Wanted: Dead, the upcoming fast-action game that mixes third-person shooting with Ninja Gaiden-style slice-and-dice melee gameplay (not a coincidence because it's being made by former Ninja Gaiden developers), now has a release date: Valentine's Day. Yes, it will be out on February 14, 2023, for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Enjoy this new action-packed trailer that mixes gameplay, anime-style cutscenes, and game cutscenes.

Best voice acting for sure. Much voice. Such talent.

Hope the game is good. Gameplay seems promising but we will see. So much for a 2022 release. The curse of 2022 strikes again.

Another game to fall off the 2022 cliff, but I like the Valentine's Day release timing, it worked for Deadpool...

BTW, watching this trailer, did it it seem like the game looks way more clear than it has in previous showings? There was always way-overuse of motion blur, but also like an averaging-of-color effect or like low-res textures on characters in gameplay (she looked like Play-Doh at times,) and it was hard to look at because it seemed indistinct. This appeared to be clearer and finalized now.

Trailer didn't do much for me, the last one was better but I'm in either way, considering the team behind it.

Looks like the spirit of Itagaki is alive and well! Glad somebody is still making these, especially since Team Ninja has become another Souls-like factory and Itagaki has fallen into the void. AA games forever! (hopefully with tolerable jank)

You give me swords and guns and I’m instantly interested.

Looks like some fun action cheese on a lower budget. Bring it on!

day one for sure. probably the game I'm most hyped about over the next year or so just based on the people behind it and the style of the game.

Yeah..maybe. I like Ninja Gaiden, DMC, Bayonetta etc..but that doesn't mean I'm necessarily gonna buy this game. I won't be surprised if it flops tbqh

Not sure why they call themselves the makers of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive when most of the people who
worked on those games are still at Team Ninja

Not as far as I'm aware. Team Ninja has splintered, key people leaving with Itagaki when he formed his own studio and then some more with Soleil Games.
Did you play Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time? Same developer. I had alot of fun with that game.
Woah wasn't aware they made this game, looks bonkers like those old THQ licensed games only way better.

Is this made by Itagaki’s studio?

I do hope it gets a lot more difficult than in the videos. Devils Third also used cover a lot which made switching between guns and melee make a lot more sense.

In Wanted so far they just kind of do whatever while the enemies stand around. So far I gotta say Devils Third looks a lot better, but I'm one of the few who really enjoyed that game. The enemies return fire a lot more.

I think I need a demo to try or something, because something feels off about the combat when I look at that video... Like it lacks weight and feels like the effects that are meant to give the combat the heft it needs is not fully implemented yet, especially for the execution moves. The enemies make me wonder who is playing the game and whether they are playing on the easiest difficulty mode, because the enemies just awkwardly stand there, waiting to be killed. I would hope that they would be more aggressive. Maybe having the enemies in a combat stance would help rather than the current casual stance.

The enemies could also use more variety in their death screams, because the "Blllleeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhh!" scream is kind of obnoxious in how frequently you can hear it.

One of the developers of Wanted: Dead, the upcoming fast-action game that mixes third-person shooting with Ninja Gaiden-style slice-and-dice melee gameplay (not a coincidence because it's being made my former Ninja Gaiden developers), walks you through a whopping 30 minutes of new gameplay. Enjoy!

Looks damn fun, but I just wish it didn't release in such a busy month of releases.

Will definitely be picking this up at some point if it turns out at least decent.

This does not look like a full budget but full priced game, it's $60 USD... that seems too much for what this video shows, it looks like it's lacking a little. The animations for shooting into melee look lacking.

This game looks like it'd be at home on the PS3/360 designwise or very early PS4/One.

The Ninja Gaiden thing is a pretty steep claim, and it doesn't seem warranted.

Holy hyperbole. Have you even played NG, cause I just finished the first for the n’th time and this looks to be on par with that. Another case of rose tinted glasses.

Also, nothing wrong with ps3/360 character action game design, so dunno why you make it seem so negative.. all action games today are mostly souls-clones and I’m sick of those.

So, female Devil's Third, but looking more janky and some not great animation. Combat flow and enemy encounters don't seem particularly good either.

Still, can't score worse than DT, that has a 43 MT rating and no one even bothered porting it or asking to port it.
