I had planed to ditch PS+ last month. I don't use the Playstation for anything but the first party games that I have to spend 70 bucks each for.
In January I finally got ahold of a PS5, loaded up the wallet for Ratchet and Clank, Horizon Forbidden West, and God of War Ragnarok. The money is spent for 2022.
I just got an email saying that PS+ auto renewed for the next year. I now have 11.15 in my Wallet. It auto renewed using the funds in that wallet.
God of War might as well come out in 2023 now.

Yes I have now turned off that stupid auto renew switch.

I guess as consolation I now have 1 more year of PS+

I don't think I would have had enough in the Wallet for God of War anyway if you include tax. I was up to 71.11. I did not know it would use the Wallet for Subscriptions. I had always used the prepaid scratch off cards.

I'm sure I can, I just have to sneak it in the wallet before the Wife notices. I'm supposed to be buying school supplies this week. But Things could go missing.......

Happened to me as well this year. I immediately got in contact with the support and after 2-3 days i got my money back, but they told me i only got it back because it was my first time refunding ps+....

Have happened every time I add a new year to my PS+ so far, have both used PS+ codes and bought directly from PSN Store, after the code are redeemed or PS+ purchased from store subscription have been turned on again.

Yeah, fuck Sony. They seem to be real bullies whenever you try to cancel or refund something, and doing so once will put you on their shitlist and can put your whole account and everything on it at risk of being taken away from you. It's why on the PS5 I buy physical copies of my games whenever I can.

No I mean buy a PSN gift card to apply the funds to the wallet at the same place you buy the school supplies. That way it just looks like the school supplies cost $50 more this year due to inflation.

Edit2: If you want a tip from a total asshole: change your bank card once every 1-2 years. That way you’ll cut off all your subscription services from time to time. I usually do this for several other reasons too, for bank account safety for example.
