January 2023’s PlayStation Plus Essential games have seemingly been revealed ahead of an official announcement.

Dealabs user billbil-kun, who has been accurately leaking the PlayStation Plus line-ups almost every month since September 2021, has published what they claim to be the new titles coming to the service next month.

January’s PlayStation Plus games will reportedly be Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS5/PS4), Fallout 76 (PS4) and Axiom Verge 2 (PS5/PS4). They’ll be available to claim from January 3 until February 7.

I've seriously been considering giving fallout 76 a try for a while, if I don't like the gunplay on 4 will I dislike it on 76? It felt like my shots would miss even when hitting lol

Fallen Order, massive get.

Funny how PS Plus (Essential has gone).

From being the absolute best deal in gaming in the PS3 era. To bring (IMO) pretty shit throughout the PS4 era, particularly for the first 3 years. To now coming back around and being a very compelling offer.

Decent lineup if you had none. I didn't know there was a second Axiom Verge for happy out twofold.

If Fallout 76 wasn't online, I'd give it a shot. I had less than 10 hours this year online so online will never grab me.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
JF: O is a flawed but excellent game. Glad more people can get a chance to play it without hesitation before the sequel.

Do I love Jedi fallen order? No. But because it’s Star Wars it’s a commanding game to play, the combat is crazy.

Why are people so down in Fallout 76? I played it for a few hours and thought it was decent but is a heavy crafting game which is not really my thing. Surprised at all the hate, it launched in a bad state but I thought it was in a decent place now after all the patches and content drops.

To be fair...Sony couldn't really do much for the first few years of the PS4 era since PS3 games weren't playable there and they basically "started from 0". A lot of these excellent games we're getting early on the PS5 gen for PS Plus are PS4 games or PS4 games with PS5 upgrades when we look at it.

If only Premium had offers like this...sigh

Premium does have stuff like this. Exactly this, in fact. Then it also has all the Extra stuff, and game streaming and some classics on top of that. If you don't think those additional things are worth the higher cost, downgrade.

Glad I didn’t buy Axiom Verge 2, it doesn’t look as cool as the first game anyway. I have a feeling it didn’t do well.

Sony: Microsoft will block games from being on our service!
Also sony: oh here's one of microsoft games on ps plus, hopefully the ftc is too stupid to see through our bullshit

I already have Fallen Order, and I'd rather stick my dick into a blender before I'd ever play Fallout 76...

but Axiom Verge 2 is a game I had on my radar for a while
Me too but if they give it for essential will sell my physical PS5 version. So if it´s true then will be a good month for me.

I knew they wouldnt do shit with Premium and just put a bunch of PSNow PS3 games as “classics”
Really wished they put the PS1/PSP/PS2 games that are on the PS3/Vita store on PS5. Heck Id pay for them individually.

They sorted the licneses for the classic games for PS3 even after PS4 launched, they can do it again

I think the biggest complaint people have with Fallout 76 is the fact the game is dog shit.

But, if you can look past that, then I guess the game could be for you.
Well there are 11000 playing right now on steam alone and other sites saying there are between 26000 and 42000 online so I am not sure how you can have that opinion unless you are saying it’s not for you.

Is that actually the narrative your brain conjured up?

I almost bought Star Wars and I'm glad I didn't. I like the game but was already playing other things at the time and didn't really remembered about it until I saw on sale. Now for Axion Verge 2, thats a good game. Fallout 76 not so much.

Didn't have to invent anything, sony did this themselves
This deal was made with Sony and Bethesda. Micrsoft does not own Bethesda yet. Something else you should consider; these deals take time and do not happen overnight. It is likely this was in place before the purchase.

+1 for Puffy

I think my Fallout 76 is still unopened. Won't be downloading it. Other games seem decent, might give them a try.

They've owned Bethesda since last year.

Why are people so down in Fallout 76?
The game launched in a bad state and gamers have thin skin, never were able to recover when the game became very good — and also, a lot of people here are childish fanboys and because Bethesda is owned by MS, they can’t in good faith praise it. Biggest problem with GAF these days is you can to take what most say with a grain of salt.
