It will also be the first Sony Xperia phone to come with a glass back

What the fuck is wrong with people. This shit is NOT COOL.

I thought having a glass back was a terrible idea now everyone is doing it? Also 6 inches puts it at a tablet territory right?

Having a glass back IS a terrible idea. Trends dont change that. NFI why people are doing that stupid shit. And apparently its 5" and not 6.

That Screen looks Gorgeous.

It really does.

No thanks. It will probably look laughably big in use. The only thing I want in my pants that is 6 inches is my fully erect penis.

Well the Galaxy Note's do ship with a packed-in bluetooth headset. I'm sure other companies are going to do the same for their phablets. Just keep it in a big pocket/holster/backpack when you're not using for the smart smartphone functions.

So Sony is copying Samsung by copying Apple.

There was nothing wrong with the Xperia T design, but this is nice too, even if generic.

Oh my goodness, someone please change the thread title, Yuga is NOT 6" but 5". So many people who don't read the thread...

Everytime i think im ready to buy a new phone, news of a slightly newer better one comes out.

From S3 > Note II > Nexus 4 > HTC 1080p one > Yuga....

like...im too scared to jump the gun and actually get one!

It's really not. For most people it might be but there is market for six inchers. Note II has proven this. I just hope Sony will have something like Spen in their 6" mobile.

Agreed. This is a little bit off topic as the phone being discussed here is not 6-inch, but what COULD tempt me to buy the 6-inch Sony phone is if they included a stylus, like you said, and integrated PS4 compatibility into it to combat the Wii U. But as it is I'm still wary of upgrading to the 5-inch phones, much less the 6-inch "phones". They would need something compelling.

Just saw these rumored specs of the Yuga:

- 1080p 5inch Screen with White Magic & Sensor on Touch and Mobile Bravia Engine 2 + Digital Touch
- 2GB RAM 1.5GHZ APQ8064 Quad core
- Water/Dust Resistant IP55/57
- 13 Megapixel Exmor RS Camera, Cybershot Superior Auto Mode, HDR video
- 2400mAh Battery
- Shatter Proof Glass front and back
- Clear Audio+
- 4G LTE
- 32 GB ROM + Micro SD expansion

The 5-inch 1080p screen with White Magic (readable in sunlight!) and it being Water/Dust resistant are absolutely my favorite things from here. It's like they combined the Xperia T, P, and V into one awesome, next-generation device. I just hope it is the Yuga that comes to the US (its twin brother, Odin, is apparently not water/dust resistant) and that they increase the battery to 2800mAh as zomgbbqwtf posted before.

Jesus. Those specs...

However, a 6 inch screen is just insane if it comes in that size.

Yuga is not 6-inch, there will be another Xperia that is a 6-inch competitor to the Note coming in the middle of 2013.

I've no idea why they choose not to include WhiteMagic in Xperia S/T/V/etc. The screen of my friend's Xperia P looks incredible.

Yuga/Odin will probably be my next phone if they deliver on these specs.

Sony Yuga and Odin dimensions leak: 5-inchers more compact than the Droid DNA

By no we've heard almost everything that has to be known about the upcoming phones with 5" Full HD resolution screens from Sony, codenamed Yuga and Odin. Well, it is actually the same device, just that the Yuga will be the Asian version, likely heading for Japan with its waterproof body, and the Odin will be the global edition of the 5-incher.

We've even seen claimed pictures of the devices, but didn't know the precise size of the thingies until today, when an XDA-Devs forum member leaked the numbers.

Dimensions of the Sony C650X "Odin" are expected to be 131.6mm x 69.7mm x 9.8mm thick, and the weight only 5.04oz (147g). The Asia-bound Sony C660X Yuga is said to be taller but thinner at 138.6mm x 71mm x 8.1mm, and weighs even less at 140g, despite its alleged waterproof body. To put the numbers in perspective, the HTC Droid DNA is 5.55 x 2.78 x 0.38" (141 x 70.5 x 9.73 mm), so Sony's 5" phones are shaping up to be even more compact.

The global Odin version is expected to feature an IR blaster, like Sony's Xperia tablets, for serving as your TV, home stereo and so on remote control device as well, which would be pretty svelte.

So it looks like the smaller, IR-blasting Odin will be for the US market and a few other markets, while the water-resistant Yuga will be for the global market. I still don't like the strategy of releasing two different (if slightly) models for certain markets, but the size and specs of this makes them both very promising. I can't decide which one I would get.

Odin - 131.6mm x 69.7mm x 9.8mm
Yuga - 138.6mm x 71mm x 8.1mm
Droid DNA - 141 x 70.5 x 9.73 mm
SIII - 136.6mm x 70.6mm x 8.6 mm

Odin is smaller than an SIII with a 5-inch screen. :O

calling these things phones are a mis nomer at this point

there mini touch computers with any where internet and media features and personal digital assistants etc.

call it giganomus or w/e but it's the difference between carrying a tablet or a laptop

or a spacious as fuck "Phone" that does alot of the things a/ netbook, laptop and tablet does but it's still more portable thanks to it's 4G radios etc

6" 1080p bezel less "phones" ftfw

I have the sony xperia T and the 12MP camera isn't anything to shout for, so I wouldn't get the hopes up about that camera size.

I want one device to replace the first 5 and just keep a surface pro like tablet/laptop ...

is my ultimate reason for a 6-7" "phone"

I need a "wizardly and trolling" phone stat!

only way that might happen is if google/windows/Apple glasses 5.0 in 2020 has a crazy res of 10,000x10,000 and replaces your existing desktop/laptop and every computing device you own including your phone and powerful enough to run Crysis 7 and lsat a month in battery life.

which I suspect it will in the future....

so one pair of those cyber glasses can replace all those devices in the future

I for one welcome out visor overlords.

Is the S4 Snap Drag Quad Core processor even optimised now?

Looking at all the benchmark tests, it seems as if the dual core custom A6 processor spanks all S4 phones at the minute

Added to the fact they have shit battery life, I am not looking forward to Sony's efforts..not one bit

why 4.99" ?

i can only speculate that the phone will still remain in the 4inch class of phones.
it will probably be the same size as the S3 but with the larger screen. (less bezel)

also you should have noted the ppi of 441. Now they can claim it as the best ppi
than all the other phones. (by 1) bullet points are the selling tools.
