Boring fuckers will make YouTube videos about anything nowadays huh?

I appreciate anyone on you tube who is more of a consumer advocate, especially when they're generally reasonable about their criticism. I'd say Yong fits that definition. If he's too dry for you, maybe try Laymen Gaming instead. I'm sure their channel will cover the news as well.

None of that shit is for me. I read and decipher my own news as I choose instead of being told by other people.

I can watch the “gameplay” and decide for myself what I think about it, but for some of the weaker minded people, this might be right up those alley.

I was making comments to friends within seconds of first seeing this "gameplay" trailer. No deciphering needed. This is just enjoying some videos while watching people rant about things that I already agree with.

Thats fine, it’s just not for me.

I don’t need an editorialized rant or affirmation that what I like is OK.

Others are different and I respect that.

Footage is representative of Xbox Series X gameplay!
Don't you guys like having XSX dev kits for fuck sake? I know that you probably have been building the game towards some imaginary HW, which does not exist since, but if you unveiled the game, it should at least have fucking something. Or at least fucking PC build running RTX 3080Ti, which you probably alreaddy have as an engineering sample, I don't fucking care.

Thats not gameplay at the end. This is footage taken from the cinamatic trailer. This is not how the game will look :D

I was led to believe from everyone talking in the XBOX trailer thing that it was all in-engine. Obviously not straight-gameplay. You'd have camera behind, HUD, running and talking etc. I kinda hope the game does look like that cinematic in-game.

AC Oddysey and Origins were next-level beautiful for me on current-gen.

No way this game will look anything like those cinematics. This is a cross-gen title and I don´t believe that Ubisoft can pull anything too crazy of.

Regarding Oddysey and Origins: both are beautiful games with an enormous scope but calling them "next-level beautiful" is a little bit too. much in my opinion. At least on consoles. I would consider Last of us 2 to be next level in terms of graphical fidelity.

yeah i mean i dunno anything about megahertz and ray tracing. just visually Origins and Oddyssey are really stunning for me to look at. Though RDR2 still impresses me so idk. i only game on consoles, my PC is used for graphic/video editing mainly

Agreed on that. I just played through Oddysey a couple of weeks ago and certain parts of the game look incredible.

I believe it'll drop from 60 but not 30. Don't care honestly, I'll get it on PC.
I bring it up because on the Xbox page we have this:

Yeah they said next-gen standard is 60FPS. So its on them now to deliver

I don't EVER want to see a console game at 30fps again, unless maybe it's a slower graphic adventure sort of title. The loss of fps is never worth slightly better picture quality, and with new consoles, 30fps should be a thing of the past.

I was baffled by the gameplay trailer. All previous gameplay trailers for AC actually had similar such cinematic camera angles to show gameplay snippets. But this one had those moments cut short and dialed back so much. What happened? Was it some conscious decision to literally not to show anything at all? Are they saving up the actual gameplay reveal at Sony's PS5 event?

no you can blame ubilol, they decide what to put in the event.
do you think xbox heads said no on having a real gameplay video from an important title like the next ac game in their proprietary mini-convention about third party games?

they probably fear backlash because the game is gonna be a viking rehashed copy paste ac odissey with mediocre combat, microtransaction to literally skip the game and infinite bloat once again :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

(joking, the game is gonna sell a shitton as usual no matter the quality)

MS bought the marketing rights, MS wanted to put on a show to beat the competition to the punch, this whole thing was a bad idea. We hardly had any real gameplay from any of the games shown, this was a little over a month earlier than E3 would have been so most of the studios probably didn't have time to get something good together. I'm sure Ubisoft could have said no so they do share in the blame as well but MS were the ones hyping this as the day that was going to change everything etc.

It wasn't microsoft who called that joke a gameplay trailer tho, that is patently false advertisement and it was all ubisoft in their twitter account.

Geoffs a fucking tool for this one. And I was rooting for him and his summer game thingy.

Gameplay means someone is using the controller to control the game. Moving a character, driving a car, controlling a first-person perspective, etc. You get to see how the game will play. What they actually showed was almost all in-game cut-scenes, especially when it came to Assassin's Creed. Not that everything in the show needed to have gameplay, but AC was specifically promoted as a gameplay reveal and ended up essentially being another trailer. Microsoft even apologized for setting unrealistic expectations of what would be shown.

It seems to me that the info on the game's DLC are already out, before a real trailer on its gameplay.

People have been saying this at the start of every new generation. It's always bullshit. You want 60fps on every title? Build a PC.

So who wants to bet this going to be 30 fps on next gen consoles?
30fps by Ubisoft,the article Is in spanish/portuguese i don't know
"Actualmente, podemos garantir que Assassin's Creed Valhalla vai correr no mínimo a 30 FPS. Assassin's Creed Valhalla vai beneficiar de tempos de loading mais rápidos, permitindo aos jogadores ficarem imersos na história e no mundo sem fricções. Por último, Assassin's Creed Valhalla vai beneficiar de gráficos melhorados tornados possíveis pela Xbox Series X, e mal podemos esperar para veres o bonito mundo que estamos a criar na impressionante resolução de 4K."

I think Ubisoft will give gamers a choice between a performance/visual mode. Given that a 2080 TI has a hard enough time hitting 60 FPS at 4K+max settings on PC with current gen games. Compromises are going to have to be made.

I think this has more to do with optimization and engine. we know we have games coming in at 4k@60 and possible for 4K@120 for the Series X. Even if 30FPS not that serious.

Not really a surprise that ACV can't run on XSX at 4K/60fps. On ACO @ 4K/Ultra RTX 2080 gets 37fps average. PS5 will be 10-15% lower than that at the same settings, so ~32fps. Still enough for 4K/30fps/mostly Ultra with a settings tweak or 2.

They didn't mention RT, and I doubt they could get the necessary performance at 4K to implement it. Ubisoft does have their own checkerboard-esque upscaling technique they call Temporal Filtering. In the future I suppose they could use that to implement RT, or use some currently unknown AI-upscaling technique for RDNA 2.

Yong can be entertaining IMO, he isn't monotonous all the time.

This is what I've been saying for days, but no one acknowledges it. It's like no one cares about the reality of the situation and just wants to win internet points for saying Gotcha this one game isn't 60, so MS is bad and Ubi is bad.

I doubt the game will have RT, figure they would've said it by now. Still some hope for a PC implementation, but that might have to wait for their true next gen titles, kinda like how PBR was a big deal for Unity over past titles.

Thanks man, you're too kind!

Hey guys I found an interview with the director who made the gameplay trailer
Host: "Hey, careful we have some fans in the crowd"
Trailer Director: "Yeah, yeah I don't care."
Host: "Say hi to Ubisoft Fanclub"
Trailier Director: "Hi fanboys!"
:messenger_tears_of_joy:

MS Inside Xbox host after seeing a canned in-engine trailer with no gameplay:

"Wow, that gameplay was amazing, I have like a hundred questions!"

July 12 ubi will show its own online show e3 style, so maybe there will be gameplay at least.
dont have any lags with odyssey on gtx 1060 i7 laptop 1080p allmost all maxes. Yes its not a lot fps but no lags which is fine for that style gameplay. Poor pc guys who put lot money into rigs and then not getting good results. When you not expect anything much its just fine.
If not ubi games last year or so i would be bored on gaming side because it was all division and ac origins, odyssey, fc5 as well.
Keep them coming ubisoft.
