fantastic first episode

Okay I watched the first episode. This was masterful. Really loved the first episode. Reminded me of how much I loved the first game.

That scene... Always gets you. I knew it was coming.. still got me. Damn good performances.

Was instantly sold on Pascal's Joel but wasn't sure about Bella's Ellie.. but damn after like 5 mins I couldn't tell a difference.

Wish they released 3 episodes per week. I'm in for the entire season. But as soon as season 2 is announced I'm done. Unless it doesn't follow TLOU part 2 but rather stays with Joel/Ellie.

I was planning on skipping this show since I didn't want to spoil the game in case it ever comes to Xbox. But my wife saw an ad for it and now wants to watch it because "the guy from Mandalorian is in it," so I guess we'll be watching it on HBOMAX soon. Personally, except for Sean of the Dead I'm not a fan of zombie movies or TV shows and have skipped Walking Dead completely, so I'm not that hyped going into this. The little kid had some good scenes in Game of Thrones, so that's about the only saving grace for me going in. But since Last of Us is apparently the greatest story ever told I'm sure it will win me over after a couple episodes. Hope the show lives up to the hype.

I have criticisms of the game and those may carry over to the TV show depending how accurate the adaptation is. If I admitted I was wrong about something it's usually because convincing evidence was presented which was not the case SLB1904's replies, so far he's just being very dismissive of any criticism. What "insane" theories have I repeated?

He is an authority on the world he created but there's things like "Death of the author" that can stain any author's work. Big claims require at least some evidence and it has to be more than some character or document says so for me to be convincing.
