Did Isolation sell that bad that they can’t go back to a proper horror experience with the Alien franchise instead of these action abominations we keep getting?
According to Wikipedia, the game had sold more than one million copies worldwide as of January 2015. As of March 2015, Alien: Isolation had sold over 2.1 million copies in Europe and the US. I would say that more than warrants a true successor to Isolation; instead we got the mediocre atrocity that is Fireteams.

Alien Resurrection on the PS1 was absolutely mind-blowing. I'd even go so far to say it was a revolutionary game.

It was the first console FPS to use twin sticks for 3D movement, which is a control method used on every console FPS since.

Game doesn't get the respect it deserves. Wish we could get a release on modern consoles or a remaster.

I'd like to meet this one person so I can tell them just how wrong they are.

Sorry for the double post, but I like Aliens more than Alien. IMO, it's one of the rare instances where the sequel is better than the original.

Tell me how wrong I am.

Alien Trilogy was one of my first PS1 games and also probably my first FPS.

That song from the first stage never gets old.
”Piiiiiuuuuuuuiiuuu-iuu-uu”

Scared the ever living shit out of me as a 6-year old.

The control scheme was already there, three years before, in Goldeneye. Of course you need two gamepads, but the idea of moving with the left stick and looking with the right stick was already there. And there are probably arcade machines that predate those.

Alien Resurrection's control scheme was an incredible foresight, although it wasn't until "Halo" till it really took off and even then it took a few years till it was standard. For example, TimeSplitters 2 used both sticks, but not in the way that is standard today.
