Sell PS5 disc console since I have PS5 digital?

I'd say I'm kinda stupid. I bought a new PS5 disc version 3 weeks ago in March. So now I have a PS5 disc version I use and a PS5 digital console and I also have black plates for the digital console. I don't have room for disc games, so yeah I'm pretty stupid. I bought a disc game, NFS Unbound. But I forgot I already bought that game on Xbox Series X. So now having no PS5 discs, it makes the new but worthless. I also love the PS5 black plates I have for the digital console. I don't want to buy any color plates from Sony again, I need to save money. So saving money plus I already have black plates for PS5 digital console, therefore I should transfer back to PS5 digital console with black plates since I have no money right now anyway.

Like I said, I have the black plates for the PS5 digital. I have no more room for discs anyway in my room. Therefore I should go back to PS5 digital as I have the black plates and no room for discs anyway.

I agree with the people telling you to keep the disk version. You can play digitally on that one as well plus it gives you options to buy physical games cheaper later on.

I get living in a space with not a lot of room but there’s ways to minimize the amount of space disks take up. Plus, nothing says you HAVE to buy disks, it just gives you a way to save money on games you may want to try later, on sale.

Keeping the worse version just because you have the black plates seems.. kinda silly? You could sell it WITH the plates then buy the black plates for the disk one. 🤷‍♂️

I have the disc version but I don't own any discs. I like having the option if I want it. I would be just as happy with the digital version. May still buy one for the other room.

Do what feels right to you.

I know most people always say oh but there's always sales at stores on the disc games. Nope, not for me. I live by a walmart, games on sale? Nope. I only see a few cents off like walmart always does anyway. WWE2K23 69.49, NFS Unbound 69.79, WW2K22 59.69. I see the deals on the PlayStation store way more often. Like right now a big sale of a lot of games. Sale for any games at walmart, nope. Deals are always online for me. Therefore I'm going back to the digital as I already bought black plates and had them on about 4 months before. The digital is 1115B. The disc is 1215A. I know about the 1200 models have about a whole inch less of motherboard and the 1100 and 1000 models are just about the same other than less wires to connect to the fan.

There's a gamestop sale going on right now to buy 1 and get 1 game free, which includes some fairly recent games like Forspoken on it. You won't get deals like that on digital any time soon. Shipping will be free for any order over $25 so I think that shouldn't be an issue either.

But, if you find the convenience of digital better, more power to you friend !

You bought a PS5 even though you own one and a game that you own on another device?
Where you drunk?
Haha no. At that time I was still a big Call of Duty player and forget about my other games a lot. So I just forgot I already bought it for Xbox. But like I said before, I quit Call of Duty now, no trophies, no achievements, other than for campaign. It's just not worth it anymore, it's always the same also, guns, shoot, kill, win, lose, blah blah.

Keep the digital.

Rip off the band aid now. Physical media won't be around much longer so the sooner you get used to digital only gaming then all the better.

There is basically no point in physical games anymore. At best you might get a bit of money back if you sell it but it's not really worth it. It's a different story if it were Nintendo games. PS and Xbox games don't hold much value unless you're the kind of person who buys a game and rushes through it in a day or two then immediately sells it.

I wouldn't be surprised if next gen is digital only. Why do you think BOTH Sony and Microsoft have released digital only options? And do you think they care about you being able to save some money? They won't hesitate to make their consoles digital only because it means more money for them. Less costs due to manufacturing and shipping. Also it would wipe out the second hand market meaning you can't loan a game to your friend. They wanna play it? Go buy it for full price. Why sell a game for $50-60 at a retail store and let people sell their games when they could force everyone to pay $70 directly to them?

It sounds shit but Sony and Microsoft aren't your friend. They don't give a fuck about you. They are desperate to make their consoles digital only and it'll happen soon. They are already trying to warm people up to it by releasing digital only consoles.

As a PC gamer, trust me, a digital only existence ain't bad as some make it out to be. I haven't bought a physical PC game in at least 18 years and 10 years for Playstation or Xbox.

Physical will still exist next gen, sony still sell alot of Physical games. Be a digital and Physical model just like this gen.

My problem with digital PS5 is you just simple lose option, I mean you can still go all digital with PS5 disk if you want but there could be time you want physical version because of cool collectors edition so still have the option to buy the physical version of the game.

I mean both consoles are hideously ugly but the discless one is marginally less of an eyesore.

MAIN reason for discs is cheaper games, sometimes greatly so.

When you say you don't have room for disk games do you mean the cases? I keep all of the case insert stuff in a small folder and the games themselves in a binder. I always junk the actual case itself since I also live with limited space.

This entire thing reads like some AI made up story.

You have no money but buy a PS5? Knowing you have no room or money for gamediscs? Yet you bought a gamedisc while you already had that game for another console?

Either you were really drunk while doing all that or this story is complete made up bullshit.

Fuck your black plates and fuck your lack of space. Don't be a moron and keep the better version.

Do whatever you want of course. Your mind sounds made up.

Sell the disc version,
It’s 2023 despite some outliers most people in the general public buy digital games , you don’t have space for discs and the digital looks nicer too.

If you don’t buy disc based games the disc based one is just more space and looks huge.

I have a disc one with black plates but I can’t remember the last time I bought a disc based game.

Sell the digital and keep the disc version, Sony will release at any moment PSX, PS2 and PS3 backward compatibility, do you really wanna miss that?
It will happen any moment bro, trust me bro, its comming bro.

Dude. You on crack? NFS Unbound game disc bought yeah. Just saying about COD as well that I uninstalled all the games I have of COD. It's the same crap every time, it's getting old.

What compelled you to buy a 2nd PS5? Just curious.
IDK, just stupidity I guess. LOL. I was jelous that many others had the disc version. But hey look more stores have the disc version now. In fact I can never find the digital PS5 in my close walmart. Only the disc ones. But anyway I'd thought I'd let you all know that I put the black plates back on the digital console as well as transfer my M2 NVME 2TB SSD to the digital PS5. I love the black plates. Now all my consoles match again. All black. PS5, PS4 Pro, PS3 super slim, Xbox Series X, all black. Yeah I know I could of bought plates for the PS5 disc version, but like I said, I don't have money to buy anything right now, I just make sure to pay my rent and bills and credit cards. Food is taken care of by other people I live with.

You could have just ended it here.

No space for disc's but you got the disc version and then somehow bought a second discless version even though you could have just used the disc version for digital games anyway.

Sell both, join masterrace.
I will be going gaming PC in about a month. I'm not selling the PS5s though. Sony still has a whole bunch of exclusive games you can't get on PC. Plus I have over 300 games from PS1 PS2 PS3 PS4 PS5. So yeah. All the games I own on Steam right now are just re-buys I already had on console. I'm looking to gaming PC for the future for sure, as I don't have room for any more boxes, no more game disc boxes either. Gotta go all digital PC after the PS5 and Xbox Series X. And I'll repeat again, I'd let you all know that I put the black plates back on the digital console as well as transfer my M2 NVME 2TB SSD to the digital PS5. I love the black plates. I would say at this point all those 'exclusives' are only timed and singleplayer games don't run away. You can always play them later and i bet multiplayer games like Factions will be day1 Pc. I would sell PS5 + Series X right now and if you are a collector i would buy them at the end of this gen for much cheaper. For your old librarys you have the PS4 Pro. That's what i would do, but i'm Screech McDuck.

Well I have 13 digital games I bought for PS5 so yeah it be pretty wastefull selling it away. And for Xbox Series X I have about 50 digital games, so again pretty wastefull if selling it.

To me, if you are in certain regions, its almost stupid to not have the disc version. Games get cheaper faster. There is a certain convenience with going digital though.

Where I stay, digital is pretty much a must, being that everything here is imported. No income tax, property tax, vehicle tax...etc, sounds good, but what that means is that we pay what comes up to around 70% on taxes on goods.

Over here the true cost of an item is (whatever that item costs + what it cost to ship it)A + (Custom duties)53% of A + (VAT) 17% of A . This makes an $80 game ($70 game + $10 shipping) become a $136 game by the time I put it in my PS5.

Even if I bought a game used for say $40... the final cost to me is around $85 total. This is my primary reason for only buying digital.

Yeah that would for sure make sense. You get better savings on the PS sales than something that ships over seas.
