[Tech Crunch] Instagram permanently disabled Pornhub’s account

The letter also pointed out that high-profile Instagram users like Kim Kardashian, who has 330 million followers, has been allowed to post “her fully exposed ass” (it seems that Pornhub is referring to the mega-celebrity’s recent semi-nude Interview Magazine cover, which has over 5 million likes on Instagram).

“We are happy to see that Kim and the artistic team behind the image are free to share their work on the platform, but question why we are denied the same treatment,” the letter said.

Instagram is 50% softcore amateur porn. And half of that 50% will have links to onlyfans, fansly, fancentro, loyalfans, premium snaps, etc.

But honestly its not like pornhub needs an ig account so whatever. People will keep going there.

Pornhub and Instagram are both on the Internet right? What am I missing?
They’re closing a communications channel and therefore a potential revenue stream, apparently without just cause.

It doesn’t matter that they’re both e-commerce businesses, there seems to be no reasonable grounds for this action.

I’m not sure what you’re getting at…

www.pornhub.com

www.instagram.com

all the content of both sites is on those links

Instagram are a private company and can do what they want, so I'm told by the Internet.

why is it such a big deal that they've shut em down. Seems like glam rag style drama. You wouldn't believe what Angelina Jolie is doing with this Tesla!!

Good. Porn is bad, in my opinion. I watch so much of it that I've practically forgone pursuing real sex, because porn is just THAT EASY. But at the cost of potential social connection.

Have you ever had sex with a human being? One's hand is a poor substitute for an actual vagina or butt. Porn is just a product like any other. Why upset the livelihoods of other people because of your lack of self control?

Rhetorical question?
My point is addressing the growing epidemic of more people have LESS sex and engaging in more porn, leading to social degradation.
I had a lot of sex 10+ years ago, but because porn was easier than talking with people to gage if we were sexual matches, so now I default to porn over even TRYING to find a real person.
But again, it's not just me. It's a growing problem around the world. Not the less sex, but the less genuine human connections.

They bring up a good point. Of all the big tech social media I've used only Twitter will cleary and objectively state which tweet or tweets violated their rules. But like all of the others, they still often fail to state which rule or rules were broken. Reddit will tell you which rule you broke, but not which exact post was the one that violated the rules.

Instagram is probably the worst when it comes to actually defining their own rules as PH pointed out.

I'd browse PH insta every once in a while. I would get introduced to adult entertainers and do a little bit of research on them 😉😉

When companies are in a position to entirely silence you from public discourse, leaving that power up to them seems disastrous. They mustn't be the arbiters of what is or isn't appropriate to platform. I changed my stance completely on that, although I understand private companies can do as they please. I disagree that they should have that freedom when they are the primary way of online communication.

I'd wager that most of the pictures on the brunette/blonde/butt/boobs forums are from Instagram. Alot of them are borderline porn (no complaints here) so this announcement sounds like bullshit.

I bet Mike Lee is furiously jacking it right now on pornhub as we speak. Just a fucking loser that repressed dill hole is
