There was some really nice use of perspective which really let Umakoshi's character designs shine in this episode. Unfortunately the same can't be said of the "fight" animation this week which was absolutely laughable compared to how FUCKING AWESOME last episode's was. :( Still, I liked this episode thanks to the nice art direction of the first half of the ep and the fact that it flesh out Eden's backstory and character some more.

Next episode looks like it'll be focusing on the lame ass ninja's and with plenty of tweening animation to boot.

Wait ..if i have sleep problems , that means .....

I have major sleep problems. I don't get enough beauty sleep ;~;

(2) She's actually the most lesbian of the 4 main characters. Her internal monologue is pretty funny during this episode where she almost questions whether having a lesbian crush on Yui is okay or not. But none of the other main characters are ever implied to really be lesbian in the way that Chinatsu so overtly is. Even Sakurako and Himawari, and Kyouko and Yui, and Ayano and Kyouko, don't actually seem to want to kiss each other (outside of Chitose's fantasies). Chinatsu, on the other hand, actually fantasizes about kissing Yui and even practices with Akarin back in season 1.

This is important. For a show called Yuru Yuri there isn't really enough yuri for my tastes.

Watched episode 2 and 3 of Horizon.

Everything still makes no sense, but it's sorta fun to watch.

Do you have anything more specific that you are not understanding? or is it really "everything"? I can see if I can maybe help you out, if you want that is.

Wanna hear a good joke? Waste your time helping me! LOL!

It's pretty much everything. I just about gave up trying to understand anything once the Burger King guy showed up.

A man that is both bro and leader. He possessed incredible foresight having ordered pizza before logging into SAO for the first (and last) time. :'(
In one of the sidestories, it's actually revealed that Klein went to a massively popular gaming forum with information about what was going to happen in SAO. Their advice to him, and I quote, was, "Feed it pizza."

Unfortunately, the logistics of his plan proved insurmountable.

He was too good for GAF.

Thus the reason why he only has ten minute of screentime since the first episode.

Can't have strong characters getting things done getting in the way of waifu fodder.

I wonder what forum that was... >_>

Left 4 Driland 6

this episode had the gang mistakenly joining a L4D server running a crappy mod with even dumber zombies and some suicide bombing skeleton dinosaur/dragon hybrid. looks like the next episode is when the real story begins.

It sounds like you're talking about the part where the history of the world is explained.

Basically in the past people had caused the Earth's environment to deteriorate and they had moved to "the Heavens", which many people think is space, but due to wars they were forced to return to Earth.

Due to the Earth being desolated the only habitable land was around Japan. This was known as the "Divine States" and those who were the descendants of those who had lived here originally lived on the land here. There wasn't enough land for people from other countries though so a copy of the land was made in another type of alternate pocket dimension that existed above the Divine States. This pocket dimension was called the "Harmonic Divine States". The devices which held the dimension in it's place were located in the Divine States.

Over time people regained more of their old technologies and thought they could return to "the Heavens" but couldn't remember how it was done or something was blocking them from achieving that. People then thought if they recreated history then they could mimic or figure out what it was humanity had done the first time.

While the Divine States was recreating a war dealing with a northern and southern dynasties the devices which held the Harmonic Divine States in place were damaged or destroyed or something which caused about half of that area to be annihilated where the rest literally fell onto the Divine States overwriting or merging with some areas of the Divine States. These areas are called "Harmonic Territories" and are recognized by the pillars of light they shoot up into the sky and have their own climates as well.

Some of those who lived in the Harmonic Divine States survived this and moved into the Divine States. They blamed those living in the Divine States for the collapse and this resulted in the "Harmonic Unification War". Those from the Harmonic Divine States were victorious and the land was split with a small part of land given to those originally from the Divine States and named "The Far East". The Testament Union was created to oversee things such as the history recreation project and put the Far East under provisional rule.

It might sound complicated but it's not really that bad. Did that help any?

Flame of Recca: Final Burning

So this is an OVA adaptation of the final volume of the manga. Think it was bundled with something, but I'm not positive there.

Anyway, it was nice to see events beyond what super crappy TV adaptation covered, but they unfortunately picked one of the worst parts to do it. I've always considered the final battle to be incredibly underwhelming and one of the few not great things about the series. The lead-up to it was awesome and took full advantage of the strengths the series had laid out for itself, but the finale is like a JRPG final boss without much of an actual fight.

That being said, there was some nice animation when cool stuff did happen, though the early 2000s art style is a bit jarring. Definitely something a superfan like me would be happy watching even if I can't recommend it to anyone else (mainly because there's no context at all for the things happening on screen).

Hmm, looks like another 4koma anime adaptation is on the way, with the main staff from Mitsudomoe at the helm.
The manga creator Enogizu announced on Tuesday that an television anime adaptation of his four-panel online romantic comedy manga Kotoura-san has been green-lit. The school fantasy story follows Haruka Kotoura, a girl who just transfered to a new school. Kotoura happens to be able to read people's minds.

Masahiko Ohta (Minami-ke, Mitsudomoe, Yuruyuri) is directing the anime at the studio AIC Classic. Takashi Aoshima (Minami-ke, Mitsudomoe, Yuruyuri) is in charge of the series scripts, while Takaharu Okuma (Mitsudomoe, Hanaukyo Maid-tai) is serving as the character designer and chief animation director.

this is one of the most hilariously convoluted things i've ever read

A series of short segments again. The funniest ones were: the pre-OP sequence with Chinatsu's freakish artwork, everyone studying together, Chinatsu in the closet (ufufu~), and finally Chinatsu and Akarin's (disappointingly) kiss-free sleepover.

c_n_low_360.gif

Suddenly, a lot of animation out of nowhere! (High-resolution and framerate version also available.)

I think overall the episodes with multiple short segments are weaker than the episodes with only a few longer segments. The comedy of this show tends to develop organically from the way characters interact with each other, which is typical of slife-of-life comedy shows. If you keep each segment too short that tends to stunt the humor before it develop or forces reliance on quick gags. We've been seeing more and more episodes consisting of these short segments strung end-to-end in season 2.
