Hi-Fi Rush Leaker Claims Starfield And Redfall's Development Is In "Rough Shape" (Rumour)

What I've learnt from the other threads and Internet over the last few days is that if starfield and redfall are in bad shape then it has nothing to do with MS and the fault only lays with Bethesda because MS have nothing to do with Hi Fi Rush being s good game as its all Bethesda as they operate independently of their owners Microsoft.

This imo is not true snf if starfield and redfall release and they are buggered its MS fault as they should have delayed them and taken the bad rep hit for that. As long as the games are the best they can be then so be it.
Not sure anyone's noticed lately but, Xbox has been releasing games that are very polished these days. I'm speaking on performance and visuals, not on opinions of the games are good games or not. That's subjective.

But the games that have come out lately have been very polished. No way Xbox release Both Redfall and Starfield in a bad way. I'm thinking this rumor is straight bullocks!

Meh… I see nothing appealing about Redfall. Yet another open world game… with optional co op. The most recent trailer didn’t do it any favors.

Starfield should be delayed indefinitely until it’s completely polished and ready to go. My subscription will likely stay inactive till it releases.

??? Are you saying Bethesda don't release patches to fix bugs...Sorry I don't understand you.
Yes.
That is exactly what I am saying. The Elder scrolls franchise only lasted this long because the PC unofficial patches, made by fans, are keeping it working.

I guess you have never played a Bethesda game before?

I played every single bethesda game that has ever existed. Never had an issue where the game is unplayable. Plus bethesda releases patches all the time to fix bugs. you're full of shit.

I was expecting Starfield to stick to the TES/Fallout formula. However watching the footage, the world is too barren for that to work (imo). Vast space deserts are far less explorable than a densely packed Fallout suburb. I can still imagine a game where the barren space deserts work, but it's going to need stellar gunplay, which was not on display during the Starfield demo. Redfall I think has a better chance. Arkane are masters at gunplay and have only stumbled on Deathloop (which IMO, might have started it's life as a $39.99 mini release and would have been better received by the fans released as such). I don't fully believe Arkane when they say Redfall was always intended to be vampire Farcry. It might have morphed into that after the lukewarm reception to the "vampire L4D with Fortnite aesthetics". Either way, I'm day 1 on both because the studio pedigree's are top tier and the gaming landscape is almost as barren as the Starfield landscape.

Whatever. If you are not a liar, you would be the first veteran Bethesda gamer on the internet who said the bugs get fixed by Bethesda.

I would ask for your credentials, but it hardly matters. Bethesda is still the same company as it always were and I expect a Starfield PC Unofficial Community Patch version 1.0 within a few month of release.

By the way, here is the current Skyrim Special Edition Community Patch. Fixing bugs that are known that Bethesda still doesn't fix.

Then give them that extra year. I prefer to wait than to complain about quality.
You know who would prefer not to wait.....the people who actually have money on the line, the shareholders funding this shit. Peoples livelihoods that ride or die on something making a return in a specific tax year. That Miyamoto quote really did persuade a whole generation of gamers that these incredibly expensive to make consumer products are actually built with magic and dreams.

It used to be that Bethesda's problems were Bethesda's. Now, Bethesda's problem are Microsofts'. Microsoft literally paid the privilege to deal with Bethesda's problems. Don't start crying tears now that they brought this upon themselves.

Posted in the other thread that Starfield is in trouble and needs another year as I was told
So my immediate reaction to all of this is actually anger. Not on Bethesda, because Microsoft bought them well into the development of Starfield. What irritates me is that because of this acquisition, now that MS is in charge and their financials aren't doing so hot + Xbox needs to pump out exclusives, they're turning to Bethesda and pressuring them to perform.

Azure performing horribly shouldn't force Starfield to launch prematurely.

But in business that's just how it's going to be.

Phil needs to give Todd Howard as much time as his team needs to make Starfield a GOTY candidate. Starfield absoluetely cannot fail for the sake of the Xbox brand. Delay if its needed, do not rush this game out.

We got a leak saying it was 99% done, and now we have this saying it's in bad shape.

Sorry to say guys but there can't be another delay. you will get Starfield as is whether it's good or another early Fallout 76 problem.

Starfield already cause an uproar twice, if they delay again the hype is gone and the wait will be too long to keep interest up. There will be zero way for it to live up to inflated expectation if it gets another delay, and whatever hype and sales they can still get by the excitement for this game would be gone.

At worst, it will be Fallout76, or maybe better, but will be patched.

At best, this rumor is false and the game will be fine.

But there's no space for another delay for any Microsoft games this year that have already received delays.

No crying here buddy. What I said has nothing to do with whether I like Bethesda or not. Personally I think Bethesdas track record is borderline criminal in recent years and they should feel the repercussions of their actions. What I was getting at with my comment was that gamers say things like 'give them an extra year' like the only thing between the devs and releasing a great game is just time. When that isn't true. When you plan out a project with the people who are funding it you lay out a plan, that plan dictates the workflow/budget and when the project is looking to be released. Bethesda would have been the ones to lay that plan out, but here they are again, delays and rumours of an unfinished product. This isn't an issue with the big bad executives ruining games with deadlines, its bad project management on Bethesdas side. Who's to say an extra year would even fix the issues considering Bethesda can't even keep to their own schedules. You've seen it yourself, bugs that remain in their games for decades, having to be fixed again and again by modders. You can't just fund an extra year of development out of nowhere. This costs millions and those millions are represented in actual labour. Either you beg for money without the promise of a return from your investors, or you start making people unemployed. You can't just sprinkle some Miyamoto magic dust on everything and hope you release a hit.

IMO, Cyberpunk biggest issue was last gen. consoles.

I thought that too at first, Cyberpunk's biggest issues is their publisher.

The game's problems are beyond simply bugs and glitches, the biggest issues are missing content, the genre literally changing and its over all design. Its not like playing it on next gen or PC magically makes it turn into a RPG again the way it was first shown, the AI gets smarter and NPCs like cops actually function or something.

So at first it really appears to be last gen systems, but this just can't be the case as why does Watchdogs have 3 fucking games on last gen all working perfectly fine with literally MORE world changing features? Theses guys are struggling to get a fucking train to just MOVE, yet in Watchdogs you literally can manipulate that train, cause black outs, change traffic light, actual cops BEHAVE as cops would in real life chasing you by land, air and sea.

Are we really sure at this point "last gen" was to blame for CP2077 having issues? How come other titles exist on last gen with those features intact? Didn't we hear the same shit about Witcher 3's downgraded look? ohhh its last gen systems, weak PS4 and XONE, yet Red Dead 2, AC Odyssey, Valhalla, Origins and most of all Ghost Of Tsushima all proved that was massively incorrect. It was merely CDPR that was unable to do those things. Thats all I can take from this situation, its the team either not having enough staff, the publisher rushing the development or something, but I can't blame last gen systems when this game was literally fucking made for 8 plus years using that tech in the first place.

So this whole myth that last gen is to blame is just bs. At first glance I can see why some might say that, yet where the fuck are the return of those missing features on PS5, Series X, PC? Are those systems now to blame too or?

You really need a 5090 to have a train system now or? lol =)

That was what I was hoping for after the studio purchase. But recent news about Halo Infinite development is starting to make me think Xbox Management is no isle of stability. For a long time we blame the development teams for all the issues, but if management is the problem then Bethesda is not going to get better.

I was thinking the same thing, but over time its sounding doubtful.

I think Starfield will be as polished as it can be and will release in the condition it would have released in regardless of the MS purchase. imho Fallout 4 released rock solid, some bugs here and there, but nothing game breaking. So I think they'll be fine, but I'm not sure I'm willing to bet that has much to do with MS at the moment as they still have their issues internally regarding management.

Redfall will be ready to go. No way Phil allows Starfield to releases unpolished. The game has the potential to be a massive new IP for Xbox and almost certainly will be a system seller and increase Gamepass numbers substantially. It'll be surprisingly well polished up on release. I wouldn't doubt if Bethesda had help from other studios like TC.

But I'm betting Starfield will be high calibur. Moreso than any Bethesda game has ever been. It has to be. Expectations are really high on this one.

Like, can you imagine if Bethesda's new IP (25 years in the making, mind you) comes out like every other Bethesda game? I can hear the fanboys all ready.

"25 years in the making and it still has bugs!'

"Bugthesda Eternal!'

"Even with Microsoft money, bugs still plague Bethesda games!"

It'll be endless and annoying AF! They'll tighten up or reep the whirlwind. Phil ain't havin' it. I'm telling you...

Once again, you can replace the word "Starfield" with "Halo Infinite", and the sentence would still make sense. Just because they can't afford to fail doesn't mean they wouldn't fail. They are two separate issues.

Xbox being desperate for a hit does not improve Starfield's chances. Everyone WANT a system seller. If only it was so easy to wish a system seller into existence.

Performance is one thing. But Bethesda makes stellar games - with bugs! The pedigree is there in spades and aces. These are generation defining games. 343i has a rocky pedigree even though they are the house of Halo. And I think Halo Infinite is a great game! The DLC has been spotty but the game itself is fire! But Bethesda is well known for huge RPG's. Great RPG's.

Microsoft isn't desperate for a IPs either. They just had a few in the last year and one just a couple of days ago. Starfield is a big deal though. A really big deal. It has to be polished. They'll delay again if it's necessary. And I don't think they want to do that either. They've done it once already.

Theres been enough games that have been hyped although their preview and alpha build were in rough state only to receice massive backlash on release due to its rough state on release.

But we as consumers just don't learn anything from it.
People in this thread are already saying they get it day one, regardless how its gonna review.

So why would MS or Bethesda care do to their Job properly if they have enough stupid fans to buy their shit anyways?

Sadly theres enough gamers that will buy into anything even early alpha games just to be able to play something new.
We can see that clearly with all this early access titles on steam for example.

I also tend to have that urge to play a new / another game even if I know its in Early Access or release in a rough state.
But I've learned to only do that for indies/new small studios.

I will not do that though if its a well funded long lasting company that is developing the game.
If the game was broken or in rough shape it would be getting reported. So if the game is playable start to finish by a number of people playing it, then it's obviously not broken or in rough shape.
Bethesda are known for their bugs, like walking into a room and there's no floor in it.
Most of that stemmed from needing to get the game out to start getting some money in. Zenimax and Bethesda wernt a cash flushed entity. Microsoft how ever are, and they are more than happy to keep a game back and let it release in as good a position as possible.
To be honest, Halo multiplayer aside, MS games always tend to release in excellent shape.
I'm sure when MS went to see Bethesda and looked at Starfield, Todd was saying "yeah we can release it in Nov, but we are going to have to send a number of patches out" and Uncle Phil said "Nah, delay it. We want it to be come out in as good a shape as it can be.
Like Redfall, it got delayed, but it wasn't delayed for 1 or 2 years, it was like 6 months. That to me talks about polish and bug fixing territory. Halo on the other hand was delayed for 12 months.

They’ve said repeatedly that there are core worlds with handcrafted environments that’ll be just as dense as any of their previous RPGs.

Then lots of procedurally generated planets for side quests/resource mining etc.

For the core content that’s relevant to story, those Won’t be barren, sparsely populated space deserts.

I have not been impressed with what I've seen of Starfield. The RPG mechanics look really good, but the gameplay and the worlds look so goddamn bland. You're making an Space Exploration version of TES/Fallout, and you make it look as bland as fucking possible, and no variety of intelligent alien races for you to meet. Imagine Mass Effect in the style of Skyrim, where you have you own ship, can travel planet to planet, doing random side missions and exploration, interacting with aliens, joining factions, develop relationships, get married, buy a home, form a crew, have a variety of classes and builds, etc etc.

Bethesda wanted to make a deep sci-fi exploration RPG, and they couldn't have made it look more dull if they tried. By all accounts it should be the Space RPG we've been clamoring for since Bioware killed Mass Effect. On top of that I never for a second thought that the game would release in a finished state. They have a history of horribly buggy launches, and with Starfield being their most ambitious yet, I'm supposed to believe they'll turn shit around? Here comes another Bethesda disaster.

You cannot ‘replace the word Starfield with Halo Infinite’
One had a troubled development and required rebooting and dramatic content cuts to ship in time.
The other hasn’t had any reports of development issues, aside from the standard COVID related delays that pretty much every AAA title had.

…or these could just be unfounded rumors. Who knows?

‘Delays’? They’ve had ONE delay thus far.

This is exactly what I expected when they teased it ~4 years ago. A more refined Mass Effect with open space exploration (via user controlled ship), distinct and massive hubs/cities on certain planets with shops, clubs, apartments, etc. (like Omega and Illium in ME, but fully explorable), and buildable crews/settlements/relationships. Alien species/races would've been a nice bonus as well.

What they've shown so far of Starfield definitely looks a bit bland, at least stylistically.

I’m fairly certain this will be my game of the generation. This is exactly the game I’ve been waiting for. Even Cyberpunk for all its flaws had more going for it than 90% of modern AAA games.

I think the whole premise of the game will be exploring a ancient builder artifacts. So who knows if there will be any surprises by the end of it.

Is he trying to fool anyone? I platted Skyrim on PS3 and completed Fallout 3 and NV on PS3 too, platted Fallout 4 on PS4 - never had any issue that made any of those games unplayable.

There’s an increasing contingent of folks keen to paint a picture of Bethesda games launching as horribly as Cyberpunk did.

Not sure what they're on

Unsteady Framerate was the main issue with last year's footage. That's something that's often tidied up during optimization and polishing.

Looks like you're going with hyperbole here

Sure, I can't fully judge a game til it's out. Everything we've seen so far, and everything they've talked about, it's looking like they took the least interesting route.

Nope, no hyperbole.

If the game was that unsteady in a cherry picked demo I’m expecting a technical disaster unless there’s a big delay or a massive downgrade.

I’ve seen this many many many times.
