UPDATE 2:

I successfully created a load of custom resolutions from 640x480 all the way up to 2048x1536 @75hz; very happy that the Sunix converter adapter worked!

Oddly, while zelda oot worked full screen 640x480 through the emulator, it didnt appear in the list of resolutions under the Display Settings. (only from 800x600 and up was showing).
Any ideas how to sort this out?

Ok this is a bit odd...

While it seems i created the resolutions 1920x1440 and 2048x1536, it doesnt actually change the monitors output resolution (1800x1440).
It changes the "Desktop Resolution".... which seems superficial.

Might be the limit of my setup.

FINAL UPDATE...

I fixed it!

Through Nvidias Control Panel, I was creating custom resolutions with some success up to 1800x1440. But I couldnt get past this.

So I thought I'd try a different Timing setting other than AUTO and selected GTF with a conservative resolution of 1920x1440 60hz; it worked!
Then i upped it to 70, 75, 80hz and they all worked at 1920x1440 up to 80hz!

Lastly, I tried 2048x1536 at 70 and 75hz, which also worked! However it didnt like it at 80hz at that resolution.

Time to play!
