Win 8 64bit here too, 6950 for me. Crashes a few seconds after I start it up. I take this as a sign for me to go back to Win 7 again. I've had enough of Win 8 for now.
Probably been mentioned before but I think they should add some kind of mouse control for controllers when a launcher for a game pops up. Kind of like that program I think was called Pinnacle Game Profiler or something, but disable it once the game launches.
yeah its kinda funny, i click "PLAY SKYRIM"
skyrim loader pops up with a mouse cursor...cant move it
back to square one
CATASTROPHE!
It was a low rumbling, like the cartoon effect for an upset/hungry stomach. Really weird.
Also, did anyone find a fix for the custom Steam icons not showing up?
tee heeI don't get it...how do I get Steam onto my TV? I thought that was the point of this.
That's not what completely solid means.Completely solid on W8 for me. CTD when closing BPM occasionally though

No kidding hey. Must be the operating systems fault for this BETA software having issues. Time to throw the computer in the garbage. Derp.
I could hold your mouth open as I drop some phlegm down your throat...but I think I would rather just kiss you.Close XboxStat.exe in the Task Manager. Also, disable it as a startup application via CCleaner or something.
Can you access the video library?
/edit trying to watch videos through this thing sucks. Doesn't default to 1080p and they don't seem to load correctly either.
Hi Everyone!
It's been a busy couple of days for those of us on the Big Picture team. Thanks for being part of our release and helping us test.
You may have noticed we released a quick stealth update last night to address a couple common failures and to gather more detail on some crashes.
Tonight we have our first big update which should fix some more of the most common crashes and bugs. You should see the update available in the next hour or so.
Here are the changes in tonight's update:
- Fixed displayed price on discounted transactions being higher than the actual transaction price (user was charged correct amount for these transactions).
- Added available date to store for coming soon items
- Fixed navigating to install demo and related buttons for games in the store
- Fixed navigating from store front page to packages
- Fixed Big Picture crashing on GPUs supporting on DX 9.1/9.2 shader levels
- Added clearer failure messages for various startup/D3D failures
- Fixed zoom in web browser getting stuck on an input control if you dismissed the Daisywheel
- Fixed daisywheel to work on Google+ (html5 div contenteditable support)
- Added support for F5 refresh in the browser
- Fixed the browser to go to the URL instead of searching if the entered text starts with www.
- Fixed display of store featured categories and genres for languages other than English
- Fixed in-game screenshot bind in the library view so it updates if you rebind the key
- Fixed display of custom images for non-steam games in the big picture grid view
- Fixed assert during big picture friends or group chat
Additionally, we are aware of the issue with crashes on Windows 8 combined with the latest AMD drivers. Well be working with AMD to try to get the driver crash fixed. For now, rolling back to older (8.97.10.6) drivers may help if this is impacting you.
As we work through the worst crash bugs and serious issues with current features we'll be starting to work on some of the top suggestions you are offering. Things like support for a broader range of gamepads/controllers. We're watching these discussion forums closely for bug reports and suggestions both, so keep the reports/suggestions coming.
Stupid Valve taking forever to update their shi- oh, what's this?
Update is live, custom grid icons work, all is right with the world. ^^
It's weird how many overall PC improvements I've gained from this thread.
I'm enjoying this.
Windows 7 64bit, updated my AMD drivers last night and now BPM is crashing when I try to load it.

Anybody ever thought about using Steam to launch non-gaming entertainment apps? I was thinking about maybe putting Hulu Desktop or even Windows Media Center up there. SBP might actually become one of the easiest ways to launch desktop apps from your couch.
No problems here.

Don't notice any extra fan activity and I browsed around it for quite a while. Did not detect any problems with game performance either. Funny how AMD/ATi advertises and updates through Steam and there are still people on pc gaming forums right now saying that BPM performing poorly is some illuminati Nvidia stuff.
BPM is a little rougher than I expected it. idk how much I'll use it. Wireless kbm are already a staple on my coffee table. It's nice. I hope people will be able to easily skin it like the regular client.
got no problems here, and i love it
it funny that out of the gate i like the dashboard way more than the 360 or ps3 one
I thought RoadHazard already fixed that. It's still in beta, it'll get much better as time goes on. I hope the dpad navigation issue gets fixed for those who use it. I don't personally, but it's nice to have options.
I still don't know how to load into BPM upon startup...
Add the "-tenfoot" command to your shortcut.I still don't know how to load into BPM upon startup...
Ditto. I love the 360 dash, but this is much more inviting to me. Everything about it seems elegant. And the web browser is really nice (I haven't tried IE on 360 yet since I haven't updated my Xbox Live sub in months.) But it's much better than the PS3 browser.
One gripe, the ambient music could be a little quieter. Is there a setting for that?
I get my news from GAF. Not some random Steam/Valve site.
