They are gonna reveal how drunk they were when they decited to rape the original plot?!
It’sa shame because I love so much of what the remake did with expanding the world and plot. It’s the radical changes that really bothers me. I hope they backtrack and patch the first episode.

I hope they do the opposite. Instead of just abandoning the direction they're going in, they should build it out into something that makes the ending of Part 1 even better.

And that seems to be what they're doing. Kitase said Part 2 is going to give the fans what they expect while also "throwing them off in a good way". At the end of the day, people just need to separate the remake project from the original game. The creators have said a bunch of times that it's absolutely not a replacement and instead the two games are supposed to compliment each other.

Don't get your hope too high, the press loved this shit and the game had a good success, they are gonna double down with the fanfiction level of bullshit in the sequel.

I want them to double down on what they did in the First part plot wise and the Ultimania Interviews seem to indicate as much. Most exciting Remake in years.

Tell us that Jessie is coming back dammit
Thirsty Jessie is having the Top Gun Goose syndrome: she ain’t coming back 😆

It's no longer a remake of you change the plot and you lose the world map.
Let’s just call it a re-imagining. It worked so well for Silent Hill

I don’t really expect much meaty FFVIIR2 news as long as we’re not closer to FFXVI release, honestly...

People need to realize that this game has nothing to do with the original. Just treat it as "The New Adventures of Cloud and his Friends". Unfortunatelly even if you treat it as a completely new game the game still suffers from really bad pacing, problematic combat, tons of filler content that exists only to stretch what should have been a 10 hour game (at best) as well as many other nuances like forced slow-walking after every couple of minutes.

I still can't believe how they fuked the Remake up. You must be really bad in your job to manage that. It looks so cool but the gameplay is average at best.
10 hour less gametime would have improved the game a lot.

You should still be telling the same story, add details, caracters, places, items if you want... But stick to the story.
Did they not stick to the story for part 1? The story up until the end happens exactly as it did in the original, you can tell the writers are dealing with the weight of telling the original story while also wanting to go in slight alteration of the original. If you want the original story go play the fucking original, it’s still there.

I’m liking the path this remake is going because they’re going to flesh out so much of the world, characters and story with incorporating all of the side games and advent children.

Did I touch a sensible cord or something? I think they broke the game by splitting it in part (which is something I was open to, contrarily to many). Sorry I don't agree with all of the liberties the creators took with the original material. and I would have preferred it if they stuck with text only given how bad the English voice acting is in that game.

The new stuff is pretty boring, it should have been left out on the cutting room floor, it would have allowed them to go further in the story in the first game, and keeping some of the back stories would have been much better than what they did. I would have much preferred it if they would have taken us all the way to the first mako reactor or even went all the way to create the first island (until you fight Jenova Birth on the way to Costa Del Sol). We have tons of pretty big games these days, with the resources behind that project Square could have done better than Midgar, which is the boring part of the first game, that's like the intro.

Sorry about getting heated, the only parts I thought were kinda a slog was in the tunnels with aerith and the sewer sections. Other than that, I very much enjoyed the character development. You didn’t like the voice acting? It’s the best dub I’ve seen square do imo. The dialogue felt natural.

I believe when it was announced there were going to be parts it was said that part 1 was only going to be midgar, while there are sections of the game that could of been cut, it worked out in the end though. The avalanche scenes were incredible actually making you care about the characters, compared to the original.

While it would of been nice to get to the open world, I don’t think we will see that until Part 2 which I have a feeling is going to be way less linear.

I will buy 3 extra copies to help make sure they do.

The Exclusivity of FF7 Remake on Playstation ends this month or next month(which is next week) i believe.

It would be a PERFECT move for Sony to offer the game and announce it today on PS+ and tomorrow during the state of play show a quick teaser of Part 2 saying 2022 (which would likely be delayed to 2023 )

To each his own. The content might have been questionable for some, but the execution of it all was great.
Agreed. I can understand it not being what people wanted (although they had clarified what it was going to be in media several times before it released,) but it really wasn't that confusing or anything that didn't make sense in what they were trying to do. Chapter 18 was a top tier finale.

Oh man... I respect your opinion but I gotta agree to disagree here. Other than the squeeze loading slow downs I'm in love with this game. I thought the battle system is probably one of the best hybrids between action and strategy to date in an interactive medium.

It really is. I was skeptical at first, but after playing the demo live at a show, I was blown away with the perfect mix of action/tactical/cinematography

Beautiful and functional in one package.
