Christ, Sylvie in the final episode just put a seemingly infinite number of lives in jeapordy. “Better than” Loki, LOL.

Right?! She was far more broken than Loki was. Loki actually healed over the series... Sylvie didn't. She was reckless and hardly better. Maybe a little worse than Loki in skills.

Plus, yet another point against the “Marvel says women good, men bad” folks, with another example from the Loki series alone: Mobius ultimately does the right thing in helping Loki when the truth comes out, whereas Ravonna refuses to change or even compromise and even backstabs Mobius.

The movie kind of felt like US Marshals, which was The Fugitive sequel without Harrison Ford. But that said it’s easily the strongest of Phase 4.

Namor was perfect and the change to Mayan was great. He really is a 500 year old MUTANT.

Shuri actually had a full character arc and that ending was one of the best Marvel endings. You had to respect Coogler’s restraint to save what he used in the ending until that moment. Hammered the emotion home there. And then the mid credits scene continued it in a great way.

Great movie. It had something to tell and did it well. The characterization of Shuri, Namor and such was nicely done. Shuri's story arc about being able to mourn her brother and draw strength from that and the wisdom she received from her mother, was beautiful.
Latitia did an amazing job, way better than I could imagine. Talk about pressure.

Wow, what an overly long, horribly paced, meh movie.

First, I’m sick of this magical vibranium. We get it, a meteorite crashed there long ago, but come on, why do they have an endless supply?

And if drinking a plant mutated by vibranium created a mutant in Namur, and Black Panther is created the same way by consuming a heart-shaped herb that, again, is mutated by vibranium, does that make BP a mutant?

And Apparently every 19 year old on earth knows how to make an Iron Man suit out of broken alarm clocks and garbage disposals.

And it’s 2023, apparently it’s cool to call white people “colonizers” in movies now. Wakanda doesn’t give a crap about the outside world, so why would they care about that enough to make sure they call the only white person they know that name, not just once, but twice.

Personally, this movie only solidifies my opinion that the MCU is a mess right now. I did like Namor, but he’s the highlight of an overall pointless movie. It’s basically a 2.5 hour movie just for them to finally say “mutant.”

Phase 4 was garbage. Should have just been called Phase Bore.

It was ok. It didnt feel like a typical MCU movie. It was more of a tribute to Boseman and thats fine. Theres more tears and crying in this movie than any other MCU film and you can feel those tears are real. I mean its not a happy movie, the theme is basically how do you move on from losing someone.

So we've started off and you already display you dont know what you're talking about.

Theres a whole mountain worth of vibranium in wakanda. An entire mine that big. We see it in the first film.

And why are you "sick" of vibranium? That doesn't even make sense, thats like saying you're sick of the Force in star wars. Its just a storytelling device lol.

And if drinking a plant mutated by vibranium created a mutant in Namur, and Black Panther is created the same way by consuming a heart-shaped herb that, again, is mutated by vibranium, does that make BP a mutant?

namor is a mutant by birth, not by the plant. Thats why he has the winged feet and longevity. All of the people who drank of the flowers gift have enhanced strength and speed. So no, drinking the liquid doesn't make you a mutant.

And Apparently every 19 year old on earth knows how to make an Iron Man suit out of broken alarm clocks and garbage disposals.
No, just Riri, because she is a child prodigy one of the smartest people on the planet even in the comics. Shes just smart lol, child prodigies happen in real life, obviously they arent building iron man suits but it's a comic book movie, chill.

And it’s 2023, apparently it’s cool to call white people “colonizers” in movies now. Wakanda doesn’t give a crap about the outside world, so why would they care about that enough to make sure they call the only white person they know that name, not just once, but twice.

You just answered your own question. The primary thing they know about white people given their isolation is the colonialism they took part in. Im sure ross will survive lol.

Its not an insult. They were colonizers for many centuries lol, they would've called themselves that at one time.

Personally, this movie only solidifies my opinion that the MCU is a mess right now. I did like Namor, but he’s the highlight of an overall pointless movie. It’s basically a 2.5 hour movie just for them to finally say “mutant.”
They've used the word mutant before this. You haven't been paying attention.

I'm not watching this movie, but if they were finding a mexican guy for the role, couldn't they at least find one that is jacked?
Id rather they go for someone who can act. And they did.

That can't be in the movie surely? Looks like a low Res game asset. I know Marvel's CGI has been rough recently but that looks bad.

Thats a low res screen grab with the colors washed out. I dont know where its from but the suit looks fine in the movie. Its also pretty accurate

Just got out of watching this, by far the best phase IV movie and possibly my favorite MCU movie. The acting and visuals were top notch. The story didn't seem like it was building toward something bigger in the MCU it was self contained and good. The action scenes were awesome. My only gripe is the ironheart suit looked ultraman goofy and Martin Freeman's bit seemed unnecessary.

Is this from a shitty cam rip? Just saw it at the cinema and it looked a lot better on screen there but was still meant to be a clunky design since this was put together in ONE WEEK and was adapted from her OG Model plans which was in a much worse state earlier in the movie.

Yes its a cam rip. I dont know where that trend started of taking a s***y photo of a thing in a movie and then using it as an example of the films visual quality, but its a stupid trend. The suit looks totally fine in the movie. The cg in general is pretty solid throughout, much better than the first movie.

You know you can do both. The guy looks flabby, the guy is either unprofessional, or there was way less expectations for him out of his physique.

Both reasons mean bad casting.

I was concerned about his physique but his acting was really good and despite him not being jacked he seemed really powerful in the action scenes but you do you seems like you have a hate boner not even sure why you're in here since you stated you're not watching.

I'm mexican, I can't understand why they demand less of us, it's not impossible to get jacked for a marvel film, it's part of the requirements. The racism of low expectations bothers me.

Attack the argument, not the person. Don’t make accusations such as this again.

I am not güerito or malinchista, I just think they could have taken someone that bothers to fit the role instead of the Americans expecting less of us. If you are ok with the foreigners expecting less of us because you are mexican, you are the one that hates himself my friend.

Right. Im sure Ryan Coogler said "Tenoch you need to get jacked" and Tenoch told him "No mames culero!" and Ryan Coogler said ok. Yeah Tenoch could have gotten jacked if Ryan Coogler demanded it but it doesn't detract from the film. You do you though.

I don't know, maybe you are one of those that is happy being given things and not earning them. Earn things, don't beg, those people have no pride. That actor was just given the role and we got a flabby dude. Racism of low expectations.

Oh so he didn't earn the role ok? I'm done.

Moon knight, spider man, shang chi, ant man, loki, captain america, winter soldier, nick fury war machine, werewolf by night, us agent, red guardian, etc are all still around so no
True. But you have Doctor Strange who seems to be held up by the Hispanic dimensional girl. Sure, he did a lot of work but she was the one here. I'm guessing that's what people are also talking about.

Moon Knight, Loki, Ant Man all have women partner who are better than them. Captain America they made a black guy so they can't turn him into a woman just yet and I don't know about Shang Chi.
Yeah that's pretty much what I was trying to say in the post right above mine here.

Oh dear. They really went there with the "colonizer" stuff? I mean, I shouldn't be surprised considering the woke level our society is at but it's really getting worse isn't it? That's assuming that what you're saying is accurate enough.

Well, at least they did not exclude Shuri especially after her views about Covid vaccines and whatnot.

I’ve watched the movie and I thought it was good. Marvel needs to go further into the direction of making their movies more different than one other and this could have been a good starting point to go in that direction, but Quantumania looks more and more like an extremely safe and formulaic movie based on all of the previews 🤷🏻‍♂️

My main criticism is that Ryan Coogler needs an action director to help improve his action scenes. Everything still feels like visual noise once things pick up and there are too many quick cuts after the impact of every hit in a fight. He actually did a better job with action scenes in the original (aside from the final fight) so I was confused by this movie's action looking worse and being harder to read.

Sometimes it feels like he treats action like he hates that it needs to be included in his film, instead of embracing the full art of action.

The story didn't seem like it was building toward something bigger in the MCU it was self contained and good...Martin Freeman's bit seemed unnecessary.
I actually think that what happened with his scenes were very important for the future in regards to how Wakanda is treated...

The Queen and Shuri have essentially undone everything Tchalla has done, excluded themselves again from the alliance of multiple nations, cut off the world from their aid and vibranium, and have made an enemy of the multiple governments including the US, all because they couldn't give legitimate reasons as to the kidnapping of an American civilian Riri Williams and the death of their Queen.

They have unknowingly allied themselves with Namor and just don't know it yet, which means he actually won in the end.

Well the movie introduced the highest profile MUTANT yet. So that’s pretty big.

The "colonizer" thing was a one line joke. Let's not be so fragile.

Yeah I guess I would need some context on it first.

For instance, I was not that offended with the whole "white boy" comment in the first movie that Shuri said.

But I don't think this has to do about fragility when you consider the crazy climate we're in now. So you have to ask yourself, are they joking?

It was ok, first one was much better. Few issues I had with the movie.

- Namor is too arrogant to yield. At least in the comics he is.
- The movie really tried my suspended disbelief with 5'0 100lbs Letitia Wright whupping 6'1 200lbs Huerta or beating 6'3 240lb Duke in arm wrestling. Duke's arm is bigger than Wright's leg
- Didn't like the Riri character at all. I already wasn't hyped for her show on Disney+ and now it's 100% a skip for me.
- Power Ranger ripoff suit
- Predator ripoff suit

It is not horrible like Eternals, Black Widow, and Thor 4, so at least there's that.

Did anyone else have problems following the dialogue in the movie? Especially the scenes with Riri where they are all like talking fast i can barely understand anything.

Yea held up, as in she was a nuisance? She was clearly helpless and defenseless without him.

You guys are reaching so gd hard.

I enjoyed it! It was REALLY good! For me, time went too fast. I thought it was the halfway mark but the movie was basically over!

Talokan was beautiful and just as advanced as Wakanda... Namor was AWESOME... His backstory was heartfelt...

For some reason I can't click the spoilers tag so I'll just say the mid credits scene left me feeling some kind of way...

But the movie was GREAT! My friends with me enjoyed it, too! They'd say if they didn't. They know I value the truth from them. One of them cried a couple of times.

Don't listen to the folks who haven't seen it... See it for yourself.

Wow they cried a COUPLE of times. I can't even tell if people are being sarcastic anymore. It's just another mediocre Marvel movie.

To YOU! Folks were genuinely sad when Chadwick Boseman died .. that probably means fuck all to you but to a lot of people it was truly emotionally sad. A lot of people cried when he passed away. Just like folks cried when Robin Williams died.

The man made an impact in the short time he was on this world... It doesn't matter if his life and performances didn't affect YOU... But they affected others. His passing is FELT in this movie.

I don't expect you or some others to understand that.

They clearly had Spanish speakers in the writer's room in some capacity, seeing as how there is a good amount of Spanish in the movie... but not one of them spoke up and said "this explanation for Namor's name is stupid and doesn't really make sense"?

From now on there are going to be a bunch of dumbass zoomers who think Namor actually means "without love" lmao. As if our language isn't getting butchered enough on Twitter these days...

No?

Maybe that is just me though.

Oh ok, i think my brain just had a hard time adjusting to all the different accents in this movie. Theres at least four.

The fake "wakandan" accent. This is really the most annoying part of the movie for me imho. And to make it worse each character seemed to have their own interpretation of what the accent should sound like.

The Talocan/spanish accent.
The east coast (boston?) accent Riri uses. Anyway half the time i couldnt understand her.
And Everett Ross' british dude trying to sound american accent.
And i read Lupita actually speaks in her native Kenyan accent.

You must have went to the washroom when

She ingested the Black Panther herb, spoke to Killmonger, and punched an armored model across the room with a punching force that's way stronger than Captain America, after waking back up.

Usually height and weight leave the conversation when you have super strength and a super suit. At that point either it's a battle of wills between two supers or the super always beating the human.

I agree though that Riri's character arc was severely undercooked, but I'm thinking they will expand it elsewhere which is why I was more forgiving of that aspect.
