Is it going to be weekends only forever or just while in beta..? Hope it's the latter. Kinda silly restricting stuff to certain days for no reason. What if you can play weeknights but not the weekend?

Not only that but I don't know that fracturing the player base on the days when most have time to play is a good idea. Personally I don't have much interest in ranked and don't like the idea of waiting even longer to find a match because half the players are now playing that mode.

Game still amazing 40hrs in. Dire Marsh is the perfect map. The activities and the rate of PvP is the perfect balance, imo

I love the map too, also think it's the most visually interesting, when you're stalking through bushes, sunrays streaming through the trees, the sound of a twig snapping and your trigger finger is itchy, pure vibes.I'm 70+ hours in now, still haven't even attempted the lockdown event, did Anomaly twice.

Yeah, the wooded brush area is crazy good looking. It is fun just running through there. They definitely need more striking environments thatDon't say that too loudly, might trigger some people

They were already nerfed. I don't think they're too bad now, though 100m is still pretty far with the sniper. Snipers are ridiculous, same with the double barrel shotgun.

How much of a time investment is level 25? The proposed rank structure addresses many of my grips with extraction shooters by setting targets and ante so I'm interested.

Do more CyberAcme contracts open after you do more story contracts for other factions? Or do you just grind to open up more levels?

Not long I'd say. I'm super casual and ass at the game, have been playing since release, and I'm at level 30 after about 2 weeks? If you're a really good player and can get contracts from the different factions done quickly, probably a few days to reach 25.

About 20 hours depending on how fast you do the contracts. Probably can be done in half the time if you are mega efficient.
Im lvl52 and have played around 50 hours but not been paying attention to levelling for example.

Should be pointed out you will level waaaaay faster playing in squads due to being able to complete multiple contracts at once, more XP overall. If you're playing primarily solo (like me) will take a lot longer.

Ranked being a weekend/ante thing rather that simply a matter of time spent is a strong draw since it matches how I already play competitively. I find it easier to organize fixed sessions with friends around a specific window than it is to deal with perpetual grinds.
I would find a trip asap since the game seems to be built around teams like apex.

Same, I'm completely smitten I love it.
Had a battle in station last night in random squads, we were pinned in the lower section shit went on for 5 minutes, pushes, counter pushes double rez from me the medic to save the day. Was fucking was epic.
We died at extract but one dude messaged me after thanking me for such a great game.
10/10 would die again.

It is so satisfying to get the jump on an assassin and just fuck their shit up. Had some successful solos yesterday and a good Outpost run with

I need to run some of my better gear to make room for more betterer gear, vault value steadily rising day by day so I'm happy with my progress. Kinda iffy on ranked but I'm gonna try it regardless.

Ho. Lee. Shit. I enter Outpost with 2 randoms, they both have white shields, I'm kitted up, I say "oh boy" lol. We start in processing, I find 2 yellow key cards and a green early on. We get into a massive firefight with UESC, this attracts another squad. I take one out, another starts shooting me from behind, I jump off a ledge to escape and die from fall dmg, forgetting to use my shadow drop skill. I'm revived, eventually my two teammates go down, it's all up to the lone Assassin:
After this I revive them both, I take them to the armory in Processing and use my 2 yellows/green key card to access, they get kitted up, I find a nice blue BRRT. We continue to Flight Control, ambushed, me and other Assassin in squad go down, Triage revives him, he revives me, we end up wiping *that* squad. A Rook comes charging in at some point, his monkey ass gets smoked. Get some more gear from all these bodies, call in a supply drop, unfortunately the gear is mostly shit. Do restricted exfil in Dorms with 2 minutes left, perfection.

So questions about Thief's drone!
When it does the little slurp on a runner, does it only make the item pop-out of said runner? If on the ground and slurped up again does it then sit inside the drone's inventory or your own backpack? What happens to the items when the drone is destroyed? Does it only slurp up certain sets of items? (ie: no ammo, no consumables, weapons, etc)

It will take highest rarity items/value in backpack from runners or bots. It will not take ammo. You must then zip it again off the ground. Those items go into the drone inventory. Fly it back to you and hit the button to open it up. It has limited space.
If the drone blows up with loot the items fall to the ground.

I ran some solos earlier to stock up on ammo and stuff and man I ran into the most braindead players possible. Holy shit.
Out of like 10 or so runs I only died once and it was a Recon who did his ult and then we both downed each other.
Like one Recon player literally hit his ult while I was on the roof above him (Thief) keeping an eye on the ladder while I tried to figure out how to go about pushing him and decided to just walk up the ladder right in front of me anyways. WHY. They had a fair amount of loot as well.
Another dude I pushed and he shielded before I could down him and while I was reloading ran into a building only to quit out. A Destroyer could have easily put up a fight indoor but they just gave up.

I don't know why some players start jumping around like a chicken with their head cut off but I can promise you it will lead to death, every time, without exception lol. I see this kind of schizophrenic movement in CoD too but there it can have some utility, not so in Marathon, at least based on my experience.
