The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has some additional underwater scenery

We ain't outta here in ten minutes, we won't need no rocket to fly through space
Feels like they either removed underwater movement from the game during development, or were at least just saving it for the sequel.

Alternatively, the water shader was supposed to be more transparent, but was changed later on.

Seems like a wast of resources if you can't actually see it.
Most of the time it is the results of cut features that couldn't be fully added. So it might have been a waste of resources to actually try to remove it.

no way!!! gonna grab my VR and check that shit out.

its amazing how detailed the world is, stuff around every corner.

I wonder if at one point the devs wanted to offer diving and water exploration but were cut short. Iron Boots have been a staple of the 3D games for awhile.

I think they wanted to prioritise the feeling of being out in the open above all else. Besides the Shrines and towns, there's very little about the game that's internal, claustrophobic, or subterranean. Everything's big and broad and about selling that ever-tantalising vista. Even when you're in the Divine Beasts, you can see the world stretching around you.

I adore BotW, but now that we've had our fill of epic landlubbing, let's see what's underneath those waves.

Yeah. If sequel reuses the map or most of it, it could be vastly expanded by underwater exploration and/or decent underground system of caves, tunnels, sewers, crypts ect.

Please let there be diving in the sequel

yes!, i want caves! i want to enter on the skirt of a mountain and exit on the top looking at a valley or something.
I remeber Witcher 3 having some places like that.

Is it good, like real Nintendo quality good? Also, how would you expect the community to thrive in the future?

Couldn't know because i can't run cemu as my cpu is dog shit. currently waiting on more ryzen tests to buy a new CPU to finally be able to join the new age and emulation. Probably do that next week. So i can report on it more then. But because this topic already existed and it's just PC emulation modding i didn't felt like making a new thread but just kick it off to get some awareness for botw projects basically for people that are interested.

However friends of mine that do mod in games are hyped about it and tell me a lot of modders are interested and actually producing content. It's booming basically now. community is getting bigger by the day and those people don't leave fast even remotely.. Nothing that is open world like botw ever gets left alone on PC and the community is pretty healthy atm. Lots of projects are busy to be developed.

That dungeon is one of the dungeons that got created. And with tools endless content can be pushed for it relative quick which are also in development.

The creator of that dungeon made it in two weeks i think, he made another dungeon mod that is highly praised as OOT feel and Something people felt they missed in BOTW. They love it basically.

Friends of mine played it and they liked it a lot also and can't wait for more content.

So there's that.

Here's another dungeon baked in 2 weeks.

Sky themed dungeon.

Really if you watch the video it makes shrines feel like dull filler stuff.

Keep also in mind its not unusual a lot of developers or the original games are modding on PC to get more out of there own game because they actually also play there own game. This happens all the time. PC people are in general also console players and just want more out of there favorite games.

So yea there's also that.

It looks pretty bright to me.

Wow, sounds like it could possibly become Skyrim tier in terms of mods support. Are there any quest related mods yet?

I feel like it is safe to embrace cemu as of now, before I do have concerns about the legal ways to emulate it, and how having no official support means limited communities. I'm positive though this could turn up bigger and bigger in the later years, BOTW have such a good foundation for amazing open world gameplay loop, it's hard not to feel enticed. Really hope somehow Nintendo could turn a blind eye on this to attract more modders.

So, there’s stuff underwater like pretty much every game? I’m not seeing the giant revelation here unless I’m just missing something?
