We are 2 years into a new gen, and this guy's argument for cloud is stadia vs. a 2013 Xbox One and a 2017 Xbox One X that is still based on the 2013 Xbox One.

Nope, I'm right, the fact you had to go away from "NOW" and go back to 2013 proves it. While also never listing a single issues with cloud and pretending there aren't any problems with it for several game features and genres.

Also "current hardware" funny how you make that argument, which isn't what I made, and still go back to 2013. I said that it will take 20 years before Cloud gaming could replace the console, not that it would take 20 years for the cloud to replace 2013 consoles like the Xbox One.
Bad faith. I didn't only go back to 2013 to make a point, i covered a large part of gamers from Switch(earlier message) to PS4, to mid gen refresh (One X), to PS5, to high end PC (only a tiny part of gamers).

Cloud is NOT 20 years away from being as good as current hardware. The GFN 3080 case (between PS5 and high end PC) proves it. Saying 20 years is ridiculous since PS5 is already beaten...and i didn't say it will replace local gaming. Just reacting to your ridiculous number.

Never heard of those services. On whose servers do they run? If their infrastructure is just on some few spots, the speeds would suffer even more than on bigger services.
I have yet to check how well Stadia runs on my LG.

You are moving goal posts.

Your quote in post #8 clearly states: "Cloud gaming is 20 years away from being as good as hardware is NOW, there's always going to be a market for hardware."

NOW should reflect the current mix of hardware, which does in fact include hardware from 2013 whether you like it or not.

Your new argument, of streaming replacing consoles is a much loftier requirement.

Who is this shit even for? Even casuals don't seem to care about cloud gaming. These corporations can't help but try to shove it down our throats.

More cloud gaming services will have more exclusives than old time. Won't be a good path for us.

But thankfully for one month contract. Imagine that one year minimum contract.

I really had to laugh. Some people here really believe that Geforce now 3080 is slower than the current consoles. I'm not a huge fan of this service, as many games are missing, but to say it's slower is just stupid.

Never said you did, the bad faith is you pretending there's nothing wrong wit GFN and that it's a substitute for current consoles when it's not. Then continuing to pretend there aren't any cons. (that's not even including the data cap issue which is it's own problem, one guy used up 3GB of data playing an hour of Cyberpunk 2077)

covered a large part of gamers from Switch(earlier message) to PS4, to mid gen refresh (One X),
Switch is a last gen handheld machine that's not comparable to the home consoles, you're only making your argument look worse. The One X is still held back by 2013 hardware with only a better GPU primarily. If you have to run to those to have an argument you never had a good one.

You are moving goal posts.

Nope.

NOW should reflect the current mix of hardware, which does in fact include hardware from 2013 whether you like it or not.

Illogical, discontinued consoles would not be what "NOW" covers, and you also had to remove context to even get this conclusion.

In 20 years the game will change, even Microsoft Meta and others will likely have streaming service (assuming new technology replaces what's holding cloud back) that will remove consoles from the picture, but I'm sure there will still bar hardware to put in front of the TV with some basic tech in it just for security, local, and accessory purposes, but once that login is created you'll be able to pull up your streaming account anywhere, with gameplay, crisp image, and no need for hardware causing mass adoption by the mainstream assuming people are paying less than $200 a month and data caps are either gone or improved.

But that's not now. Where there's no real reason to choose GFN 1080 or Stadia or even Xcloud over a Series X for the majority of users, and those who want the most optimized experience, and developers getting deeper into the hardware is going to have to be replaced by developers getting used to the hardware hosting the Cloud services too, and that's going to take time. Just how it is.

Stop croping my message to make a point. (Bad faith again)
I covered from Ps4,switch, one to PS5, High end PC... And never said there were no cons, i even said the IQ should be better on console for Destiny (even older consoles)
I really don't like bad faith, pawl.

I had arguments with many gamers on GAF, but your methods are dirty 😁

Stop croping my message

Never cropped anything, I address all the points you've failed to make across all your posts.

I covered from Ps4,switch, one to PS5, High end PC.

And I wasn't, and you were responding to me.

And never said there were no cons,
Yet you basically mentioned none and presented your argument as that GFN 1080 was better now than consoles while acting as if there aren't some major flaws for it, and when I first brought that up you dismissed it in your next reply.

Ain't nothin dirty being done, you just have a incomplete argument, upgrade your ram so you have a better one.

You nailed it. He is constantly moving goal posts that's why i'll stop discussing with him. It's endless.

You are leaving because you can't respond to my last post calling you out. No goal posts were moved, you can't even explain what goal posts were because it never happened. You are ignoring what my argument was YOU responded to, and then tried to switch it around, bringing up consoles from 2013.

You're literally talking out of your breath but don't have room in your lungs to take in another's opinion.

You remind me of the whole digital vs. physical argument from 2014 and look where we are today. Literally if you haven't tried Cloud gaming with an optimal setup (like mine / add that with a CX since this is a TV thread) you have no idea what its capable of.

There was no opinion, he barely ever presented an argument and was in the middle of changing the parameters (which wasn't the original as he kept backtracking) of the discussion to confuse people, and you fell right into it.
