Hey guys, long time lurker of Gaf, then ERA during the switch. Got permabanned there in one of the angry joe threads and I just want some honest opinion here if I deserved a permaban right away??

I did mess up by not taking enough time to understand that the woman didn't actually accuse Joe of sexual assault and went off on that. Someone called Joe a garbage human and I thought well I should reply. I think I did deserve some punhishment here, but a PERMANENT ban?? Damn...that's not the way to teach, especially since I never even had a warning or anything of that nature.

I got banned for something similar back in the THQ Nordic cancelling drama. Basically, they lack any kind of critical thinking. The reaction of ERA created by the accusations against angry Joe would have anyone think it actually was a sexual assault charge.
So I would say yes, you should have read the story thoroughly, but given the millions of sexual allegation threads this month, I can understand its only normal to fill in the blanks.
Permabanned? No way. Banned for a week? No way. Just a Simple misjudgement, as you had no il-intention. Problem at ERA is, and even if you're on their side - if you're not wanting to hang someone, you're against them. Oh, and I don't think they liked being called a "mob", even though thats an accurate description of their attitudes imo.

I've never played Catherine, but the turmoil in regards to its behavior towards the trans community makes me hesitate to purchase it as I don't feel comfortable supporting bigotry. I haven't kept up with the topic however so I may have missed out on updates in regards to its content.

It's EXTREMELY transphobic, made worse by the inclusion of the Full Body specific content, especially the true ending. Erika wasn't perfect, and there's aspects that Full Body did fix of her in the Rin path (which was present in the Japanese Full Body version, though Rin themselves is a bit of a mess), but there's so many other problems that Full Body introduced that can't be overlooked. It's literally not just the stuff carried over from the old game.
Like, there's a reason me and some other people refer to this version of the game as "Catherine: Full Transphobia", because of how it doubled down and made some things worse.

Era's slogan should be "fall in line" plastered right at the top of the site. What a fucking tool. First of all, a prostitute played him perfectly. She made him think he's that one special guy and probably offloads a huge chunk of his income to her. They prey on the weak. I wonder how loving she'll react if he says he's broke.
And now this swimming stuff. I don't know, but if you had a drowning experience at that age it might've been wise for the parents to seek help and actually teach him how to swim to ensure it won't happen again.. But reading how he views is relationship he obviously has no self esteem whatsoever, so it all comes together well. Guy fits right in there.
