There was a track on DJ Camillo's #19 Mix Tape that I thought was awesome.

Can't remember who it was with and I'm not going to go digging, but I remember most of the verse. It was something like:

Went to bible class with a gun, blasted a nun
fuck hell, satan can send my ass to the sun
wasn't born, I was hatched, dumped in the trash with a note attached
saying someone please whip this brat's ass
never gave a rat's ass or a flying fuck
driving drunk in a fire truck with the tires stuck...

then he was driving drunk in the fire truck for a while

better run, 'cus I'm probably the only one
crazy enough to shoot your ass with a knife and stab you with a gun

and then there was some other shit.

The internet has made it dangerous to ever say "I liked x before x". That said, I liked Eminem's stuff more before he hooked up with Dre.

Not trying to make a point or anything, it's just how I feel!

eminem was, and is, a legend. a status that he completely deserves in my opinion.

a bit overboard but i agree with the general intent of your statement. that said. why wouldn't em give him a verse? it's not like eminem, kanye, wayne and drake were all hanging out rapping together. em's agent was like "let's film a 30 second segment, you drop a verse, you get a large amount of money". and he said "okay". seems sensical..

That says more about the state of rap than it does about Eminem himself. Eminem maintains a consistently good quality of verses on all the stuff that he does.

Don't get me wrong, I like Eminem, but not so much his recent stuff. But as for Drake? Eminem is better than that. The first time I heard Drake I thought he was letting Bizarre from D12 write his lyrics.

Pretty much every major rapper has collaborated with Drake by now. At least Em isn't doing songs with the Biebs.

Drake is just the latest craze in this generation of mainstream hip hop, so he's on it for business reasons, there's no need to analyze it further than that

Plus, the way he embarrasses all three other people on the song (all of whom are the biggest hip hop artists at the moment) just makes him look good.

You cannot change the minds of some.

It's either you think they suck, you think they are great, or you pine for their old shit.

I will say that I'm tired of screamy Em but it seems like he's self-aware of it now just like he was with the accents.

BME gave me some hoep of him going back a bit to his old subject matter. The Reunion's last verse was awesome.

Roman's Revenge is just.... I never got into it. I usually like Eminem but the beat has nothing to do with his beat. It's like he's just singing over another song.
