Yeah, I remember that being the only thing Stadia-related that interested me in terms of what I saw. It’d be cool if it came to the other platforms now.

I don't know about a console. Times are changing, whether we like it or not. As a child of the early 80s I slowly but surely also must change. But for now, I do prefer a physical box.
Also, services change over time. So curious to why they give up, if that's the case. Maybe user base is not sustainable for them.
I have a Shield, never used GeForce Now. Only as media player of my Plex server. But still, it's an option and a choice I can make. Been a Gamepass subscriber since day one, never tried xCloud yet, but there will be a migration I believe.

That’s unfortunate if true. The tech was pretty good, and I think it is the only place you can stream games without paying some kind of sub (except GFN free tier).

Lets see if this works, just another Stadia input latency test, if it works it should be a 60fps video recorded on an iPhone 7. But we’ll see,haven’t uploade...

The problem was the games output, and not having a library of Pro games, and having a stop gap hardware at the end of the generation that devs had to start porting games to when everybody wanted something truly next gen, and not having any games of their own, and the games you bought only worked streamed.
I eventually stopped using it and swapped to Geforce Now instead after noticing that Crew 2 ran at 60fps there and 30fps on Stadia. Played some RTX games before I had a graphics card with RTX there. Then I upgraded the PC and stopped using GFN as well. No loss of games there though since it’s just the Steam library, or parts of it.

i'd be surprised if Google does any of that.
anyway, i don't have any sympathy for anyone who bought games on Stadia and is now upset at the thought they won't have access to them. you dont own the games. you only bought a license to play it while Stadia as a platform is up and running. the same is true Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo, or Steam. One day they'll be shut down and your games will be gone. The difference is if you buy a game on those platforms you can expect them to be supported for a long time. Google isn't known for sticking with products and supporting them.
if anyone bought a game on Stadia thinking "it's OK i'll be able to play this in 5, 10, 15, 20 years!" then jokes on them.
as for the controllers... i mean maybe someone will be able to hack them? but is it worth it? they will probably become paperweights or be thrown in the bin.

Yeah the tech is honestly way better than Xbox Cloud. But MS is light years ahead on everything else, Xbox Cloud is a nonobstructive layer on top of Gamepass now with a library of games and is usable on Xbox One to play XSX games, as a product it’s just a lot better.

I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft made a deal with Google to use the stadia technology. In fact, i wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft straight up bought it off them. Google said they were going to sell Stadia (tech) to companies to use with their own products. So someone could license it and slap their own brand on it.

At least they were right with Dreamcast though. Online gaming, and games loud never get anywhere else made the Dreamcast great.

Failed business model aside, Stadia has by far the best game streaming tech. It works much better than both PS Now (or whatever its called now) and Xcloud, provided you were in somewhat ideal circumstances. I bought Cyberpunk 2077 for it and out of all the streaming services i've tried, this was the only one that made me think "You know, this could work". Image quality was good, input delay was minimal and you could only tell it was streaming in certain situations. The Stadia version of Cyberpunk 2077 was actually one of the best versions of the game.
That said, Stadia was just here too early. You need to live somewhat close to a hub and you need fast internet and if you have both of these things, then you probably make enough money to afford a console.
