Gears of War also re-confirmed to be coming this year.

It's time for another look at the future of gaming – Xbox Games Showcase 2026 will air on Sunday, June 7, starting at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern / 6pm UK time. It will be followed immediately by a deep-dive into the return of one of Xbox's most legendary franchises in the form of Gears of War: E-Day Direct.


We'll begin the day with our annual Xbox Games Showcase, including first gameplay looks and huge news on upcoming titles from our first-party studios across the Xbox family, as well as our third-party partners around the globe – from the biggest franchises to soon-to-be indie darlings.


Immediately following Showcase, we'll go even deeper on one of the games coming later this year, directly from the team behind the Gears franchise, The Coalition Studio. Gears of War: E-Day Direct will take players into the start of Emergence Day, offering new details, gameplay and insights about the hugely anticipated origin story to the Gears of War saga.

I hoped to see Asha show up in in the recent event, but I guess this will be her big Xbox stage debut. Carefully coroegraphed, I'm sure.

I don't care about Gears, but I'm curious to see more about Halo and Fable.

Hype at high. Xbox finally showing me the one franchise from them I adore top to bottom.

Nintendo cooking an OoT remake.

Now PlayStation needs to just crush it with Wolverine and it'll be maximum hype for all 3.

After those Gears of War girl boss games, is becoming hard to get excited about Gears again.

But still a franchise I like. Lets hope for the best.

Gears was the first series my wife and i played heavily together... she even helped farm kills for me in GoW2 while i was at work so i could get gold weapon skins in GoW3 or something like that? Been a while forget exactly what it was now haha We are super stoked for this new game, this is our jam.

I would love for both Microsoft and Sony to do this. Gaming sliding sideways for a while now it's time to right the ship.

$572 USD? Nah.

The next gen I imagine at the lowest will be $799 starting.

Xbox showcases have been really good the last few years. Expedition 33 made a big debut there and put it on many people's radar. I don't doubt this will be another good one, considering how large Microsoft's publishing business is. For hardware? That's another story.

I think the last live event with people in the audience was before Covid lockdown, E3 2019 if I'm not mistaken.

Xbox had the regular keynote and Sony had the weird stage thing where they did the Tsushima flute guy and the TLoU part 2 stage dressing.

They haven't labeled this as their anniversary showcase, I expect one of those will come later which may be the better time to show off new hardware.
 
I'm curious how long she can ride out this BS "Getting back to Xbox roots"

You can't make games that perform better on a competitors product and be "Xbox"

You can't continue to gouge your players and drive them away and be "Xbox"

You can't push people to other storefronts and be "Xbox"

I truly don't get what she continues to imply. A "fan fest" that exist solely for the Twitter shills is not a return….
