Why do all Marvel Movies have the Robert Rodriguez look now?
Might give Marvel one final chance since this one seems to be important for the overall plot. But these phase has been complete trash except for like the first half of Shang Chi

The Wasp’s hair looks like crap. And we got the usual blackwashing. Beyond that, the trailer doesn’t show much. For all we know, it’ll be crap like the last Ant-Man movie.

I don’t know… I liked the other 2 a lot but this one feels off. That being said, there is kang, Rudd, and lily so I’ll probably watch. Since watching crappy Thor, I’m not sure what it is but I’m just not as excited for the new ones anymore. Wasn’t even that excited for it either. I think the ham fisted messaging has gotten to me

Looks good, but I'm already tired of this type of plot where the protagonists cause the problem that they then have to fix.
Very true, Just count how many MCU plots are basically a reaction to the main characters thoughtless(?) action or a "hey, we are just exploring this tech" type stuff.

Iron Man was terrible for this, hell, his irresponsible tech spread over to Spiderman movies!

Some of this I feel is a natural story progression and for things like Chitauri tech lying aorund it makes more sense, but the script writing need to make the movie DIRECTLY CONNECT to the hero in a deep personal way removes a lot of their "hero" agency IMHO. They are reacting to clean up their own mess or deal with a personal problem, they are not going out to help others. Thor and Starlord are examples of this latter aspect. Rather than develop a relationship between the hero and villain withIN the film, they make it already established prior to the first reel. Even James Bond suffered for this in the Craig era, Brosnan a bit less so.

It's kinda crazy to think we are on the 3rd Ant-man movie. When you told me when they first announced Ant-man that he would get a trilogy, I would have laughed. But here we are.

That last one, where the ant-man transformed into michael douglas wife, was the worst scene in the entire mcu.

I hope they can get this right, considering the state of some of the more recent movies, but i can't stand using cameos to increase hype. Not a good sign.

It's not a cameo. It's literally introducing the big bad of the next Avengers movie.

After the utter abomination that was Thor Love and Thunder I'm just about done with these hyper coloured green screen flicks, I'll check it out when it hits Kodi with a few beers but am I fuck wasting another cent on a Marvel movie in the cinema, Christ and to think this studio give us Winter Soldier.. what happened??

unless Harrison Ford is gonna have major parts in future movies, its a cameo.

He's Thunderbolt Ross. William Hurt wasn't really a cameo. He was the villain in Incredible Hulk and Civil War. Harrison Ford is in Cap 4 and then Thunderbolts and likely will be Red Hulk.

If he lives long enough. The fella is old. Bets on who'll replace Ford?

Man what's with the colors? I've always hate blue or brown filtered colors and anything that looks ugly like that. This movie is the complete opposite with bright colors that pretty much pierce your eyes. But that's just the thing. The contrast looks incredibly high. Don't get me wrong, I like that it's colorful but I think it's a little bit too much.

A new trailer, and I'm really not liking the look. Everything looks so CG and uninspired. I'll wait until it's on D+.

EDIT: Also kinda weird how many comments on there have people in goosebumps.

Was it filmed in the volume?

That isn’t it. Avatar 2 doesn’t look real either. All of it suffers from uncanny valley.

I wish they hadn't spoiled that MODOK is Darren Cross that obviously. I mean we all read the leaks but come on bruh. Now it's in the damn trailer. You even see his unmasked face.

Marvel must be crossing their fingers that the future introductions into MCU go well, because right now we have a B/C-team of mostly replacements presented as the main players. Fantastic 4 and X-Men are seriously needed to bring some star power to the characters, and if they don't make people care again the MCU is destined to fade away.

Why are there two Wasps and one Antman in that poster? Movie seems to be more about Wasp than Antman, hope it's not another Mutilverse of Madness situation.

Marvel seems to have a knack for turning titular characters into side characters in their own movie.

If it's another female wasp on his side then that also seems to fall in line with the trend of anchoring Marvel male characters with 2 or more females in movies.

What YouTube Nazi is feeding you that bullshit? Phase 4 was extended. Originally Thor was the end of Phase 4.

When Phase 4 was revealed, Thor was the end of it. It was since extended. The image above is fan-made.

Phase 4 was cut short and apart from No Way Home (which was more a Sony movie) their movies haven't hit 1 billion while phase 3 had multiple billion+ movies.

Too soon to claim it's fading away but I doubt Marvel is liking this trajectory.
Exactly. I didn't say it will fade quickly, but a downward trend is a downward trend. They blew through their top tier cast already, and if they fail to elevate anyone else to similar heights then plateauing is the absolute best they could wish for.

Who do we have at the moment that isn't a sidekick/alternate/replacement?
Thor
Hulk
Strange
Spider-Man
Captain Marvel
Shang Chi

Of those, Spider-Man is the only one that recently had a sequel that didn't disappoint. Strange's sequel wasn't even about him.

New Cap and Winter Soldier as a pair aren't as good as Chris Evans on his own, and that's one of the stronger replacements.

I did enjoy Loki, Wandavision, and Moon Knight, but the rest was mixed at best.

People are free to remain superfans, and I'm happy for them if they are, but MCU isn't half as interesting as it once was and I imagine the numbers reflect that.

Might be true about the panel, but were Geek Society straight up lying about Quantumania and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 being part of Phase 4 in their piece?

The Marvel reveal was in December 2021 and that piece from May 2021.

GOTG 3 and Quantumania were featured in the phase 4 line up trailer

This trailer was a snooze, and I loved the first two Ant-Man movies.
Fatigue has truly set in for me on these Marvel movies. I genuinely felt like I have seen this movie before, so I turned the trailer off about 2/3rds of the way through.
This will be a D+ night at some point with my kids. Nyikes on those special effects too!!!

Seems like the late re-shoots unprecedently close to release for any MCU movie were to add Marvel humor to an otherwise serious story, possibly to its detriment.

But even with that it appears to be one of the better MCU movies as of late.

The full plot got leaked sometime ago. Link below for those interested. Please usespoiler tag if you’re going to discuss in this thread, at least until the movie releases.

Recast Chris Evans do we really want a new cap at this moment? Probably not. I haven’t even touched on wolverine yet and what Sony is trying to do with Spider-Man.

The goosebumps are because of the last few lines of the trailer, which also sold me on this being potentially better than I first thought. It would be a good start to phase 5 if this ends up being a surprise hit. Also I just want another movie that takes itself as seriously as Winter Soldier. That movie's tone, pacing, and storytelling shouldn't be a lightning in a bottle situation but it continues to be.

I still strongly feel that Marvel/Disney needs to slow down on releases though instead of making this a factory of content like it's Call of Duty or Assassin's Creed.

Why do they INSIST on doing trailers like this. The first trailer for this film was excellent. If you didn't know who Kang was, there was a mystery there to who this guy is and what their motives are. This thing basically spoils the whole arc of the movie, because, let's be honest, Marvel Movies follow the same beat and with everything in this trailer you basically know the movie from start to finish.

. . .more, if the studio did come in and add "wackiness" to a movie that didn't need it and would have been the first MCU movie to actually be interested in telling a mature grown up story - it might be time for Feige to step on down and get some new blood in there (if he's still running things).

I think it looks good. I am also happy Kang is beat-ass in this. I was afraid he was going to be all calm and boring the entire time.
