Yeah, we know real women don't wake up all dressed up and glamorous. But we're not talking about real life, we're talking about a video game with a $250 million dollar budget that needs to sell five million copies just to break even. GoW: Laufey is not a hard hitting documentary from a warzone, it's lowbrow action game entertainment set in a fantasy world that should appeal to as many people as possible. Asian movie/game producers know how this works: cast popular actors and cater to the audience. It's just weird that here in the western world they've become so deadly afraid of the male gaze that even the idea of making a female character (or the actress playing her) look appealing is revolting to them. They drain every ounce of female sexuality out of those characters.

What doesn't make any sense at all is that the attitude to sexuality is completely the opposite in the music business. There the motto has been "SEX SELLS" for decades and female singers have no issues whatsoever with using their sex appeal to sell records. Then it's suddenly called female empowerment and leftists lap it up. But in a video game context it's haram, sinful, degrading, etc etc.

Personally I'm not a fan of oversexualized pop singers and video game characters, but on the other hand, the Puritanical prudishness that's en vogue among broad swathes of the US videogame business is just as extreme. I just want a return to normality where a game with attractive female characters is not seen as catering to incels and chuds but simply normal.
