Is dropped loot only visible to onesself? I dropped a bunch of rares in town, and no one touches them.

You can't do that. Have to actually trade. Yes it is dumb, and with "online only" DRM doesn't make a lick of sense.

Slower mana regen could be a solution.

I doubt they are making any changes based on feedback from the two easiest levels of the game. If people are one-shotting enemies in these higher tiers (which sound exciting as hell) then I'd say, "Yeah, there's some balancing that needs to be done." With a proper build you should be burning through low level content.

. . .I went Chained Lightning and Spear with Triple Teleport and it's just fun, but there's no way I expect to be able to do that kind of kiting on the higher levels.

If you're in a party you can drop it to share, at least if you're in a dungeon.

That makes sense and I wonder if it also works while partying on the overmap.

. . .still dumb though that you can't have "SantaClaus6969" running around servers throwing off legendary items at god smacked new characters.

dope find if you are done!

You farm him for the level 27 gear, Then you imprint it which will drop the level requirement, so you can essentially wear 430 item power gear with a item level requirement as low as 8 after imprinting a legendary affix. Extracting a lower level legendary aspect and using on the 27 piece will drop the level requirement significantly

so you can supersize your stats

Where do you do this imprinting thing?

I switched to vet around level 10 because normal was too easy. All it does is make bosses more spongey though. Game is still ass easy. Downed the Den Mother on Vet first try with my Barb. Heard she was a tough fight for that class too.
That's unfortunate to hear. D3 these days requires you to grind up to pretty high greater rifts before it requires you to put any effort in your gameplay. Challenging but fun gameplay is almost a lost art these days, especially for Blizzard.

I get they are trying to sell cosmetics, but this zoom level is too much, especially after seeing the leaked early beta footage.

I would, as they've said that's exactly not how the BP will work and someone can easily point to the numerous comments from the devs that they wouldn't do something like this.
All they’ve said is it won’t be “pay 2 win”. Adding a respec currency isn’t altering power or giving players any advantages. It’s quite literally they kind of thing that thrives on a cash shop. Either grind your time or pay your cash. (Edit: The Premium Battle Pass is confirmed to include XP boosters, why is it so hard to imagine they’d turn around and sell respec tokens later?)

But hey, keep on optimistically believing what Blizzard says after years of them saying one thing and then doing another in every single property they own. Any time they find a way to increase their greed, they take it.

I’m a total deviant. Had so much fun this weekend I was trying to figure out how to upgrade my deluxe version on PS5 to the Ultimate. Please Blizzard add a button so I can give you $10 to not feel like I’m missing anything.

If you played the world boss encounter, that is the zoom level I would like to have all the time.

I am 25/75 here on the zoom issue. 25% is to sell cosmetics, 75% is for performance on all the platforms they are supporting.

You'd have to contact support to request a refund and then repurchase the Ultimate edition.

Shit. I thought everyone got the sleepy wolf boy cosmetic if they were in the beta. I need to do something to get it? What do I need to do?

The beta ends in 15 hours right? Is that enough time? I won't be able to play for another 8 hours so really I'll only have 7 hours.

Because they already have spelled out how those work: they are on the Free Track, can NOT be unlocked using the Battle Pass time skips and are level gated. And a Respec would absolutely be a power/time saver akin to XP boosters as it saves the time required to grind currency.

Fair enough. Along the same line, I could also do the hack take and be pessimist, critiquing Blizzard for a policy that they don't have. This being the internet and all.

I initially thought so too, but - at least with the Sorc outfits - you can clearly get a sense of what your character is wearing and how distinct it is from others, while also putting enough information on the screen. I do wish we COULD zoom ourselves - except when your camera has to be turned over to the encounter - in the overworld and aren't sure why we can't.

Seems like an odd design limitation. Either way, we're never going to get the absurd detail in the character select screen, which is insane (I wish you could get a more zoomed in version of your character in the info window.

It's what they presented and what we have to go by. Unfortunately the moment to moment game play is really dull and lacks a sense of progression. As much as I adore the franchise, the beta really had me questioning my pre-order.

You can zoom in.

After playing the beta demo I'm totally sold on this game. More complex then Diablo 3 but not ridiculously autistic as PoE. It feels like as if the game strikes a nice middle ground between "too simple" and "too complex". I think that does it for me.

I'm so pumped for my first playthrough. I will soak in all the dialogues and sidequests. I think they really tried to expand the diablo-feel with this game and I want to see where they take it with the story and the characters.

This will be a hellish hot june.

Everything about the beta surpassed my expectations in terms of the feel of gameplay, graphics, bosses and the size of the game. But specifically with APRGs, if the itemization and end game sucks, then it will sink the entire game.

Those two things have me greatly concerned because we can't get the entire picture of what end game gameplay looks like from this beta nor what end game gearing does. And what was shown in the beta looks exactly like D3 which is the worst case scenario to me.

Rares and Legendaries rain down like candy in the beta and many people were fully geared in all legendaries at lv 25. The dungeons are extremely repetitive and to make it worse, the maps aren't randomized which is going to be an enormous problem. There also is extremely limited trade and with how common rare item drops are, almost all of them will have zero trade value unless they either have +3 skills on them or have perfect rolls.

Yo, just hit 20. Think im done until the full release. This game will be massive.

The art direction and graphics are of the charts. Apart from some stutter (hopefully sorted before release) this looked absolutely top notch on my oled laptop.

This has gone from a maybe buy at some point to day one. Awesome way to spend a Sunday.

I liked the barb quite a bit until a did co-op with a sorce, equal level, which was 10x stronger than me but still seemed to have about the same hp pool.

That doesn't solve the problem of a lack of feeling of progression. Leveling up should make you feel stronger, that you suggest to turn down the difficulty to get this is silly, it should be tied to leveling up.

It's a shame Diablo doesnt have stat upgrades like Elden Ring when leveling, the customisation in that game is so much superior.
But leveling up does make you feel stronger. By the time the beta ended I was significantly stronger than I was at level 1. Between new skills, upgraded skills and loot you still have plenty of strength progression. And you haven't even seen Paragon stuff yet. I'm not seeing any lack of progression. And, to top that off, if you want more difficulty or ease you have several tiers of content to boot.
In Diablo 3 a legendary would give you an insane power boost. When it outlived its usefulness, you could cube it and keep the benefit. As of right now, Legendaries in Diablo 4 seem way less impactful, for reasons I can’t quantify. There are issues under the hood that need to be addressed by devs.
Because Legendaries were the final tier of gear in Diablo 3 and they aren't in Diablo 4.
Why does openworld need scaling? Elden Ring doesn't need it and plenty of others. It's a horrible mechanic.
You seem to lack complete understanding of how this game works. Comparing it to a singleplayer game is hilarious. In Elden Ring you run through a zone, kill the boss, and never go back, in this you'll be playing in the same areas multiple times. There is a reason WoW and ESO started scaling content. It would be dumb as hell to make a game you are expected to play for years and invalidate 99% of it so scrubs can feel "powerful" and one shot everything once they got to cap. The game you want would be a massive failure as an evolving open world multiplayer experience. It was also being completely boring to play as anything other than a singleplayer experience you play through once and then drop.

Got Barb and Sorc to level 16, will finish during the next weekend for lvl20 Beta rewards. A small summary of 4-5 hours:

1. Diablo itch is real.
2. The story looks way more darker and a little bit more "serious".
3. I like the graphics and the art style, much darker in tone.
4. Boss battles require way more care and structure, are structured more like small 5-Man dungeon bosses in WoW (a few mechanics, nothing crazy).

I played two characters in the beta last weekend. First was a barb, the other one a rogue. Maybe it was due to my inexperience with the game, but I had a much harder time with the bosses with the barbarien then with the rogue. The Barbarian can only melee the bosses and that makes him so much more vulnerable to these area of effect attacks many bosses have. With the rogue you can simply focus on dodging the attacks while spamming your own attacks. Unless I have missed something (which is entirely possible), I think blizzards needs to buff the barbarian.

I can see the sorcerer getting heavily nerfed, my first character I made was a barbarian and it took twice as long to level it up to 25 than the sorcerer did. With the sorcerer you just press a button and everything on the screen dies with the lightning attacks

The Barb definatley needs buffing, feels incredibly underpowered at the moment

Imo they should add more affixes into the loot. Make it more interesting that way. Right now it's a bit barebone.
Would be nice to see mods for D4 but i don't think it will happen.

Same. Barb feels way more fun; but compared to him Sorc is melting faces, especially with Hydra. I will try melee Rogue next weekend, didn't play that build at all. I am thinking some WoW Rogue with shadowstep and crazy Dodge will be fun to play.

The term 'scrubs' in gaming is mostly used by angry british 16 year olds, but I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

For one, Elden Ring has co-op and pvp, just like Diablo4. Two, you seem to evaluate this is a binary option, but there are plenty of other options to help both progression and relevance of areas of the game, for example, scaling can be used for NG+.

The problem with removing the scaling is that you would be able to carry early players with a high level character and basically power level them, I think this is what Blizzard are trying to avoid

The way it is now means that everyone will level at the same rate, in Diablo 3 you could create a new character, join a game with somebody who was max level and basically get the high level player to power level your character up to max in 10 minutes

With this being an MMO Lite ARPG, they can't have that happen, as it would completely ruin the experience

Usually if you try leaving the town from another entrance it works
