It's the weekend GAF!

What are you playing now and what are you picking up by the end of March?

Playing Now
  • Xenoblae Chronicles X Switch 2: I doubt I'll beat it anytime soon, but I'm enjoying the upgrade.
  • Metroid Prime 4: I might fire it up this weekend to take a JRPG break after beating DQ7 Reimagined.
Definitely Buying
  • Pokemon Pokopia: Surprise gift for my wife to celebrate her new job.
Maybe Buying

I can only pick one of these...
  • Super Mario Wonder Switch 2: I'd like to finally beat this and the multiplayer might be fun.
  • Crimson Desert: I want to blindly jump into it, but I think I need to see some early reviews.
  • Monster Hunter Stories 3: I was hyped for this, but the latest footage has me hesitant.
  • Slay the Spire 2 Early Access: I'm afraid it'll be more of the same.
  • Marathon: I highly doubt I'm picking this up, but it's on my radar.
Don't Want Anymore
  • Ys X: Proud Nordics: $70 is crazy! I haven't beaten VIII or IX yet, so this can wait.
  • WWE 2K26: They added a battle pass and...yeah F that! Might get on heavy discount.
  • MLB 26: I would've bought the Switch 2 version, but it doesn't exist. First year I'm skipping or waiting for a heavy discount.

Bonus Thread DLC
In celebration of my household finances going back to normal with my wife landing a new job, I'm going to finally keep my word on paying forward John Marston John Marston 's gold gifting generosity and randomly gift someone GAF gold in this thread by the end of the weekend. And no I'm not drunk. I'm 100% sober lol

Update: Gold gifted!

Crimson Desert

Absolutely RE IX, but going to nab that on day 1, so not sure that even counts. Beyond that, not certain. I'd check out Mario Wonder, but it seems mostly mutliplayer focused best I can tell.

Only Crimson Desert.
More importantly if successful (which I think it will be), I'm hoping that other South Korean devs start seeing it as a sign that they can diversify their single player offerings beyond just Soulslikes.

Marathon for sure.

Might try Slay the Spire 2.

And will definitely see if Crimson Desert is actually a good game or the most elaborate tech demo for an engine no one else will ever use lol

I don't think I'll be getting anything in March. I recently bought and played Alan Wake 2 and I'm currently playing Doom DA.

In March I'll play something from my backlog or PS plus. I'll probably finish Pacific Drive and start RE 4 remake.

Idk how some of you keep up with new releases so often. Perhaps It's the way I play games. I really take my time. Or maybe I'm just slow.

Don't give me gold, please. Thanks.

RE9 (and 7 and Village too) and Ys Proud Nordics. In March I only got Fatal Frame Crimson Butterfly. Very excited for that one. Loved it on PS2.

I'm considering Crimson Desert. Not sure I want to embark on something that big right now, though.

I was also considering Mouse: PI For Hire -- the shooter with the Disney art style. They both come out 3/19, which bodes ill for Mr. Mouse.

Glad to hear your wife is employed again OP!

Playing Now
  • Battlefield 6 (Steam + PS5 Pro) - This is my main multiplayer game right now, has been since launch, and I'll still be playing it for the foreseeable future. 90% of my time is on Steam but I bought it on PS5 for when I want to sit back and relax and put in a couple matches.
  • Forza Horizon 4 (Xbox Series X) - I love Horizon and I'm super excited about Horizon 6 so I went back and started over FH4 with a new save despite already having probably 250 hours in the game easily over the years.
  • Death Stranding 2 (PS5 Pro)- I've been slowly chipping away at this for awhile
  • Gran Turismo 7 (PS5 Pro)- This is always in constant rotation for me. I do the weekly events every week.
  • Persona 4 Golden (PS5 Pro + Portal) - This is my favorite game of all time and I replay it nearly every year. Super excited for the remake and it's been a perfect Portal game when me and the girl are watching tv.
Probably Dropping
  • Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - I actually like it but I'm still early (played 3.5 hours so far of the 4 hour free trial on PS5). As much as I like it right now I don't think I'm going to be able to continue just due to how "hardcore" everything is like the alchemy and stuff. Might be a find a play through on YouTube and play in the background while I'm doing other stuff type of game.
Definitely Buying
  • Marathon (Steam most likely) - Fuck the haters. I played roughly 10 hours or so after getting invited and I loved it. Looks better each time I see it.
  • Resident Evil Requiem (PS5 Pro) - I love RE and this looks great.
  • Pokemon Fire Red (NSW2 obviously) - I fell off of Pokemon during Gen 2 but loved Blue/Yellow/Anime and told myself I wanted to go back and play one of the old games and the announcement was at the perfect time. It'll be great for sitting on the couch in parallel to P4G.
Edit: Added platforms for future purchases.

I'll pick up RE9 once I catch up on the series (I still have to beat 7 and 8) and I plan on picking up Proud Nordics once I beat my Switch backlog down and it goes on sale.

For now, just going to keep working on my backlog.

All of this RE9 talk is making me slightly interested.

Haven't played a Resident Evil since…when I rented the first one at Blockbuster Video!

Starship Troopers: Ultimate Bug War
Crimson Desert

Maybe:
Pokemon Red/Green
Tales of Berseria Remastered

Maybe slay the spire 2 and possible super Mario wonder if they have the patch come out with a sale price that's good

Crimson Desert, hopefully, what they have shown and said has me really interested, i will wait as usual until it's out to make sure it delivers, but its on my buy list, if its worth the price.

Playing Mario Tennis Fever and Metroid Prime 4. Also a few random games on my Steamdeck like Cult of the Lamb, TMNT Shredders Revenge, and some other roguelike games.

I'm getting RE.
Highly likely I'll get Crimson Desert, I just want to get some real world feedback to make sure it isn't to good to be true.
I'll get the Super Mario Wonder upgrade since I own the base game.
Marathon I'll try on the stress the test, it has to be really good if I end up buying it but most likely I won't get it.
Pokemon Pokopia I do want but I'll wait for a bit I think. Same with Monster Hunter Stories 3
I'll get Slay the Spire 2 once it's out of early access.

February has been pretty crazy. March will probably be just as bad.

Definitely missing some, especially indies, and there are always games that seem to pop up last minute.

Death Stranding 2
iRacing Arcade
Marathon
MOUSE: P.I. For Hire
Pokemon Pokopia
Screamer
Super Mario Bros. Wonder Switch 2 Edition
