The animation and visual style is really unique but the plot was so random that it made the film hard to follow. The pacing was all over the place, some scenes just dragged on. There were too many side characters and subplots that I ended up just started to tune out. I didn't feel any emotional connection to these characters so as a result I did care at all what happened to them throughout the movie
Lu Over The Wall: D
The animation was very dintinctive and the visuals were very vibrant. But I felt the movie was too bloated and had too many subplots. The characters weren't developed at all. I hated how Lu looked in the film especially. The soundtrack was good but the song and dance numbers wasn't catchy all. I was bored while watching this film
The Colors Within: C
I really loved the animation/visual style, it had a watercolor look to it. It was very stunning to watch and was once again unique. The score was actually pretty good this time. This movie was pretty low key in regards to drama. But I found the pacing to be a bit too slow for me and the plot could be aimless at times. The story was underdeveloped and the cast didn't really stick in my head after I was done watching it. This is once again a movie involving music. The subject matter tends to not interest me as much

The animation was excellent throughout with lot of unique visuals. But again not really into musicals, there was some catchy songs but I felt the middle just dragged on where it became a detriment to the film. I really liked the character designs. But the plot was super confusing and the characters while interesting to look at, didn't really stick with me.
I have nothing against musicals but I tend to be very picky when it comes to that genre
Ride Your Wave: B
The animation was very fluid especially in sequences involving water and waves. The visuals were gorgoeus and once again distinctive. The handling of grief/loss was very well done. The romance was really sweet and charming. The story itself was pretty unique. The plot was somewhat predictable but I enjoyed it. This movie isn't really a musical but it does have musical elements to it
I felt the romance in the beginning was a bit rushed that there wasn't enough time to invest in the romance before the tragedy hit. I did love the twist of her dead boyfriend wanting to be a fireman because back when he was drowning, she saved his life. They were both kids at the time. And it's hinted at that ever since she saved him, he would refer to her as his hero whenever talking about her to other people. She didn't remember it but he did. I really liked the rest of the cast but the main theme song isn't catchy at all and just came off as unintentional funny everytime it was sang by someone since they would sing it off key
The themes of her dealing with the five stages of grief due to her boyfriend dying was very well done
Japan Sinks 2020: B+
The first half was better than the second half. I really like how unpredictable it went when it came to the deaths. I liked most of the cast but the daughter and her kid brother were the ones that somewhat annoyed me. The anime was actually surprising with the way it took things. No one gets a truly happy ending. It ended on a bittersweet note. When it came to the animation quality, the quality dropped each episode with some characters having distorted proportions in regards to their body parts. The pacing was great in the first half, it's when the second half comes where it just felt off. The cast itself felt somewhat underdeveloped despite me liking some of the characters. Also there was a weird preachiness towards the middle of the show that just came off as super pretentious. The soundtrack was forgettable too. It's still a good show but it's one of Science Sarus weakest in regards to certain aspects
Velvet Kiss: A
Yes this is smut but the story and cast was very good. The art was fantastic especially the spicy scenes. Didn't overstay it's welcome with the story being told in 32 Chapters
Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!: A+
This was a passionate love letter to anime. The show went into really good detail involving the process of making an anime. It goes into how the creator comes up with concepts, how they use storyboarding and dealing with real world issues like budgets and deadlines. It was also cool to see how they went about making the anime shorts. How they got the sound, what issues that would come up during development, what type of equipment they used, etc. The show was great in the way that it never felt boring showing that process. The animation is very inventive and each episode is packed with stunning visuals. I really liked the three main characters, each one of them was different from each other but had a good dynamic. Despite their differences, they are able to work together and be good friends. The comedy was a lot of fun and it had me laughing out loud at times. The pacing is super good and the anime itself is somewhat short, being 12 episodes long. The music from the Opening to the rest of the anime was fantastic. I plan to read the manga this year since I heard it's still ongoing. Highly reccomanded

this manga might be still be ongoing, last I checked it only had 2 volumes. But still, it was pretty neat. You might like it? It's about a young woman who's a seaplane pilot.
