[LTTP] Cyberpunk 2077 ----- NeoGaf, I was wrong about this game.

Did you like it after playing it yourself?

Indeed, i put tons of mods to make the game feel harder. Its a problem i also had with The Witcher 3.

As a matter of fact, i think this is a deliberate design choice by CDPR to make their games casual friendly, because some of the mods i used said the game is actually putting limiters in place that make enemies and bosses easier. Enemies don't shoot guns as frequently as they technically can for example, and Adam Smasher also isn't as ruthless as he can be in the final boss fight.
An rpg should make feel progressions \exploration meaningful, making the game casual friendly even when the user chose max difficulty is a fundamental design flaw.

They should unlock that stuff you speak about at least for max difficulty, let the player chose what type of experience he wants.

I completed it 100% on a base PS4 lol.
On day 1 it would crash almost every time I got into a car.

Still loved it.

I just wish the city had more life.

Why have they put out another major patch and finished making the product yet?

I don't know about the recent patch history. I only know what I played over the past week with the game and my enjoyment with it.

If you're unwilling to give it a shot then no probs. You're perfectly entitled to do that.

I really enjoyed the game, and I think there's a lot there to love about the game, if you're only able to look past its glaring flaws.

I never liked how the fixers just "knew" you somehow and would constantly shovel quests your way. Story-wise there should have been introductions, gaining trust, etc.

they actually added a reputation system after 1.5. Now you have different tiers of gigs and can only unlock new ones after completing enough gigs in a certain district.

There still no story related introduction to these people, it's just drive to "their" area and they magically know your phone number.

I plan on returning once the cop and vehicle-to-vehicle combat systems are overhauled as promised. I'm hoping that will come as part of the upcoming Phantom Liberty dlc.

I played it on Series X at launch and never understood all the uproar, the only real problem I had was the cops spawing in on top of you.

Haven't played it since the next gen patch and Edgerunner update, I should go back and see what they have added.

[X] I thought it was good, but there wasn't anything spectacular or revolutionary in any way about it

Played & finished it on PS5 after the patch. Story was quite good and I liked the weapons, although the constant looting and comparing gear was tiresome. Also, the city was nice to look at but there wasn't much to do.
Overall I think it was hyped up WAY too much and I've experienced better "FPS with RPG elements gameplay" in earlier Deus Ex or Bioshock titles.

i mean... doesn't sound impossible going by the game's setting. Also doesn't waste player's time so i think it was the correct choice here.

Its an okay game in my book, even ignoring its bugs.
I just love the start of the, so much potential wasted when it started being about life&death. Wish the game main story was more about the first main quests. Geez, even the intro about being a corpo was so damn good, wished it lasted longer.

I think this is fair and I don't even disagree at all.

But I still have a cracking great time with the game. Just loved it.

I wouldn't score it more than a 7.5/10, but there's no denying that I enjoyed it far more than most 9/10 consensus games.

I'm an absolute sucker for Sci-Fi settings and Cyberpunk in particular, from the 90s animes that I grew up with (e.g. Ghost in the Shell, Bubblegum Crisis, etc etc). This game def felt closest to those cyberpunk animes from the 90s... it was fucking great!

I played through game after a lot of patches were released - so gameplay was mostly bug free. So I would also give it 7/10 rating as well. Game would be much closer to Ghost in the Shell if it would follow storyline that was scrapped, when CDPR brought in Keanu. I blame Badowski for everything.

I gave the game another chance after the anime (super buggy at launch so I stopped playing), and I enjoyed it for the most part... but it's still buggy as hell. FOr instance, I was cruising through the city listening to I Want To Stay At Your House when my car suddenly clipped through the ground and launched me INSIDE a nearby building...

It's a good game, I played it on PC last year. No major bugs. I'm looking forward for the DLC.

I had a great experience on the XSX. Game still has some flaws but overall it was excellent. Also, the world is amazing and I love the level of detail. To me it is a very solid 8.5/10, maybe even 9/10.

I knew i would love it bc it's the kind of games that's just made for me. And that was the case in the end. Doesn't stop me from being disappointed by what CDPR did with the launch, and even besides those obvious problems i understand the criticism towards some aspects of the game (just like TW3). But yeah it works perfectly for me despite the flaws. Not the best RPG but definitely top tier narrative game (and contrary to TW3 it's fun to play at least).

It was my GOTY, Steam counter says 270 hours. It’s not perfect but it’s great and it has among the most immersive story telling ever and when people complain about combat I wonder what other RPG they compare it to. It has a crazy amount of different skill sets as well.

Still…
Should’ve been a quiet protagonist.
Should’ve had more actual roleplaying, everything kinda goes into the same main story quite fast no matter which lifepath you start with.
Should’ve hade more body customizations than penis and breast size.
Should’ve had more exploration rewards.
Should’ve hade better citizen AI, Matrix demo did it better and someone threw that together in a few months.

But it is an unbalanced mess even now, i thought that being an hacker was stupidly op before my second run with invisibility, bullet time and wire build or the silenced pistol stealth and headshots route...

Enemies just can't keep up.
yes that was a problem to me too

I was godlike pretty early

can kill pretty much everyone with a snap of fingers

all the boss fights that suposed to be memorable where too easy and quick

hacking was very op

I call it the biggest waste of assets ever in video game's history.

Ps.- One of the most annoying and hilariously bad things in the game must have been the driving and traffic system, Driver San Francisco was doing leagues better 11 years ago in a tiny fraction of the budget, Cyberpunk is pure incompetence:

I also believde in the negative hype and didn't play it right away.
I actually finished it right before the Netflix Edgerunners anime was released, when the hype on it blew up. Crazy timing! lol
Anyways, the game is fantastic! Nothing like I thought it was going to be like. Liked it so much, I finished absolutely every mission, side mission, etc. I also replayed the ending to see the multiple different endings.

Can't wait for the DLC coming out soon!

Yeah.

Adam smasher? More like adam smashed.

I loved it. People were expecting it to have rockstar level AI/behavior or something but I don’t see how you could believe that to ever happen after playing the Witcher. They just don’t make open worlds that work that way

Got it when the next gen update arrived, even bought it beforehand since CDPR said the update will be free and $25 for the digital ver is a good deal to me. The game was good, i also want to replay it when the expansion arrive.

I had a blast with the game and selected it was lit. The main issue I had were the cars and motorcycles were not fun to drive. The car chases were terrible, after a few of them I didn't want to do them. The car was just a little faster way to get around until you could find a warp point. There were some bugs, but nothing that took me out of the game. Game play and story kept me hooked the whole time.

I dunno, CP2077 to me is a mediocre shooter with basic leveling up mechanics, absolutely nothing special about it. The narrative feels completely stitched together and the partner AI is laughably bad. Your buddy fighting the mech while trying to escape the hotel, just standing there getting blasted while yelling to take cover, etc.

The game is a complete mess of partial ideas and gamers were 100% hoodwinked. I bought it out of morbid curiosity and even when it got fixed, it was still underwhelming as can be.

played it on ps4 & had a great time. maybe i was just lucky, but experienced no major bugs/glitches. too over-ambitious for its own good, but, hey, when there's so much fun to be had, i'm not gonna complain...

Even though the game is first person view, I still wish I could adjust the height of V in the creator. I tried to make her look like myself in the creator. Does anyone know how tall the two V options are officially?

EDIT: If this is true, then Damn her for being 3 inches taller than I am.

I got it during the November steam sale. I really liked it, despite the eurojank that was still there, seemed to get worse the longer I played.
I was surprised about the detail put into vehicle design, even the minivan looked great.

So was I, I'm not exactly fan of WRPGs but I always fan of cyberpunk genre. one think I assumed was this game will play like FPS game but in actual game you can build your character that just uses melee or even just use quickhacking to take out your enemies without ever using your guns. Another wrong assumption was the story just gonna be like GTA but in cyberpunk setting but I was wrong and liked the story a lot.

Jackie. I actually like Jackie, I need to go back and finish the game to see if anything happens to him.

Trying to keep my comments spoiler free.

I should clarify too, I don't hate the game or think it's not worth playing. It's just a complete mess to me regardless of how many fixes it receives. It is night and day different though between now and when it released, I'll give CDPR credit for that.

As someone that liked the game since launch (and replayed it with each major patch) I'll always find it amusing how nothing much has changed yet now people love it. The lot of you are crazy.

Yes, you were. Many still are.
Why do people say shit like this? You liked the game, ok. Maybe you had a lower bar, maybe you had zero/different expectations going in. Others did. Expectations given what they promised which were perfectly valid. Even setting those aside, the game has massive flaws and you can tell which parts they rushed, cut, or straight up didn't finish due to time constraints and changing direction (the intro, life paths, hardly an RPG, making it all about Keanu). Maybe if you were more observant you'd notice the massively missed potential everywhere, from gameplay to story, which even the best built city in gaming cannot compensate for.

I love the game but I can acknowledge the issues. I admit I give the game passes because I love the setting and atmosphere.
