Graphical Fidelity I Expect This Gen

Look at that cutscene and gameplay transitions... Very fluid and insanely great, among these ultra details. The scale, lighting and textures feel improved 10x compared to the first Stellar Blade.

My GPU is scared of Stellar Blade 2, it looks much better than any UE5 game.

I dont see this being able to scale down to current gen at all, this no doubt used ray reconstruction because the reflections are too good for full res hw lumen with normal filters. I dont even see a 4080 running the train and some other scenes at playable framerates without compromises so i strongly doubt ps6 will run this at the same quality too, next gen pro at the earliest to match this imo.

rewatching Veronica reminded me...
despite being a Sony fan for 2 decades , I am secretly looking forward to seeing OD in action. the graphics are gonna be amazing and it will likely be the spiritual successor to PT

Upgrade over requiem, what you guys think?

I wasn't particularly impressed, the apartment sections giving upgraded Resident Evil 7 vibes with darker, more realistic, simplified effects. We need to see more, maybe?

But I could praise Claire's design, polygons every single day! Amazing.

I just noticed something, suddently TW4 doesn't seem that impressive anymore, unless it avoids downgrades, add upgrades where it can until release and have much MUCH better gameplay this time around
my graphics list so far includes ILL, Crossfire and Veronica. and of course GTAVI
It does look impressive still, it has RTGI & Nanite foliage geometry with state of the art animation performance capture techniques. It had to run at 60 fps on a base PS5, a console from 2020, I know it's a demo, but still, even if the game for some reason targeted 30fps on it instead of 60, I'd wager they can (at least) rival the tech demo pretty handily with probably better visuals.

guys, stellar blade is early in production. its likely a 2031 title. next gen only.

ff7 rebirth dlc looks awful. square enix devs should just resign and go home. utter failures. laziness personified. no shame getting mogged and lapped by first time korean and chinese devs. as bad as sony devs have been, somehow square has been worse.

I watched trailer again on 4k, man it's generation ahead above everything else
 
Crossfire looks amazing. crazy how ex naughty dogs split, formed a new studio, and still showed a long 3 minute trailer with lots of combat and enviornments.

virtua fighter looks great as well. a full adventure mode. finally!

blood message looks too good to be true. how much of that was gameplay?
 
Stellar Blade 2 and Code Veronica are a clear step above almost any game shown off to date. Crossfire and that Clutch look incredible too. Future looking bright again after that abysmal Sony showcase. These games are starting to look more and more like pre rendered CG than actual games.

That said, they might actually be pre rendered heh.

Im more excited for the actual game than the graphics, though the graphics also look fabulous.

Intergalactic and Black Myth: Zhong Kui are the 2 mega bangers I need to see next.

Intergalactic will be shown of in a September State of Play after Wolverine is out. Guaranteed. Probably around the same timeframe for Black Myth 2.

God i cant wait for both of those.

Next-gen only games will not occur for at least another 6-7 years. I am not going to judge a games graphics on a linear scene where the player slowly walks

The action sequences looked good, but nothing mind-blowing when it comes to fidelity

I'm more so taking shots at sony after how depressingly mid their last show was. I'm not seeing anything in the blood message trailer that I can say for sure is gameplay, and not cutscene or target render. It said captured on a PC but I'm reluctant to put much faith in a new, unknown studio to deliver this on their first try. Cautiously optimistic.

It's have full AAA budget By Netease Company don't worry they definitely won't show cgi as gameplay

This is what next gen was supposed to be all along. This is what I'm talking about where they're pushing the console to it's limit.

These Chinese studios are no joke. Look at what Game Science did with their first AAA game with Wukong. They have real raw talent.
Also this has a good budget behind it. Black Myth 2 will blow minds.

Lol this was probably captured on an SLI 5090 or one of those 10thousand dollar Nvidia Dev GPUS. There's a 5% chance the Nvidia card burnt down their office after rendering this damn thing. Current consoles have no shot at running this at this level.

china is atleast 50 years ahead of the west when it comes to engineering. their new cities and bridges are legit from the future. the west has managed to hide their achievements but if you know where to look, you will see just how advanced they really are.

it was only a matter of time we started seeing it in games.

That's just Chinese art, in general. Even their tv shows are on another level. They'll pump out 50, hour long episodes of a period drama with full authentic costumes and LotR sized set pieces and scenery, have full blown battles and fight choreography, etc. and film it from start to finish in like 3-4 months.

When they invest into anything, they don't half ass it, which is why I always scoff at the people talking about Chinese games being slop, because if you've seen what they've done in other areas of entertainment, you know what's coming is going to put a lot of traditional gaming development powerhouses to shame.
 
Is it? If not CGI, that clip is at best a linear scene like RE Requiem opening sequence. Actual gameplay looks on par with predecessor

Yeah, I was going to use exactly the RE9 opening as an example. People are seeing this and letting their minds run wild. It's probably a very limited play zone. It's the antithesis of the Todd Howard quote: "See the other side of the road? You can't go there.".

With that said, it looks fucking spectacular.
 
Stellar blade 2 gameplay didn't look THAT impressive, and I'm still waiting to see legit gameplay from blood message..
I was starting to think I was the only one.

People are getting carried away by a KZ shadowfall style window dressing. Even one change in camera angle and this is what it looks like. PS6 game?? Come on guys. Still looks early PS5 imo. I don't think it even uses lumen during gameplay

Blood message looks absolutely incredible. But still have no fucking clue if this is essentially Ryse: Son of Rome + Hellblade 2. If it turns out to actually have game mechanics, level design and challenge, I'm yet to see it. But since this is a graphics thread, I guess it is currently king. Nothing comes that close.

Devs need to stop trying to compete with Epic. There's just no way.

007 First Light is cool, but some aspects feel one or even two generations behind Unreal Engine. It looks old in a lot of aspects.

Any dev still trying to make their own engine will end up failing. Epic just has too much money, expectations will continue to rise.

Next-gen lives! Excited for Gears E-Day sunday.
