StarFox looks insane

Fuck I hate this bullshit. What do you consider to be a good looking "insane" game? Does it need to have the greatest lighting and most polygons to quantify? What makes a game look insane to you?

There is so much you can push on and rely on art to hide Square wheels for example.

The only thing that looks nice to me in that game is some of the animation on the jet it self and some environment like the space level. But it's not insane. And it doesn't hold a candle against other higher games.

If this is insane looking. What is ace combat 8 ? Godly ?

Or is it because it's a Nintendo game fanboys are turning to blind monkeys ( not talking about the OP or anyone, not insulting anyone either. Just speaking in general )

It looks really good from what it was like on the N64.

Cheers dude, I will very likely purchase Mario Kart, it's my partner's favourite franchise, she loves it.

Not got my hopes up but I would love Nintendo to bring back Wrecking Crew and Ice Climber at some point, perfect for chill handheld mode.

I don't have a game that I call insane graphics. that is ( with all respect ) is a stupid line to say in the first place.

There are some games that push the hardware that its running on. like, for example, if Zelda OoT remake gonna look like that final product ( even though we barely saw 2 seconds of Link, that is an impressive looking character model for its hardware running on. The same goes for Zelda ToTK on Switch 1.

But neither are insane looking graphically. The same goes for many games like MGS2 on PS2, MGS4 on PS3 when it was first revealed, Mario 64 on N64 and so on.

This isn't one of them (again, IMO ) and not an insane-looking one by a long shot. Whatever you agree with me or not is your opinion. but these forums are for people to express their opinion and this is mine. Don't get mad about it, sheesh. I dont have to agree with you or write a reply with OMFG SO RIGHT BEST LOOKING GAME EVA NINTENDO RULZZ KINGS.

Saying X-Game graphics are insane implies it can't be topped, and it's not believable. Is Starfox Switch 2 is the best the system can do in your opinion? if you think this is the best Nintendo can do on Switch 2, then sure you call it whatever you want. I believe Nintendo already has better-looking games than this . This isn't even 9 out of 10 graphically. like wtf.

30 years apart between these 2 screenshots. this is the bare minimum upgrade I would expect in 30 years at LEAST.

I don't have anything against starfox or people liking the game. and i am not saying the graphics are ugly. at the end of the day this is a limited in power handheld. so it looks decent. and with its current price, its a great purchase too for the fans.

But these graphics are not insane looking or even close to being impressive. like cmon. do we live on different planet now? This has nothing to do with switch 2 vs other systems. There are other Switch 2 games that look better than this. Nothing is insane graphically about this. the Switch 2 can produce much better graphics than this and already did.

Anyway, I said I was done with this thread from the last post, but I had to make a clarification so I don't sound like I am trolling because I am not trying to be. Just don't agree with the game looking insane graphically comment one bit.

Welcome to the 9 gen Nintendo! And make yourself comfortable, judging by components prices we will be here for another while.

Also, wtf is wrong with ROB voice? And those lines? Who the fuck write it?

Gameplay looks good tho, well it is SF64 again so it is impossible to fucked up.
 
The voice lines are not as fun as in the original. It feels like the actors are holding back to not sound silly. But silly was the reason why the original voices are so memorable and in some cases iconic even.

I read about it on some gaming site and they raved about how gorgeous it looked. I was like "...huh?" It doesn't look amazing at all, it honestly looks mediocre. Not bad, not good. Just acceptable I guess.
 
I don't understand why they are so afraid in taking the story forward or are they just testing the water to see if there is an appetite out there for more Starfox? Were they THAT devoid of ideas?
 
Man I forgot how fun this was. I hope this leads to a revival of not only star fox but the genre. I'd love to see the Rogue Squadron/Rebel Strike games get the same treatment.
 
Please oh PLEASE give us the option to turn off subtitles during cutscenes in the final release.

They're terribly distracting. I just want to watch the cutscene, but my eyes can't simply ignore those white words on the bottom. Not everyone plays games like a streamer.

Other than that, fun game. Music is lit!

My guess is they're testing the waters on this new engine and are developing a new game behind the scenes.

They did this with Links Awakening and Zelda Echoes of Wisdom.

This demo absolutely sold me on this game. I feel like a kid again. It's amazing!

That's fair. Points taken. My whole point is, what makes someone say the newest James Bond looks better than say Hades 2? Yes, James Bond is using most, if not ALL of the graphical techniques afforded them for a triple A game to make people go WOW! Yet Hades 2 has beautiful art direction and is a stunner in and of itself. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
 
Demo plays great, feels very similar to the original, which is good.

I really wish they would have an arcade mode maybe with two loops, where you end up playing each stage once. Something to mix it up and not make scoring runs miss over half the game.

yeah the new James Bond looks too uncanny valley to my eyes still.

You are right. as a matter of fact I don't think the new James Bond game is impressive looking. i could be wrong but Uncharted 4 looks better than that on PC at least, since its not fair to compare Uncharted 4 on ps4 with James Bond on PS5. pro.

And yes, art direction is what makes a game look pretty or appealing to play. I am one of those people that dont play a game if the art direction isn't something I like. And yes, you are right, Hades 2 is a pretty game. but not an insane looking. Neither Star Fox Switch 2 lol.
 
Aside from the visuals sometimes looks abit weird to take (like in Asteroid field), I'm not sure I'm fan of the dialogues, which looks quite modern may I add.
 
Between the direct today and this demo in now actually happy to have my switch 2. I didn't realize how much I missed starfox till I played the demo today

The music is so good in Mario Kart. The complaints about online are understandable (straight courses), but I loved exploring the open world and doing all the p-switch challenges which at times can feel like Pilot Wings as well as grabbing all the collectables.

I dunno. I like the new coat of paint that the game has. It looks good. But at the same time, it is still just Star Fox 64 at its core game design. I wonder how much better it could (or couldn't) be if the stages were altered and fleshed out in different ways. the footage is watching Star Fox 64 with DLSS 5 turned on.
 
I was already sold on the game, but after playing the demo, I'm frankly blown away. The game looks incredible and it plays SO smooth.

Don't get me wrong, I love Star Fox 64, but now that I see how good the gameplay here is, I wish they would have just made a new game. Or at least changed up the levels a bit.

I'm really hoping this game pops off for them, cause I want a proper sequel so badly.
