They're worried people will jump ship for XBoxPC/SM in general.
Especially with Free MP.

They'll likely help second party games like Kena and DS2 port to PC, help remaster games, and help with Sony's live service games that are still going to PC.Curious what they will have Nixxes doing then? Wasn't the acquisition directly due to wanting to port more games to PC? Does this make them vulnerable to being shut down?
That's what people assumed, but they also have been a key support studio and did a remaster. So maybe they're more geared for the remastering job from Sony's portfolio and continued support roles as well.Curious what they will have Nixxes doing then? I'm just going by what I saw lurking Gaf from 2005 onwards, 360 hype was huge, but it was from console gamers. This was the peak time of PC being called a dead or dying platform and many PC users were mocked for not just getting more advanced Xbox 360. This shit has always gone on lol, but now we're at a very weird time where one of the major platforms has all but dissolved and the waters have been muddied with them now hiding behind Windows and the success of PC. Humans are weird though initI'm sure there were some who did but this wasn't the general concensus as far as I know during the 360. People got excited by the next games and went and bought a console.
And apparently people kept buying ps5s even with the current gen's low output (+pc ports).
The reality is, much like Valve, Sony doesn't really need to make games. They'll probably release some every once in a while just for the sake of maintaning a foot in the market and being in touch with the latest tech, but don't expect them to double down on those or anything. For that they'd need to diversify their portfolio and release some more AA games, yet right now they're closing down studios.
I never changed, been on PC, Nintendo, and PS the entire time ive been gamingI mean if you bought a PC for PS games then you fucked up in so many ways, the first being buying a PC for gaming lol.

I don't think this person you're talking about existsI mean if you bought a PC for PS games then you fucked up in so many ways, the first being buying a PC for gaming lol.
Someone is trying to bring that backIt's the internet at large, mainly.
IRL, this waring never happens like it once did pre-internet schoolyards, yeah.
Not willing, meet in person and settle it with fists
… the first being buying a PC for gaming lol.
They're launching these 'big' games this year (Saros, Wolverine), which will not come to PC. They already had Yotei and that will not come to PC. They shadow dropped GOW, which was heavily rumored to be multiplatform, and that's not coming to PC. What exactly is so hard for you to follow?agreed. so what're we talking about? 5 games, max. one of which was released 6 years ago, & one of which hasn't been. so all i'm saying is how about sony actually creating some 'big' games first, & then talking policy changes? cuz all they're really saying is:
'a bunch of games that don't even exist yet won't be coming to pc!'...
Sure, but I think people weren't exactly used to be so against exclusivity in the first place. Especially not when it was for games from the damn platform holder! That's the enthusiast market in general. Once niche Japanese games got ported to PC there was no reason to stay strictly on console like the PS2 days.
That's a damn great point. People were getting way too emotional over the idea of a PS6 launching next year there. Over the idea of a company that likes money launching a new product, insanity. You have a good point but I would argue the culture there has been the way it is for so long that it lends itself to elevated emotional states and dramatic outbursts even outside of more controversial topics.
Bluepoint was doing support for Santa Monica, Nixxes will take that position now that Bluepoint doesn't exist anymoreCurious what they will have Nixxes doing then? Wasn't the acquisition directly due to wanting to port more games to PC? Does this make them vulnerable to being shut down?
Are you a moron, or a troll?I mean if you bought a PC for PS games then you fucked up in so many ways, the first being buying a PC for gaming lol.
Who's concerned? I asked some questions is all as I don't follow in-depth what each studio is doing. Also this concern trolling for Nixxes, they do much more than just do PC ports, they've got their hands on several games as a support studio
The older I get the more patient I get. But GTA is just different. I must have itAlso I see lots of people talking as if GTA6 is never coming to PC lol. It is, you'll just have to wait for a bit, you know, play some of the other thousands of awesome PC games in your backlog in the meantime lol. It's not that big of a deal.

Why are you so combative? Could you just not have said "I was talking about the comments on the first page." I didn't scroll through the thread.Read the comments on the first page, not everything is about you

Hear you. You're the one who assumed this was about your comment, if the shoe fits... next time read the thread.
I honestly think it's a small factor at play, as far as marketing goes. We know Microsoft would have absolutely advertised the 2027 PC port of Wolverine on what they will try to pretend is a new Xbox console, just with an open ecosystem.
Horrible news for PC gamers, they will be missing so many PS5-only games.

That's why I think it's just a small factor. Something along the lines of "oh, that will definitely suck. one of many more reasons to stop this!"I doubt Sony is giving a second thought to a device that will struggle to topple the Steam Deck in lifetime sales.
I would have cared about losing Wolverine but i'm not 9 years old.PCtards saying "nothing of value lost" yet they're all over twitter and youtube complaining and coping haha

They never used it to begin with. In any title
I actually think it's a good move for Sony to keep their exclusives, for exactly the reasons you just said. But also they need to do better. As a PC gamer, there's nothing they have currently or in their upcoming except for Bloodborne in their first party lineup that I want to play. Also some idiots saying this wont make PC players switch to PS... have you ever thought that this is much more about stopping PS players from switching to PC? Cause that's the path they were heading with launching their games there.
People keep bringing this up and I always laugh when they do some marketing of features that have been available on platforms that they were already porting to. The XboxPC has such little impact in comparison to actual PCs that I've got to question people's thinking when they bring this up. Why would they do actual PC but when another PC comes with a sticker for a brand that is in the gutter they bail? Doesn't make sense at all. Colin is right. They're worried people will jump ship for XBoxPC/SM in general.

Maybe. To be honest these things take time. Xbox didn't end up where it is now overnight. It over a long time for them to feel the damage of all their mistakes. And apparently people kept buying ps5s even with the current gen's low output (+pc ports).

Having basically the full catalogue of all games and input devices ever at your disposal is indeed an absolutely amazing pc feature, fully agree. So true, they must be, anyway, let's play this 5 dollar indie game or isometric mid 2000 game in my 5090![]()
Yotei is a loss tho.Sony is being consistently releasing mediocre and woke games lately so they can keep their games to themselves
I dont give a shit
the first being buying a PC for gaming lol.
There are lots of other former console exclusives that have sold incredibly on PC, though. Like look at the other thread where Capcom said that PC has been huge for them. Look at the sales for Yakuza 0 on Steam. And so on.The PC audience has basically rejected these massive console exclusives. Spiderman 2 sales were absolutely insane. 11 million in a few weeks iirc.

This, the strategy lasted quite a bit because their first games were doing numbers, but each sequel has been a flop, no need to be a genious to know Yotei was going to be the next one, as some other users said, this is not about bringing PC players to PS, but about keeping their players on their own platform for longer. The PS games on PC just straight up weren't selling that well and in the end Sony did a simple cost benefit analysis and decided it wasn't worth degrading the value of PS exclusives to sell a few copies of games on PC. It's not that exciting. Sony tried a business experiment, it was deemed a failure, now they are pulling back

I think the direction is right; Sony needs to make its console more attractive.I actually think it's a good move for Sony to keep their exclusives, for exactly the reasons you just said. Thank you. Dude was even talking up the latest Horizon live service slop."You're out to lunch" says the guy who, before today, championed both sony's multiplat *and* live service pushes.
Miss me with that shit.
