Dafoe was named in the initial rumor as one of the people being approached/in discussions for a role in JL/WB-DC movies.

Javier Bardem, Jackie Earle Haley, Frances McDormand, Joel Edgerton, Rosamund Pike, Bill Nighy and Willem Dafoe have also been approached and/or are in discussions for undisclosed roles.

I don't believe it but based on the anime bit:

I think you could make a fucking awesome Yu Yu Hakusho adaptation using the Chapter Black story. "Westernize" it, change character names, don't worry about trying to fit in all of the character development beforehand.

Give it an approach like Kingsmen or something. Protagonist is introduced to demons/spirit detective role. Learns the ropes, you can reference points from early episodes in a montage. Take it from there with the Chapter Black arc.

Nausicaa as a "Lord of the rings" type story? I don't buy it. There really isn't a story in Nausicaa that you can expand into an epic fantasy adventure like Tolkeins work.

- Willem Dafoe is playing Cleric in Justice League. He brings Superman back to life.

- The opening scene of Justice League takes place in a apocalyptic future. Batman doesn't return and Barry and the resistance assume he is dead. The resistance members are Flash, Aquaman, Mera, Black Canary, Cyborg and Wonder Woman. Eventually the resistance get attacked and killed by Darkseid's forces and Barry travels back in time to give Bruce a warning about the future.

- Atlanteans and Amazons hate each other due to a huge war that took place ages ago.

- Barry and Victor went to the same high school.

- Amanda Waller has a small role in Justice League.

- Scott Snyder recently submitted a script for the Man of Steel sequel. The early script has Parasite and General Sam Lane as main antagonist and Manchester Black having a cameo.

-Cyborg's movie is going to be replaced by Titans and will be moved to October, 2020. The Man of Steel sequel is expected to take its release date.

- A Crime Syndicate movie has been discussed which would lead to them being the villains for Justice League 3.

- Warner Bros wants another Batman trilogy with Ben Affleck directing.

- There are no plans to release a Justice League Dark movie anytime soon.

Another bunch of rumours from 4 chan:

The first act of the Justice League focuses on Batman trying unite the team. Only Flash, who is a Batman fan,officially joins the team. Later, Batman, Flash and Wonder Woman go to Atlantis to recruit Aquaman with Mera. Orm is very hostile and attacks Diana, Batman and Flash with some guards but Aquaman stops the fight.
At the beginning of the film, Bruce poses as an interested investor for STAR Labs and tries to hack into the files to learn more about Victor while Silas gives him a tour of the facility which includes a machine that holds a miniature sun but is blocked by Victor himself. This leads to a flashback scene of Victor's origin.
Darkseid's army is lead by his General Steppenwolf along with Kanto, Granny Goodness and The Furies. We will see Apokolips in this film before Darkseid launches his attack on Earth. Deesad also has a small cameo. Darkseid's look is inspired by his Darkseid War look with a combination of his classic look. He will be around 9 feet tall. At the end of the first act, Darkseid launches his first attack on Earth. His army of Parademons attack several major countries. Steppenwolf along with Kanto leads an assault on Atlantis that leads to Queen Atlanna's death (who is actually stabbed by Orm with one of the Parademons' weapons and blames them) and the death of hundreds of Atlanteans. The Furies and Granny Goodness attack the White House. Victor starts to lose control to the Mother Box in his systems but manages to calm himself only to see Silas die. Darkseid then appears and destroys Coast City with his Omega Beams. A Green Light shines in the middle of space. An enraged Hal Jordan makes his way to Earth.

Batman, Flash and Wonder Woman try to take the fight to Darkseid but are overwhelmed even after Aquaman and Mera join. Hal Jordan shows up and attacks Darkseid only to get his arm broken. The team is about to be executed when they are teleported by Cyborg.
Bruce tells the team that Darkseid's army is attacking major cities first and they need a place to regroup. Bruce and the team go to the Kent farm and come up with a plan that involves Cyborg reversing the Boom Tubes and teleporting the armies back to Apokolips but the plan is a long shot because Victor can't fully control his abilities and is suicide. Aquaman and Green Lantern are also driven by revenge tell Cyborg to teleport them back to the battle. Bruce eventually visits Clark's grave and talks about how he still failed him in the end. Cyborg shows up and talks to Bruce but says someone else is with them as his systems pick up a third heartbeat only to realize is coming from Superman's grave. The teams digs up the body only to see Clark hasn't decomposed and has grown hair. They formulate a plan to dip Clark's body in the miniature sun at STAR Labs in hopes that it could fully recover Superman.

Cyborg eventually teleport the team to STAR Labs but is swarmed by Parademons. Eventually Darkseid is informed of Superman and sends his Parademons to the location. The team manages to throw Superman into the miniature sun and he recovers and dismantles all the Parademons in the lab. Superman then adresses the world thanks to Cyborg and challenges Darkseid and his army to meet the Justice League at Coast City.
The team fights Darkseid and his elite. Mera and Wonder Woman kill Granny Goodness, Stompa and severely incapacitate the other Furies. Aquaman beats Steppenwolf but Parademons get in his way and prevent him from killing him, Flash beats Kanto and Superman, Green Lantern, Cyborg and Batman take the fight to Parademons. Darkseid then takes the battle to them and beats them to a pulp but is eventually barely defeated by Superman. Darkseid leaves with his army and vows revenge for the humiliation that he suffered at the hands of Superman and the Justice League.

If you're going to assemble the greatest superheros on your earth you're gonna need a threat to fight. So what - or who - is the threat that the Justice League will face in Justice League? Is it Darkseid, who was heavily hinted at in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? Is it an evil Superman, as also heavily hinted at in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? Or is it... a minor character who only showed up in BvS' deleted scenes?

Yup, it's Steppenwolf. When the deleted scene of Lex Luthor meeting a monster in his Kryptonian warm bath first popped up online the internet thought that monster was Steppenwolf. I couldn't believe it - the monster barely looked like Steppenwolf, and in fact his whole aesthetic was nothing like that of the New Gods, the corner of the DC Comics universe from which Steppenwolf arises. But I was wrong! Boy was I wrong.

I used to be such a DC fanboy at one point and this continuing trainwreck is heartbreaking.

If that is even remotely similar to how the movie is I will throw my hat into the "blow up the DC movie universe ring". Superman gone for most of the movie while Batman does a bunch of stuff, Aquaman and Wonder Woman being blood-thristy, and Cyborg being a taxi. Lord, somebody with a time machine just go back and stop Frank Miller from ever writing 300.

No way any of those anime properties make any money as live-action adaptations. And WB is so risk averse right now they're not going to sink tens if not hundreds of millions in any of those.

The Hanna Barbera "Avengers" though, will be FUCKING INCREDIBLE if it happens. And that's only my feeling about it, I don't know if that will be profitable or popular with the general public. Most of those cartoons have been out of the public spotlight for too many years now, and even the new Scooby cartoons like Mystery Inc. haven't been too popular for Cartoon Network (despite, Mystery Inc. being the best fucking television in recent years). Yogi Bear did $200M world-wide, albeit right at the height of the classic cartoon adaptations like Smurfs and The Chipmunks, so maybe there still is some broader interest. That title though (S.C.O.O.B.) has got to go.

But a cinematic world where all of these characters exist is a dream come true. When I was growing up I used to go to an amusement park outside of Cincinnati called Kings Island (still there). Their characters were all Hanna Barbera, and they had this awesome boat ride with animatronics of all the characters. To see a movie like that done well would be fantastic. Unfortunately, they aren't going Roger Rabbit, but more like Space Ghost, Johnny Quest, and stuff. And I have a feeling if they are going to have a title like S.C.O.O.B., he's probably not going to be a dog but rather some kind of robot to ground the characters to reality. Just give me the Herculoids, Samson and Goliath and Frankenstein Jr. and I'll be happy.

Disney had the (strange) benefit of not having access to successful franchise films to follow.

The Spider-Man and X-Men films, while successful, aren't part of their collection, so they could not (and indeed, could reasonably be expected not to) try to maintain the tone, characters, or continuity of those films.

Furthermore, being out their biggest properties freed them to start with (at the time) some relative unknowns from a public perspective: Ironman and Thor. The general public wasn't going into an Ironman or Thor movie with any real expectations regarding the characters or the universe, so there was a lot of freedom there.

DC's kind of stuck with the "Nolanverse", because like it or not they would have had to wait another ten years for people to not immediately associate Batman with that. They have to deal with those expectations going in. They also have to deal with the fact that their big-name characters are still in-house, and those characters are, themselves, bringing huge expectations (particularly Superman) with them in film.

The end result is that Marvel is pretty much free to say, "Fuck it, let's just do Black Panther and Guardians of the Galaxy!" whereas DC's kind of stuck wringing their hands and saying, "Fuck, how are we going to do Batman and Superman?!"

They've already stated GL isn't in JL1 and maybe not even JL2. That right there blows this rumor up.

But would be pretty based if they are actually keeping GL a secret and he is in the movie

I mean, the entire thing is pretty much being shot on a sound stage, so they aren't worried about people snapping pics of the set.

Aquaman already has trouble being taken seriously, so in his movie you have his main villain be a guy named Ocean Master.







These rumors are absolutely legit because that is the most WB thing ever.

Because the person behind the Marvel movies is Kevin Feige and the person behind the DC movies is a fucking crazy objectivist named Zack Snyder.

Maybe Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman will be good, but it's a fucking shame this universe's core through-line is being handled by an idiot.

I wish they'd at least corroborate their story together.

Space Jam 2 is dead in the water in April. But what's that? It's been greenlit with LeBron James and director Justin Lin. Black Canary is said to be alongside Flash, Aquaman, Mera, Cyborg, and Wonder Woman but the fanfic paragraphs rumor doesn't even mention her anywhere. Vice versa with Hal Jordan.

I actually like the rumors in the OP (not that ridiculous fanfic one though). Mostly because it would've taken DC like 10 movies less than Marvel to introduce more than 2 female heroes to the team.

They need to bring Superman back at least halfway through though.
