's super beginner friendly and easy to learn and probably the best one in the series

The newest one, whatever that is at the time. The further you go back the more bullshit you have to deal with, and it's not like there's any sort of story you have to follow.

World is by far the best choice. It's probably the most beginner friendly MH game there is while simultaneously also being the best looking one.
It also has a giant amount of content with the Iceborne add-on and is very cheap.

i would say you should start by playing world, no joke.
The games were always mostly some type of update of the one before, first big breaks are 4 and world so i would say, so just start with world that is the better one of thos 2 with better quality of life things.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
There's no order, you play the latest until the next one comes along. Only people nostalgic for things will actually go back to the previous games if they get any down time from the last one. I guess if you play Rise and want more before Sunbreak or the next new game comes along World is viable.

If you really wanna try older stuff I'd get Tri Ultimate and 4 Ultimate, but be prepared for some real shocking differences, if it's after the new ones. There's no story reason to play older games, they're all stand alone and story is usually understated, except for World's constant silly cinematic nags.

I'd say rise because that's the only mh game that actually grabbed me. I have mhw a legitimate try when it was on game pass and hated it. Tried the ride demo and it instantly clicked

World and Rise is the "modern" Monster Hunter style. No segmented map and more streamline gameplay (no static animation when drinking potion, no paintball, quick gathering). Rise have a demo, maybe try that demo first

I'm playing Monster Hunter Stories on 3DS as my first MH game and it seems like a good side door introduction.
