The post I replied to was referring to ND fans in general.
The post you replied to is saying that this information is very damning and is not getting much attention due to the very loyal fanbase ND has. Which is almost certainly true.
EA, Ubisoft, etc. Anyone else pretty much would be trashed and it would be a huge story.

You are not reading the correct post then. This is what I replied to:

ND Fandom is a cult worst them Nintendo Fandom and thats saying something ... Im a big Last of Us 1 fan ... It is my favorite game of all time ... but is ridiculous

I'll happily pay for a remake that is done as well as something like Resident Evil 2 for example.

In the case of this, the least you'd assume for something advertised as "rebuilt from the ground up" would be more then just improved visuals and that's it. Based on the leaks, the gameplay looks exactly the same.

If the gameplay is improved substantially, then you'd assume they'd give us a gameplay trailer, and not hide it.

I'll reserve overall judgement till I see legit footage of gameplay, but even still, 70 bucks? Lol no thanks.

This would be getting Craig levels of attention in here if it wasn’t ND or another favoured studio.

Appalling.
And this is just getting pedantic at this point.

What is your point of even posting ITT? To defend the objectivity of ND fans ignoring this information..?

The Last of Us is my favorite game ever and even I feel like this is kind of a cash grab.

I like the story better than 2, but I at least thought the gameplay would be updated in this remake to match the second one because that was a huge improvement over the first game.

The graphics don't even look as good as TLOU Part 2 in some areas. Why is this a PS5 only game sold at $70.

I usually defend the increased pricing if I feel it is warranted enough, but this definitely feels like a $50 game tops.

I don't see the justification for even that. A 60 FPS re-make already exists with much more accurate to setting texturework and multiplayer. How exactly does another re-make with higher resolution but less fitting textures and other oddities with multiplayer removed justify 50 bucks? Honestly even 20 is a stretch and that's talking objectively. Personally this re-make is worthless for me and I wouldn't take it for free over the superior existing re-make.

Side note; All of this assumes they don't damn near miraculously actually re-make the game unlike this real leaked footage suggests. However, I've never seen that actually happen lol. Where a leak ends up completely different from the end product.

Judging by the gameplay it sadly does not, saw multiple headshots do nothing but red splatter on the face texture, multiple leg and arm shots did nothing like they do to enemies in TLOU II, the enemy just stands still, the melee is also the same as the OG all the way down to the exact same PS3 animations.

Also there were no macabre sound effects like there were in II judging off the gameplay seen.
In the Options "Gore" was set to default
Dont know what the other option is, might be higher.. might be lower.

Almost certainly lower as in turn it off. This was available with the original ps3 launch, here's a random video demoing it. So no remake features there either..

Nah, my only point was being a ND fan doesn't make one part of a cult. That's it.

Sony deserves credit for for introducing 40 fps to console games. 60 is better, no doubt about that, but when we start to get more demanding games it will be difficult to double the frame rate over a 30 base. A 40 fps Unreal Engine 5 title should be doable and much better than the 30 fps Matrix demo we got.

I’m lucky because I haven’t played Lost Legacy yet, and I’m going to play it on my day off on Friday. So I still have something fresh from them to play.

Tragic to see what ND has become though, I’m genuinely worried. Their PS3 heyday of U1-3 and TLOU was simply incredible.

The studio was in much better shape when they still had Straley and Hennig. It’s been said to death, but a minority was determined that we should wait and see how things pan out with Druckmann despite the warning signs.
Lol, you guys are literally in a thread bitching about how little they improved TLOU remake compared to Part 2 and still somehow delusionally nostalgic about the old naughty dog.

Stop it.

I mean fair enough not just being a fan. I was a fan for example.

I do think this is going to blow up in ND's face in a major way if the game is revealed and we see that these leaks are accurately showing that this is just a cosmetic makeover and nothing more.

This is what was promised:

"We’ve implemented modernized gameplay, improved controls, and expanded accessibility options in this single-player experience to allow even more individuals to enjoy the game. Effects, exploration, and combat have all been enhanced. Leveraging the PS5’s powerful hardware, we also implemented 3D Audio*, haptics, and adaptive triggers. Both returning fans and new players alike will have the opportunity to experience both The Last of Us Part I and its prequel story Left Behind in a whole new way. "

So if that's all just bullshit then even the most die-hard ND fans are not going to save them from the shitstorm heading their way.

So no new

Level design
Controls (no probe or dodge)
Enemy reactions/dialogue
No new interactions

It really is a reskin with new textures and models?
We should have known when Sony pulled the project from the other studio and finished this quickly for the TV show. It's a shame because TLOU is one of those style over substance games to me, and I thought this was it's chance to match the greatest of all time hype with improved gameplay.

Jim Ryan also just sucks. He's been trying to push playstation 5 as a premium console with premium pricing. Ironically could have just waited for inflation before showing his hand early

Doesn’t look like they’ve improved the co-op AI much, if at all. Ellie still seems to dawdle around in the line of fire with seemingly zero consequences.

Disappointing…

It seems so. I wouldn't even qualify it as a remake. This is essentially the game's second (albeit far more ambitious) remaster.

The studio was in much better shape when they still had Straley and Hennig.

Since they made what I consider their best game by far without either of them, I disagree with this statement.

Yes, we will see relatively soon. Certainly the lack of any gameplay + this leak seems quite damning. I'll be stunned if this leak is way off and the first to admit being wrong about it, but it'd be a first in terms of leaks of this nature.

I could see the most hardcore ND fans try to weasel out of it, saying something like; "It does have more accessibility, adaptive triggers and new audio mixing! And there is a very slight difference in aiming (or something like that) so all new gameplay too!" Though that is a huge stretch and clearly spin, some fans will probably try to make similar statements. But I hope most will see the truth about the remake, if these leaks end up being similar to the release version, which again I do think is highly likely.

I was being extremely generous with the $50 lol. With the multiplayer removed, this remake an is such a slap in the face. I personally would only get this for $20 and under and even then I don't even then that would be too much. I also don't think I've seen a leak of a product be fundamentally different from the real thing in a while unless the leak is fake of course.

These leaks makes me think this is will be a day one release on the ps+ extra tier?

It really seems to be just a reskin... almost unbelievable. Sony usually release high quality stuff as their big releases - i could not imagine them not implementing the tlou 2 gameplay at least..

I mean not even level layouts or voice acting seems changed. This seem be a project mostly made by artists updatinh models and textures and not by game designers…

I will wait for the official gameplay trailer before I trash it. For all we know, it could be a early build, because I don't think ND would release the game like this, after all the improvements it listed
But what improvements were actually listed? They were not really specific and open to interpretation…

There's definitely no voice acting changes, as the voice actors for Ellie and Joel didn't even know the game was being released (or they acted like they didn't)

No, just defending things like intentionally hiding information about this two year in developement full priced re-remake which now looks like a demake makes someone part of a cult.

And seeing that you felt the need to reply, I'm sure you share that sentiment, right?
He is on my ignore list... he is the bigger cuck for cuckman i have ever seen

Im not so sure, out of all the options, left side of the slide is 0 and off and to the right on or 10

Default is set to left / 0
I still am hoping for more lou2 gore.

Because it was lol. Remember Naughtu Dog wasn't even working on this game initially. Sony Greenlight it to another studio

I think you meant, Faction™ BETA*
*Identical to Factions from 2013 TloU-1 now with less stable servers, hence the BETA!
Please understand, please pay 100 bucks thank you.

(no I don't actually think they'll copy paste the 2013 gameplay... they could, but probably not, before someone takes this joke seriously)

I don't know what ND is even thinking here. How do you advertise something as being "built from the ground up" when it is going to be obvious to everyone if that is not the case? The game does look great, but it is not a different game at all from what we are seeing. Can't lie. I'm extremely bummed out about this. I was really excited to play TLOU with TLOU 2 gameplay. Fucking sucks...

Sony's got a full priced next-gen PlayStation 5 exclusive from their premier developer dropping in two months, and they're being rather quiet on it. I don't think they have high sales expectations. If this moves a million copies on PS5 I'll be impressed. It'll likely do much better numbers on Steam, whenever they get around to releasing the PC port. With that said, if they drop this onto PS+ within a year of release, after charging AUD$125.00 for such an unnecessary game, they'll be burning a few bridges.

It's no wonder they were boasting about how they didn't need to crunch. Whoopdie fucking do.

There's no way this bled into their other projets. About the only positive I can take from this now

Looking forward to PC release. This, Days Gone (amazingly underrated game IMO), Spiderman, HZD, etc. Great time to be a PC gamer.

I actually bought a PS3 specifically for TLOU back in the day. Absolutely loved it. Does anybody know if they're bringing any gameplay elemements from TLOU2 into this remake? Like the ability go prone, more manoeuvrability, enhanced combat?

None it seems.
Only thing I've noted was Joel drawing back on the hammer of his revolver when aiming at enemies, didnt do that in the first iteration of lou.
I guess the "game" and "enhanced combat" stem from how the controller feels when fighting, the Duelsense™
How it feels pulling the trigger or bow pull, choking out a guy and his veins pulsing through out the controller like a Domination minigame.... just me?

I see Ellie's still invisible to enemies and gameplay looks largely the same. I noticed some more complex level geometry here and there; I see the disheveled blinds, the ceiling tiles ajar, the texture work on railing and walls. Enemies are noticeably higher poly, you can see that during the grapple/holdup animation.

Looks good but not "US $70 good". I wouldn't go that far to call it a reimagining of the first game.

I'll grab it for $40 or less, if it doesn't end up as part of the PS+ extra/premium lineup in a year or two after its release.
