30 fps is no way to debut the power of your system. I'm no tech guru and don't have the slightest clue why they have this "supercharged pc" yet they can't achieve the fps I have enjoyed for 10 years now on pc. One thing I do know is that the difference between 30 and 60 fps is huge and I would take 60 fps over 1080p any day.

Fallon has always been abysmal at playing games live. I remember when he was playing Uncharted 3 he claimed that he had been playing 2 that weekend, but couldn't figure out how to jump. He also died looking at the ocean in Killzone 3. Hulst's face was priceless when that happened.

I went and looked for this. All I could find was this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbpxC3QOYiU

It ends right when he falls into the ocean. Still so hilarious especially with how Hulst is playing along with him anyway and his comment about wearing the 3D glasses to the club....

leader of the black hand probably, it's written all over the information screens when he walks before the explosion

All I could find about this is an NPC saying it in one of the trailers... Anything else at all guys?

should decoy;48091158]How about vehicle is Jets and tanks in your MP? Don't you want that? Like I said before, KZ should go after the BF3 crowd, not COD. Unless they do a 60fps game :p
It should go after neither crowd though there is much more crossover from BF3. No vehicles; no jet packs. Destruction and squad abilitie. would be great. Bigger maps with flanking could work.

Fallon can't play shit for being a "gamer." LOL
Maybe next time when demoing a shooter Sony should just let Fallon use this

Haha, that could help. I don't really watch many of the times he shows off games, but he wasn't "horrible" with BF3 (linked to exact moment).

Link to YouTube video showing actual gameplay footage (with someone actually controlling the action on camera) that matches the nice pretty video we saw at the reveal.

Also... looking around here and at other forums... I must be an odd person. I like KZ and Halo and a bunch of other action games!

I have no doubt it was real gameplay. I was just showing why I am a little skeptical since of their shannagans they've pulled in the past. Also, until I see an actual ps4 running the game, it's on a PC for the time being.

I do want that only because the design of Killzone's vehicles are really cool. However Killzone Multiplayer has always been infantry focused and that's how it should stay. Perhaps if they have enough resources to make vehicles a separate mode (sort of like how BF3 has all infantry maps and large vehicular maps) without lowering the quality.

Find a way to balance out spawn grenades and its perfect.
Why not simply do what Battlefield 3 and Dust 514 do? Battlefield 3 makes them only apply to your squad while Dust 514 makes them limited in the amount of spawns they can provide, but both make them destructible.

Did people talk about the jimmy fallon episode where they showed killzone? I guess for people who had any doubts they were actually playing the thing?

for people who wanted to see how it'd look on Vita over remote play, I recommend watching the 1080p vid posted on GG's youtube channel on the Vita Youtube App, That screen is so good, my jaw dropped again :)

All pc games would have this visual quality if developers had not continued to make games for 7 year old hardware and then cheaply port it to pc. console plebs... 30 fps does bother me in a weird OCD way, especially now that i am used to playing games at 144 fps on my pc.

Look at that high poly army boot the ISA soldiers wearing. That is next gen.

This. 30 fps in 2013 is a shame.

For me, this is icing on the cake! :D

Yup. Reflections were heavily used throughout the demo. This is part of the reason Crysis 2 in DX11 looks so fantastic. Those reflections in metal, glass, rain soaked pavement and puddles, go a long way toward that next gen feel.

Also, has GG said anything on the 4gb or 8gb thing officially? I see a lot of people in different threads saying they likely built this thinking they only had 4GB. Was the 8GB a really recent change by Sony?

Why shoot for 60 when ridiculous people in here say 30 "feels better" and "has more emotion" - absolutely laughable.
Is there any chance that if the current build is on 4GB's of RAM, that the 8GB bump will allow it or make it easier to tackle? I have no clue how that works.

That said, I honestly don't care much about 60fps as long as the game does not dip below 30fps ever. Also, if 60fps means a significant visual sacrifice, then I don't care for it, either.

I don't need a twitch shooter experience, and that's the "main advantage" of 60fps in a shooter. That said if it can be done, that would be great, but it's not something i'm enraged about, personally.

I prefer 30fps in console games. So do some devs.

On PC I can get 60 more often and that's great, but if its between cranking it to max settings at 30, and just high or medium at 60, I will crank it to max every single time.

On a closed platform, give me 30fps 1080p and push the graphics as far as possible.

Nice. Didn't even notice that.

Those reflections are present throughout the video on almost all metallic surfaces. My favorite graphical feature of Crysis 2 DX11.

When the player goes through the scanner in the beginning you can also see these real time reflections in the glass.

I think it's one of those things that you don't notice specifically, you just know that the image with it looks better than the one without it. Only once you start looking at why do you see just how much they are doing.

Yea, looks great.

I just showed my wife the gameplay demo (she doesn't game at all) and she said "That's a game?? I thought it was some sci-fi movie". Cute lol.

I am sure they could achieve 60fps at the expense of graphic.

It just depends on the developer. Guerrilla prefers to push graphics and image quality as much as possible rather than compromise those aspects for 60fps.

I really don't mind the 30 fps on consoles. It also feels smoother than pc games running at 30 fps (double vsync). I tried with some pc fps games, and it's not until adjusting to a dynamic framerate capped at 40-45 fps were it starts to feel similar. Crysis was an exception though. They use some sort of frame blurring or something? But I digress.

Looking forward to Killzone SF and see its progression @ E3.

Actually it is. Since visual fidelity is easier to market then a higher frame rate.

I understand your skepticism. But don't you think it might be clouding your judgment just a tad bit. It was most likely running on a dev kit and not some GTX680 clad PC.

I hope they change up the gameplay for SP. Adding more melee animations and a fresh coat of paint isn't enough to interest me. I wouldn't mind a more stealth oriented game. Also, I really hope their new IP isn't a shooter.

Anyone has the gif the stair case going down, with spots of light in the ground showing volumetric light and dust, where I throw a grenade and it makes a really sexy little cloud of smoke after it ? That part blew my mind. Smoke particle porn.

Hopefully, not everybody think like you. Terrible. fps affect dramatically the gameplay, which is the most important thing in gaming (at least action titles). 30 fps feels choppy. Like going from SD to HD.

Here are a few more examples throughout the video of the realtime reflections. They are a lot easier to notice when YOU are actually playing as opposed to watching someone play because you are then more cognizant of its reaction to your input. In Crysis 2 is constantly gave me "Wow" moments at the graphics. And it seems KZ SF uses them more liberally.

It really helps give materials a feeling of being seated in the world.

I was personally hoping GG would debut their new IP as the launch title and save Killzone until they could really learn the system a bit more, maybe a year or 2 into the system's life. Maybe they could have cranked out 60fps by then, or maybe they would have just said fuck it and used any extra power or tricks they learned to push more graphics.

1080p > 60fps

But keep in mind, launch game...

360/PS3 launch games looked terribad. I'm impressed how we actually have a game which looks next-gen.

1080p > 60fps

.

Nah
As much as I hate 720p and as much as it belongs in the year 2000 instead of 2013 , responsive controls >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> jaggies and visual artifacts

Most games were never going to be 60 fps though so at least the improved graphics don't go to waste behind 720p shittyness.

I think they're saving the surprises for E3. Consider this meeting the initial show of force. They'll adjust their plans according to MS's response.

We should reflect upon the ramification of those images. Don't you agree?

Don't get me wrong - I love 60FPS. However, I can't stand 720p. It's possible to have a game with responsive controls despite this sacrifice in framerate - just look at NFSMW. It's a 30FPS game yet input lag is really low.

I wouldn't mind an unlocked FPS similar to God of War 3 - it hovered at 45-50FPS for much of the game. Coupled with motion blur, it can give the 'feel' of 60FPS.

Though I suppose GG are left with the choice of maximum graphics or maximum framerate.

Joe Gamer can't even tell the difference, sad but true. So they're probably doing the right thing to get that WHIZ BANG BOOM wow factor.

I don't buy this personally. I think if you took their COD games and made them 30fps all of a sudden they would immediately know something's wrong, even if they didn't know what specifically was wrong. They would feel the sluggishness that wasn't there before.
