The Last of Us Part II Star Laura Bailey Open To Abby Return; Reflects On Playing Spider-Man's MJ

Bailey reflected on her unforgettable experience as Spider-Man's MJ.

"It was so much fun! Anytime I get to do performance capture is such a stellar experience and Insomniac is one of the best companies I’ve ever worked with. They’re just so wonderful," she enthused. "It’s funny because I go back and listen to myself as Mary Jane and, even though it’s me, I don’t hear myself so much in that role, so I’m able to play the game and separate myself from it which is really fun."

During our brief chat, we made sure to ask Laura for her thoughts on both the upcoming HBO series and wondered whether she'd be open to playing the character again should The Last of Us Part III become a reality.

"I would definitely go back to her,"the actress confirmed. "I know there was a lot of drama and response to her character, but it was one of the most influential roles I’ve had in my life. I would 100% go back to play more Abby if the opportunity came up. The series looks amazing and I cannot wait to see more of it."

Honestly if they fix Abby's body proportions to something more realistic and not Neils "crush my head between your thighs like a watermelon" fetish we'd eliminate 99% of the problems with her. Her muscular shape at the end when she was put out to starve was a more realistic physique you'd expect even though she was weight training.

Not sure what world you live in but here in Australia I personally go to the gym at least 4 days a week, my gym has very feminine looking women that are not on steroids, all natural and they are close to Abby's physique if not her physique because they are in the gym working hard almost every day.

In an apocalyptic world, there's nothing to say they didn't have weights where Abby was living in that facility. She's in her early 20's in the game and she could have started young after her father was murdered, maybe it was an interest and a way to cope with his death and the current situation. If she started young at like 16 or 17, it's very realistic for her to be that physique especially with low body fat percentage considering all that extra cardio given the apocalyptic world she was living in. And because the game does not spell this out for you on how she got like that, it's unrealistic? No offence, but I can tell you don't spend your days in the gym because you don't have the faintest idea about how to train or obtain that physique. Not everyone who looks like this is on steroids and I can assure you it's very realistic. I see it all the time.

And at the end of the day in any case, it's a fucking game. It just goes to show that people still love to hate on this game for the most ridiculous things.

Say I don’t go to the gym without saying I don’t go to the gym. If that’s unrealistic to you that says more about you than anything.

Y'all really defending this? They increased her muscle mass significantly. She had a more realistic shape in her initial showing. Y'all can't compare a post apocalyptic survivor scenario to people with access to 300G of protein a day powerlifting. I love TLOU 2 way more than the original and I can still point out at times where playing as Abby I was having moments of "this is a fucking dude I'm playing as"

The 2017/beach Abby might have more "realistic" proportions to some people but I don't buy that character model going toe to toe with some of those bigger Scar enemies. It's more believable with the beefier version they settled with.

Well you see her size on release in 2020, that's the thing, you don't need to be powerlifting and getting anywhere near 300 grams of protein a day to look like that. Powerlifters don't even usually have defined physiques. How can I not defend this when people like you have no fucking clue. I can't even believe you think that's like some mammoth unrealistic arm. You realise anyone who has a little bit of muscle with a low body fat percentage would have an arm similar to that. Get a clue.

Because the Woman they modeled her after is a professional bodybuilder who DEFINITELY is eating like a champ? C'mon dude, they overdid it and it's OKAY.

You're not winning this argument, you think for a female this is huge and unrealistic? LOL

Low body fat percentage and nice lighting will make you look like that. Just stop embarrassing yourself.

For a woman in an apocalypse with limited access to food? Definitely. But you do you fam even though quite literally she had a more realistic physique 5 years ago before she was butched up.

Once they port part 2 to PC guarantee one of the first mods will be to make abby the size of a regular person lol

I'm absolutely down for a tlou3 with her and lev.

But for the love of god keep the annoying mary jane far away from spidey 2 or kill her in the first 5 minutes to put spidey on revenge mode.

Her performance as Abby was fantastic and she deserves praise for it, which is different from the depressing, torturous mess that was the story of TLOU2, which she didn't write. Neil did. Even after he was told not to during the development of TLOU1...

I hope they upload TLOU2 on PS+ Premium eventually. Getting interested to check it out.
What’s the timeline for Game Catalogue releases?

Those are not child bearing hips, probably she have a medical condition before
puberty causing her body to have those proportions
