‘Evergate’ Coming This Year
Developer Stone Lantern Games and publisher PQube have announced that their upcoming 2D puzzle platformer Evergate will release on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC via Steam sometime this year. The developers describe the title as a challenging puzzle experience that will provide plenty of action and feature a heartwarming tale. Music has been designed to be full of emotion, and it should help draw players into the world, along with the stunning artwork. There is a demo available on Steam if you’d like to give it a try before release.
In Evergate, players will guide a child-like soul named Ki as she makes her way to the Afterlife. You’ll get to discover her past across lifetimes and learn of her connection to her Kindred Spirit. It’s up to players to guide Ki to save the Afterlife by channeling her power into her Soulflame. Alongside the 2D puzzle platforming elements, Evergate will feature an align to shoot mechanic not seen in any entries in the genre.
Unleash your Soulflame, harness energy trapped within crystals to solve puzzles, find lost memories, and save your kindred spirit. For those who enjoy cerebral puzzles that require skill-based execution, Evergate will be for you. The ultimate goal of each puzzle is to reach the gate at the end by any means necessary. Completing these puzzles will unlock power ups, and you’ll be able to choose a direct straightforward route, or a more elaborate one for more challenge. Other features are as follows:
